Tasty pizza in Ri. Crust is crisp and chewy. Weird that it costs xtra for mozzarella cheese...shouldn't that be complimentary?

I love the bruschetta here though it's not like your typical bruschetta it's very good. I'm a New Yorker so for me the pizza isn't amazing to me but for Rhode Island pizza it's definitely pretty good. I prefer the pies with toppings over the cheese for sure here. disclaimer: this is for TAKEOUT ONLY. i have NEVER eaten in. my aunt used to live in westerly and now lives in pawcatuck CT, next town/state over. i visit once a week because my dog is there and she always brings pizza back on friday nights after taking the kids swimming at the local YMCA. i am a big pizza snob and this place has some slamming good pizza. the crust is FANTASTIC, there is plenty of cheese. just a very well done pie. i've only had cheese and pepperoni but recently tried the veggie pie. the only negative is that with veggie pizza's you really gotta grill/bake the veggies separately and then put them on the pizza for the final bake. if not (especially with onions) they drain and soak the middle of the pie and the slices fall apart when you take them. other than that.. it is the best pizza i have ever had. better than anything i've had in san fran, NYC, boston and i'm surprised to find my fav slice in westerly RI..... i'm definitely going to try eating in sometime.. update: i've dined it and it STILL gets 4 stars... decent beer selection, good service.. some of the pizza is just too watery.. ie shrimp and artichoke.. the broad street is the BOMB though.. get it.. one of the best purchased pizza's i've ever had read more

Great staff, but very mediocre food. The pizzas are small (same price as the local competition for a pizza, but literally only half the surface size), but the varieties are good. I ordered the mac-and-cheese for my daughter and was really disappointed that it was the cheap boxed variety that is available on your supermarket shelf for a fraction of a dollar. The new Broad Street Bar and Grill and Cafe Luca are much better! Very disappointing. Regarding the taste, the pizzas are okay; nothing to write home about. I'm wondering if all of these stellar reviews are from employees, friends or family. Also, its always really cold in the seating area, so wear layers if you plan to dine in. read more

I don't know how you can not love this place. The service is always so friendly and efficient, the food is always on point--although, to be fair, I haven't had many items other than the pizza and the antipasto. Their pizza is very well done, but it is so small, and they offer no other size options. Because the place seems to suggest having beer with their pizza ("pie n' suds"), it would be nice to be able to order a large pie for a group of people and dive in while you get a buzz. If you enjoy thin-crust Neapolitan style pizza, you have to try this place. The ambiance is great; large, spacious and well decorated. Right in the heart of Westerly, you can always expect a pleasant experience, great service and good food at this town staple. I'm a big fan. read more

5 stars is reserved for the best of the best of the best--i.e., New Haven or Brooklyn brick oven. It's not quite up to that level, but Pizza Place is very, very good, and is absolutely worth visiting often. Excellent pizza--we had the Rosie's special with sliced tomatoes and bacon. Really good salads, too. A very impressive beer selection for a pizza place. Plus a very comfortable, attractive room/decor, and very friendly, pleasant, quick service. I get the chopped pasta salad from them every week, its my fav!! The consistency varies however, sometimes its very good and sometimes it is so so. Their customer service though, is AMAZING! Whenever they mess up with my order, I give them a call back and they send me a gift certificate for the item. One time I went to pick up an order and they had accidentally given it out to the wrong person, they rushed my order and gave it to me for free. My favorite pizza place in Westerly - which says a lot since the town has over 20! The pizza is brick oven, thin crust with a large variety of toppings. My two favorites are cheese with jalapenos or the margarita pizza. They also have fantastic salads. Usually busy on weekends but the service is fine. read more

Can't say enough about this place. I live in Boston and when I'm home take out or dining here is a must. I don't really know where to start. Their chopped pasta salad is unbelievable. The pizza's all have fresh ingredients and they are super thin. I usually get the margarita pizza which is delicious or I get a "plain" pizza (which is a red sauce pizza but with less cheese than a cheese pizza) with bacon. Another delicious pizza. I also recommend their focaccia bread with a side of chutney for the table. The food is on point. I am a local so I am kind of biased when it comes to the service mainly because I probably know all of the waitresses either from childhood or just from dining there so often. But I can safely say I have never had poor service. Careful though during the summer. They get slammed and you will most definitely wait but it's totally worth it. read more

We'd been coming for years to get a meal to eat while watching "Shakespeare in the Park" (this is now past tense). Sooo, we waited in line for a half hour, got to the front and were told "no more grinders". Wouldn't it have been nice to put a sign up? We were not prepared with an alternative choice, so with a line of people waiting behind us, we just randomly chose a menu item. Getting our food took another 15-20 minutes. Walked all the way back to the stage, and....no forks! Walked all the way back to the restaurant, to be told "we don't put in cutlery after 4pm." Well then that's new since last year, because this is the first of six times that we had to special- request forks with our dinner salads, and we've ALWAYS come after 4pm. Probably the best pizza in town. Great atmosphere. Prices seem a little steep though.

