A friend and I stopped for lunch today. We were totally blown away about how phenomenal the food was. The fried calamari was the best either of us have ever had. The salad was fresh with a variety of veggies. The main dishes were beyond generous and extremely flavorful. The staff checked on us frequently to ensure we had what we needed to enjoy our meals. The last time I came here 5yrs ago I was turned off right on walk in as it smelled funny- have not returned till today. 5yrs later walking in has the same musty/old age home smell. This is really off putting if you plan to eat in which we did. I mean for takeout I might be less turned off, but I can't get past the smell! so odd I don't think I have ever been to a pizza place that smelled anything other then fresh cooking pizza Pizza was meh honestly. Got a ziti and a vegetable slice, both slices were so wet when picked up they not only folded down but they soggily broke off. Prob won't return for another 5yrs 2 specialty slices + 2 16oz Poland spring waters $12. Price not bad but the slices were a touch smaller then standard in most places. read more

This restaurant cannot be trusted. They chose not to reopen their dining room after COVID, so we rely on delivery. But they always lie about delivery times. When the food does not arrive on time they then lie about how long it will take for the food to arrive after our follow up call. They will tell you the food just left the restaurant, but it doesn't arrive. So we call a third time and find out the food still didn't leave the store. Why, Pizzarena? Your food is good, but we can't rely on you to deliver what we order. In addition to taking no pride in on-time delivery, you usually get our order wrong--delivering regular soda when we order diet, delivering garlic knots when we specified Italian bread, omitting a side order of meatballs that we ordered. After about 20 years of loyalty to you, we will now be ordering from other local Italian restaurants in order to choose one that deserves our future business. read more

It's delicious! I had the Sicilian thin pizza and it was very good! It was fresh but what I liked the most and what my taste buds could discern was a buttery crust and that made it delicious! The sauce is also great, I had it garlic knots and it didn't disappoint. Haven't ordered an entire pie yet but will do that soon. Def love this place. read more

Love their chicken cutlets sandwich, of course I tend to add and minus some items to make it my own. The chicken is hand breaded and not some frozen prepackaged chicken. Pizzarena has a large variety of specialty pizzas and which are all delicious. The staff is very friendly and the delivery service is almost always on time. Definitely recommend!!! read more

Ordered takeout yesterday and I can honestly say it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. Before I get into the food I'd like to note that all three workers in the store were not wearing masks. Ordered a Chicken Marsala entree and Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. The Marsala dish simply didn't taste anything like Chicken Marsala. It was just a mediocre chicken and mushroom dish in a very forgettable brown sauce. Then I tried the chicken on the salad and it must have been grilled in the morning and reheated multiple times throughout the day. I am not exaggerating when I say it was the consistency of beef jerky and even somehow tasted bitter. Threw out the meal and grabbed a slice of pizza from somewhere else. A very cold pizza, ( not even slightly warm), chicken piccata with a thick slimy lemon sauce. Couldn't eat it. A salad with mushy wet shredded carrots and cabbage. And 2 slices of white spinach which was so garlicky that we tossed it. Very disappointed. One star because they are always so friendly and polite. $57 and nothing to eat for dinner. I have been coming to Pizzarena for their pizza for many years now. Their pies are simply the best in Rockland County, and I have been a resident for over 45 years and have tried many other places. Tasty, the right amount of ingredients. The regular slice is spectacular and the specialty slices are also excellent. I have enjoyed dinners there as well and I think they are first rate. Besides the pizza, the owner of the restaurant is the single nicest, most welcoming businessman I have ever met. Rich is just an impressive, nice, friendly man who makes you want to come back to his restaurant. They have recently increased the size of their restaurant, adding a whole new sit down area and that made me feel great for Rich. I love their pizza. The crust is the perfect crunch. I have to share about their awesome customer service. I ordered half pepperoni and the other half with more toppings. They made the wrong pizza and on their own sent another box with 4 huge pieces of pepperoni bc the large pizza got all the extra toppings. I'm grateful they did bc it was for the kids. Everyone was happy bc they took it upon themselves to fix it! I've also had the shrimp fra diavlo and it was so good. The perfect amount of spice. I ate it all! I've been going to Pizzarena for years. I always felt their pizza is first rate and I will Continue to give them business. I stopped to have a quiet sit down before my meeting... An early dinner. My server was pleasant and quick on the mark. She brought my appetizer of mussels in short order. Unfortunately, quite a number (6 or 8) mussels hadn't opened and I'm not taking that chance. My entree came, canateli bolognese "with a hearty meat sauce", it was more like marinara with a trace of meat and was so hot (heat, not spice) I could barely eat it. It was okay... Only okay. I'll always go back to Pizzarena and their new store is very nice. BUT, with two kids in the restaurant, it was very noisy and I beat a hasty retreat. I pulled the "sausage" off the slice in an attempt to make it edible, three bites in and I just had to give up. Margarehetti slice, lacked flavor, dry and poor quality cheese, left most of that on the plate. Bolognese sauce, had to of come straight from a can, heat n serve, kinda Chef Boyardee-esque. Great service in the store. Guys at the counter and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. The place looks awesome since they renovated and expanded. Not so crazy about the food here lately though. The sauce seems to be getting more watery and usually a dish comes with way too much of it.
