They were responsive and helpful throughout the process from our tour and booking right through to the day of the wedding. And, Spencer nailed it with the DJ match (Devin); we danced up a storm! However once we reached the top, there was no need to worry. What a lovely space this was to have an event. There was a reception area for drinks prior to the ceremony. The room was set up nicely with a combination of standing cocktail tables and seating to sit down in. The bar area was set up nicely and was well organized. I was so surprised to see the outdoor space next to the room where the ceremony was held. The room itself was beautiful, but seeing the outdoor greenery made it all the more magical. After the ceremony everyone retired back to the reception area for drinks. I kept trying to figure out where dinner was going to be served. While having drinks, the staff kept walking around with these amazing hors d'oeuvres! I had so many that I almost did not want to have dinner, they were that good. Well color me surprised as the same room we were in for the ceremony was transformed into a dining area, with a second room next to it set up for a band and dancing. The set up for dinner was nice and the food was actually pretty good, I mean clean your plate good. The staff did an excellent job of serving without getting in the way of things. And the speed at which they transformed the room was pretty quick. I am usually not much for wedding events but we had a great time here, in part to the lovely couple, but the venue had a big part to play in it. If I had known about this place and COVID had not been a thing, we could have had The Doctor's 60th here.

It's absolutely massive so I'd recommend for a large party, although it looks like you can divide it into a smaller space if necessary too. This space was beautifully decorated for this particular bar mitzvah and do think very high centerpieces are best due to the high ceilings. It was february so everything was done inside, although they did connect a heated tent for the kids cocktail hour. I'm headed to another event there in August where they plan to use the outdoor space for cocktail hour and I hear river boat rides are even an option. Super cool! I'm sure they have lots of catering options to choose from, but this particular party used limelight and i thought the food was better than the average bar mitzvah/wedding. I would definitely consider this venue for an event. I don't love planning downtown events due to the long drive from the suburbs, but since this wasn't as far it took us about 45 minutes to get there from Glencoe on a Sat evening and then another 25 minutes home later that evening.

Adam thoroughly answered all of our questions, gave us guidance for vendors, and provided the highest level of customer service throughout our event planning and execution phases. The venue is amazing as it has beautiful views of the Chicago River and a great vibe with how they decorated the space. We had 200 guests attend our 80's Prom themed fundraiser. The venue layout is perfect for designing a cool themed event and it's super spacious with plenty of room both inside and outside on the patio deck overlooking the river. Yes these are high end balloons and wow do you get what you pay for. The custom balloon with my sisters name on it was HUGE and make the vibe perfect for the entrance. Beware! Unprofessional, unresponsive, & unreliable. Sent in to request for 2 events, twice. No…read moreresponses. Sent an email was told they'd get back to me with a proposal, missed their own deadline. Sent another email to Nicole: "really don't appreciate the unprofessionalism. No response to my 2 internal request for a quote, I have to email you. Then your own deadline isn't met." Then Nicole asked me question some that I already answered in my initial requests. Clearly, no attentiveness or attention to detail. Sent me their basic cookie cutter event stuff. I didn't want their cookie cutter display stuff from their website. I wanted a quote for something unique. I answered her email questions then an Ali responses saying "Nicole is out of the office until Monday." She went on to tell me "12 days is enough for us to accommodate your requests." I don't think they could handle my request. As Nicole previously stated, "I sincerely apologize for the delay and completely understand your frustration. You're right that I had given you a timeline, and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to meet it or communicate the delay with you sooner. We are currently in the height of our busiest season, and our response and proposal lead times have unfortunately been longer than usual. That being said, I should have kept you updated rather than leaving you waiting. I am working on your decks and will have it over to you today. I really appreciate your patience and apologize again for the frustrating experience." I asked for the CEO, or person in charge of the business, and I was ignored. Again, why would I use this company? Why would you?

My lamb was perfectly cooked and came with a pretty, and delicious assortment of roasted vegetables. I also had a side of mashed potatoes, which were creamy, buttery and nicely seasoned. For drinks, we tried the old fashioned and couple of their specialty cocktails, and they were strong and tasty! No complaints. Carly and the team are beyond amazing - very approachable, helpful, and incredibly responsive. The food was delicious, the day was stress-free, everything was beautiful, and we couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding. A few other points worth nothing: - The bartenders provided through REC made delicious cocktails. - The fact that REC doesn't require purchase of alcohol packages, but instead allows for BYOB directly from a liquor store allowed us to save so much money. - We had REC cater desserts for us (cupcakes, cookies, shooters) and guests kept complimenting how delicious they were. The dessert package is incredibly affordable. You really can't go wrong with REC!
