Half combo half potato
Rebecca K.

Hands down, one of my favorite pizza places in town. There's a distinct taste to their pizza, especially their crust (I'm a carb gal). They are known for their Dino slice and potato pizza. I usually order online and pick up my pizza, I've only dined in once. Online ordering is straightforward and easy. The restaurant is located downtown and does have a large outdoor seating area. Pros: love their pizza, my favorite is the combo pizza. The potato pizza grew on me, it was the white sauce and cheese blend that won me over. I haven't tried the Dino slice yet so I'll be making sure to go back and try it. Cons: since it's downtown and there's a lot of local businesses around, parking can be hard to find. Sometimes we get lucky and find parking close by!

One of the best pizzas I've had. Visiting out of town and wife and I stumbled on this place. Vibe was super lively and service was good. We had the potato pizza and it was amazing. Good beer selection too.

Absolutely DELICIOUS PIZZA! The dough was to die for and I'm not a dough fan normally, I like thin crispy pizzas but this dough was like BUH-DUH! So dang delicious! We got a half combo and hair chicken with some hot honey sauce on it and the most delicious creamy sauce. The chicken was so tender and perfect! We sat outside and it was a gorgeous day and we washed everything down with some cans of Coke! Can't wait to go again and check out the pepperoni. It all looks so good!

Heard rave things about this place. Unfortunately it didn't deliver. Got a pepperoni pizza - it was delicious. Not much to say here. Could use more cheese. Also got the white sauce potato pizza and I paid extra for chicken. This one missed the mark. It didn't taste like there was any sauce. And I'm not sure there's any chicken on it. Atleast I couldn't tell. Kind of a bummer.

Stopped in on our way to the Saturday market and grabbed a slice so we could use their bathroom LOL The pizza was incredible (and I don't even like pizza)! We'll definitely be back soon!

Grabbed it to go and went to Biergarten!

Woowwww - pizza is huge. We got the potato one because of how much I love Majkas. This one is diff I felt like there was ruffle potato crisp chips on this. It was super soft and fluffy. Exact opposite of Majkas. So, just depends how you like your pizza? (I like Majkas potato pizza more) But, this is still super yummy and had to get the jalapeño dip with it, not too spicy. However, I like Majkas dip a big more, it was more creamy? And I love how it is just next to Biergarten!!!

This is a quaint little pizza place recommended to me from my Dr at Sutter nearby. The logo is adorable but their pizza is even better. We ordered half cheese half potato pizza add sausage, it was $36 and well worth it. We got it to go and it took about 20-25 minutes. It was so hard not to devour it in the car! We will definitely be back

I was a plus one at this spot, so I did not pick it or order. My partner's brother selected the place and handled the order, and I just showed up ready to eat. We chose Pizzasaurus Rex because they offer a variety of vegan options, which is pretty rare for pizza spots. They had two to three vegan pizzas available, and honestly, they were not bad at all. My partner, who is vegan, was really happy with the selection. I love pizza, but I usually hesitate with vegan pizza because the cheese never quite hits the same. This place did a solid job with their vegan options, but for me, the non vegan pepperoni pizza was the winner. I loved the square slices, which were light and crunchy, and the pepperoni had just the right amount of crisp. Overall, a great option if you are dining with both vegans and non vegans, and definitely worth checking out. The spot felt relaxed and casual, with beer and wine available. It is a great place to hang out and catch up with friends, or to bring family for a laid back dinner like we did.

Insanely good and creative! Love that the slices are squares first off. The flavors are super fun and even the traditional ones taste more flavorful than regular slices! I'm so glad I was recommended the Dino eggs they were so tasty and the dipping sauces were both amazing! Service was so nice, very fast and very welcoming and kind. Fun to see them interact with regulars who came in as well. Great lil spot in sac with a super cute logo. Have been here once before with a friend for dinner here going out and the energy was amazing. Great quality and portion for your bucks! Def will be back soon.

Half pepperoni half cheese pizza for $31+ This pizza was not cooked enough for me