Wow what a great find this was on a buiness trip into Westerly town hall. Was not going to eat here yet by chance walked in and took a glance at the menu. The place is open and airy, clean and smelled freshwith the aroma of garlic. There was a man making pizza dough and was wearing gloves which is a plus for me as a medical person. We were seated at a window with the sun shining in. On the table were these plastic boxes actually they were on all the tables, what were they you ask, why covers for the silver ware to keep them clean, as you are seated they are removed to expose the shining clean utensils. A triple plus for me. I read the reviews and the pasta salad by far was unreal! Chunks of Gorgonzola with soft mixed greens, a 5 star for me. I had the turkey sandwich, so good, and I hear the bread is shipped in each day from NYC so when they run out, it's gone for the day. All in all I say this is the place to eat when in downtown westerly. The service was great waitress all smiles, helpful, and sweet. Great experience and I will return because I want to try the pizza. Did not get it because I was going to have pizza for dinner. I will be back.... read more

My favorite pizza! I love their margarita pizza and black smith salad. If I could eat from there every day, I would. They just put a bar into their restaurant, too! You can sit down and watch the guys make the pizza right in front of you. They like to show off sometimes by flipping and spinning the pizza really high up in the air. Very impressive but whats even better is how the pizza tastes! My sister loves their Hawaiian pizza and my parents love the BBQ chicken pizza. Make sure you order some focaccia bread, too! It is located downtown Westerly right across the street from the library. I've lived in Westerly my whole life and being an italian town, we have many pizza places. Not worth the visit but they used to be. *** 09/07/2016. Giving them another chance I went online today to order a sub. The Italian sub menu price online is $10.45. They told me my order was almost $15! I'm sorry but I think a 35% increase is excessive. I cancelled my order and was hung up on. The pizza was awesome. The service was lacking. I was a little disappointed to find out that they would charge me extra for topping substitutions. I can't stand bell peppers and I asked them to take off the peppers and put on something like sausage or some other veggie. The server said she would charge me $3 for each topping substituted. I've only had pizza from Pizza Place twice and it is good. I actually enjoy their non pizza items like the chopped pasta salad more than their pizza. So to rate the pizza its 3/5 to rate most other items on the menu is 4/5. Good place. Give it a try. read more

Have been going there for years, have had both the pizza and the salads. Salads are good but lately when I order it seems like 1/2 of my salad is composed of cheese and the other 1/2 is a half head of lettuce that isn't at all chopped. Trying to eat that at work in the staff room makes me feel like a bridge troll chugging down some swamp greens. Can you cut your salads? Please?... And I love cheese, but when I order a salad I sort of appreciate Vegetables in it. Its kind of the point. I end up throwing most of the leftover cheese out, which is wasteful. read more

I heard the pizza was the best. I was not impressed by the taste at all. I ordered the steak and cheese and a cheese flatbread appetizer. My husband can make a pizza way tastier at home. It had no taste and the steak was bland too. The cheese appetizer which was $5.50 was more tasty but also not that good. Also the server was like I'm new. A lot of young staff. I have been here countless times. It is a very open atmosphere, great for kids and no matter what time it is, they always seem to find a table for us. The salads are so good and fresh that they could aptly rename the place The Salad Place. The pizza is very good. I have ordered most of the selections on the menu. The wait staff is polite and efficient while the young men at the cooking station always get the food out within a reasonable time. There is a good assortment of soups which I also enjoy. Ordered the Italian grinder, large and damn that thing is huge! The bread took up most of the size tho. I don't like it when the roll is so much that it takes away from enjoying your fill from the rest of the sandwich, pet peeve of mine. Food is excellent and most of the wait staff is awesome. I do believe at my latest visit the waitress was fairly new as it was the one and only time I have had terrible service there. Great thin crust pizza!! But terrible service): I ordered a large pizza over the phone and then got there to pick it up and was given a 12 inch pizza I could've eaten by myself. My favorite pizza. The simple margherita is the one with fresh, buttery mozz and bright bursts of tomato sauce, garlic and basil all in top of a thin, light, crispy crust. So perfect. Get it to go for a picnic across the street in Wilcox Park or eat outside on the patio. read more
