I cannot say enough about Scott and Trigger Chicago. The space is amazing. Beautiful and eclectic with all the right vibes. Scott is probably one of the coolest guys I've met in a long time. Additionally, his professionalism and continued support, even throughout the day of, were second to none. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year Wedding Anniversary with a Vow Renewal celebration. Friends and family aging from 15 years old to 70+ (my Dad) all had an amazing time! Trigger Chicago, our staff (from Carol's Staffing) and our booze selection (from Carly w/ Bottles & Cans) were outstanding!! my husband and I were set to get married at trigger in early september 2026 but the night before the wedding, my family and I discovered a maggot infestation. There were dead and live maggots all over the venue - in the basement, in the bathrooms, in the kitchen, under carpets, and all over the floors. There were hundreds of them. We reached out to Scott Tallarida, the owner of the space, who initially asked if we were sure they were maggots (spoiler: they were). Scott claimed his wife, Julie Tallarida was cleaning the venue that night (unclear because there were still live ones crawling around the space that night after she had left). Then, Scott proceeded to rudely ask why I did not call his wife about the situation given he was too busy at a concert to act appropriately. Scott was my only contact for the venue at that point so I was communicating with the person I thought could do something about the bad situation. Scott was very rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate in how he handled the situation. His response was to deflect and talk about his own messed up wedding that happened out of an alley as if that would make us feel better. Scott did not take the necessary steps to fumigate the day we found out about the infestation or the next day. It's unfortunate our special day is tainted with this memory and in the end, it took Scott more than 3 weeks to process a refund and the only reason he did anything was because we demanded an answer. TLDR: we were left without a venue for our wedding the night before our big day. read more

I'm sorry to say that the owner of this property was difficult and rude. I drove 3 hours for the final walk thru with vendors and family prior to my daughter's wedding. Scott "forgot" and did not show up. We were given a code to get in, but many many questions went unanswered. The wedding was lovely and the venue looked great after much decorating and planning. At midnight the happy couple was in for that all of our things had to be removed by 9 am! If we had not been told when we booked this space that we had all day Sunday to get the mirrors, candles, flowers etc removed we could have planned for this! As good friend did come at 9 and discovered that most of our things, including antique mirrors, pottery, potted plants that were mine, and most importantly a hand made broom that was made by my daughters new sister in law, were given away! I am deeply disturbed by this callous and unkind behavior. I would never recommend this venue to anyone. read more

This was the PERFECT venue for our event. Trigger is a gem and we are so happy we found it. First of all, it's beautiful and unique. Second, it is an extremely versatile space that can be transformed in any way you imagine. The space was perfect for my son's recent bar mitzvah. We had his service in the main room and then flipped the room for the party. Scott is great to work with. The fee for renting the space is a very good value ( other similar venues wanted way more) . We used Scott's in house caterer, Bryan Eder, who created a delicious meal for our guests at an extremely reasonable price. You can rent tables, chairs and table settings directly from Trigger which makes it nice to have one less vendor to deal with. We also rented Scott's automatic photo booth which was a huge hit with both our child and adult guests. Fantastic venue. read more

I've always drove through that place but never had a chance nor cared what Trigger was all about. My friend had an extra ticket so I attended a silent function held there. Was it a bar? Was it a private club? No, but it could be. It's actually a banquet that has been used for private events and their parking lot holds 5 cars. Residential parking wasnt so difficult to find. This event venue has won the couples choice award for Wedding Wire 2019; 2 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, and 14 feet high ceiling. Add the website says, "5000 feet of anything you can imagine." read more