Today was the first time I ordered a regular size pizza instead of the slices like I normally do. Normally, I am in heaven with my pizza, but today, it just didn't hit the spot. I put in an order for a full size pizza with half pepperoni and half cheese. My sis got a sprite and I stuck with water. It was was such a gorgeous day, we decided to enjoy our pizza outside with others! The free water they offer near the front enters is gross. Definitely from the tap. I'm not sure if they offer bottled, but that'll be the route I go next time. The pizza took quite some time... I figured because it was busy and I requested it to be crispy. If the pizza tastes anything like the video I posted on here, it's absolutely worth the wait. It didn't come out crispy. I was pretty disappointed. To me it was undercooked, flimsy. Soft, but since my pregnant sister was hungry, I didn't want her to wait longer for me to walk back, and get it corrected because we waited a while already. I ate one slice and decided to box up the rest of my half. I figured I could fix it up when I got home. For me, Pizzasaurus Rex was missing that IT factor today. Zero crispy crust at all. It was soft, which made the rest of the pizza disappointing with softer toppings. We drove all the way out here for that crunch... that taste, but today's visit was about a good as going to the local pizza joint near my house, except a lot more expensive. My sister boxed her's up, too. We sat for a while so she could rest and then we were in our way. Today was a miss. Next time, I will step up to the counter if I have time or a not so hungry sister. Or even go back to getting slices because it's probably easier for them to crispy those up... and if I have to drive home to fix a pizza so it isn't so soggy, it isn't worth paying over $30 for.

Tasty pizza and good beers on tap in a cozy spot. We sat at the bar and they took our order there but you generally order at the counter. Pizza- we ordered by the slice and they were a thinner square style but very sizable slice. Pepperoni is my fave here. I wasn't as into the Dino eggs and could skip those

Pepperoni by the slice

Such a cute place! Staff was so helpful in helping us navigate our way through our options. We ended up getting one of each of the individual slices offered for the day and split them. It was the perfect amount. Now for the pizza! It was so good. The pickle pizza was the highlight. It was unexpectedly amazing. Each slice had their own unique flavor and was cooked to perfection. I recommend giving this place a try. It is so cute inside with their decor. They have outside and inside seating and the food is amazing! Definitely going back!

Pizza was great. They have the expected options, not too many but they do have supreme which was great. The service even accommodated so one half of the pizza did not have certain ingredients. The crust was not too thick and not too thin. There also wasn't a ton of sauce which I like.

Let's start with the positives: the service, the vibes, and the space are wonderful! I can't comment on the food. The beer though. I got a West Coast Pilsner, we literally came here because that is my favorite style of beer. The beer looked like a maple milkshake. It was murky with a grey-brown tint. Badly oxidized, and tasted horrible. I sent it back and got a lager...it looked good visually, it was bright anc clear. Then I tasted it and it was bursting with the buttery flavors of diacetyl. This beer had a slick, buttered popcorn jelly belly finish, rather than a crisp, mild hoppy bite. Maybe their ales are better than there lagers, but I didn't want to send back yet another beer. Maybe I should've though.

The bartender (Ming) is exactly what this kinda space needs: super personable, knowledgeable, supportive of the brand, and with a seriously interesting backstory. Dude plays for The Aquabats! Not afraid to talk to ppl, and understands the right balance between sharing his story and asking about yours. Unpretentious, comfortable in his skin, and clearly a good dude at heart. When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

I came to visit my friends and we went to a brewery to catch up. My friend just bought a house and was moving, as well as having her birthday, so her ID was expired which we were not aware of. It happens. My friend was going to log into DMV just so she can show a valid ID the bartender but another woman working came up exclaiming they can not accept that and she will not get a drink. My friend did not argue about it and my other friend and I got our beers and sat down. We just wanted to spend time and catch up. My friend with the expired ID did not even take a sip of any drinks and respected the policy, the woman that we talked to earlier about the ids then proceeded to come up to us and say that we were sharing drinks, yelling and being very hostile. We were all confused because in no way, my friend even touched or drank any of the drinks. She insisted to call the cops. We then asked her if she had any evidence such as video footage and she said she did not have any access to that and she did not have footage. She said we were breaking the law and she will get the police involved for underage drinking. She was being extremely hostile. THANK YOU BY THE WAY SHE IS IN HER 30s BUT BESIDE THE POINT THEY REFUSED TO PULL UP THE FOOTAGE AND CORNERED US WHEN WE WERE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We even encouraged to call the police then she started back tracking. Their lead came in. We again, asked for the footage and he then, unrelated, said they are on the verge of closing rather than taking any form of accountability or apologizing for how his colleague was treating us. We asked for a refund and would leave, we were so uncomfortable. He then proceeded to say we did not pay for the drinks and I had to pull up my credit card statement to even prove it, which is absolutely ridiculous. I got our drinks and paid/ closed the tab before even sitting down. We asked to talk to a manager again. Mind you, we asked previously, and got the lead. The manager just asked if we were from the Bay and shook our hands instead of actually doing anything about the situation. I saw her hug the woman that was accusing after we were leaving which is absolutely ridiculous. Why would you encourage that type of behavior to your staff. Profiling in 2025 is insane. I feel bad for my friends. I feel extremely uncomfortable. Discriminating and accusing just because we are the only POCs in the room is so embarrassing. DO BETTER- NOT EVEN AS AN ESTABLISHMENT BUT JUST AS HUMAN BEINGS.