What a cute little spot! I attended a Christmas party that a friend hosted here yesterday (a Saturday) night. The place has a warm, sweet vibe to it. The venue is split into two rooms. The room in the front has a bar/kitchen, some couches in a little area to lounge, an old-timey red phonebooth (great for gimmicky pictures!) and an area for a DJ to set up. The back room is basically just a big dance floor, as well as a big mirror with lights around it. There are two bathrooms here, which may be sort of tough depending on how big your party is. But for our party of about 75, it worked out just fine. Parking is a little dicey...the lot for the venue itself is practically non exist, and there seemed to be plenty of street parking. You should warn your guests in advance that they may have to walk a block or two to get to your party, or keep in mind during the winter it may be a little difficult. Also, no wifi access! But that was really the only hiccup with this place. Would recommend for a smaller gathering...maybe a vow renewal, birthday celebration, etc. Not bad! read more

My husband and I chose Trigger for our marriage celebration (basically a big 'ol bash with 115 of our closest family and friends after having a private wedding ceremony a couple weeks prior). And, it was a HUGE success for us and our guests! We live in Denver by way of Chicago and were a bit reluctant to throw a party in a city we didn't live in. But, it all worked out. It always does! The owner, Scott, was incredibly helpful every step of the way. He Facetimed me, so I could see more of the space in addition to the pictures online. And, he even let me and my in-laws take a peek when we were in town five months prior to our big day! We all loved it (even more so after seeing it in real life). Trigger is truly a unique space with a wealth of eclectic artwork and displays. The super fab furniture in the lounge area made the space feel even more comfortable. The bathrooms were pure eyecandy. When's the last time you heard someone say that about a bathroom?! We wanted the event to feel more like a big party as opposed to a traditional sit-down style wedding reception and I think we succeeded. Our guests mingled the night away! Trigger has banquet tables, high-top tables and chairs for rent, which was really convenient. We set up banquet tables and chairs for the back room. Some people hung out casually back there and many people ate dinner in the back room. Some people also ate standing up at the high-top tables and lounge area we set up in the front room. It was a nice mix and more of a fun party vibe. It was such a special treat to rent a venue that was so flexible in terms of food, beverages, setup, timing, etc. A blank canvas (besides all the cool artwork and furniture)! Scott was great with answering my many questions, helping organize all our various food and beverage vendor deliveries and being there the morning of to help us with the sound system and PA for our music playlists, TVs for our digital photo collage, etc. He was such a joy to work with and Trigger is simply the coolest. read more

My husband and I knew what we wanted for our wedding celebration: A stylish place we could gather with family and friends but more importantly, a place to make our own. We weren't sure that was possible until we found Trigger. From its unique decor and home style set up, the venue allowed us to easily transition the space from an intimate ceremony, to our reception. Scott was informative with suggestions but ultimately allowed us to use the space however we intended, which was very important to us. Scott's assistant Bryan was amazing..... let me repeat... AMAZING. He assisted my family with the catering we ordered, he assisted our bartender with stocking up the fridge. He threw out the trash, helped clean up at the end of the night and he did it all with a smile. We couldn't be happier with our decision and would recommend Trigger for a wedding celebration without hesitation. read more

I'm a resident of this neighborhood and it sucks that Trigger doesn't care about their neighbors because street parking is taken all up by Trigger guests, often leaving residents on Mozart Street without parking. read more

A great venue! We hosted our holiday party here and had a wonderful time. The location is beautiful and they were quite flexible about us putting up our own decorations. The parking was limited to neighboring streets, but that wasn't an issue. Most people took shared rides or found street parking. The wifi was fast. The best part was working with professionals. They were always quick to respond to our texts and emails, and had a helper on-site for our event. We will definitely consider this location for future events! read more

We hosted our son's bar mitzvah at Trigger last night and it was awesome. If you are looking for a unique urban venue, this is the place. It makes the event feel like an intimate gathering versus an impersonal party. Scott and Julie are the owners and get very involved in the process, which also adds to the success. They are adding a second floor next year which will make it even more perfect. We cannot wait to host future events with Trigger. read more

Trigger was an amazing space for the celebration of our daughter's bat mitzvah. Scott was incredibly easy and pleasant and fabulous to work with, the space is perfect with a room in the back (where we put the DJ and the kids) and a large comfortable front room with amazing light, comfortable couches and a perfect kitchenette, where all the adults hung out.
