The garlic knots & pizza are great, no real complaints there. 2 stars is really based on the service we received. We got no refills on our drinks after sitting there for awhile after we had asked and it seemed like the younger blonde/brown hair hostess had a sour face and attitude when we asked for Parmesan for our pizza...which made us pretty uncomfortable. I lived in Westerly for a little over a year and frequented Pizza Place because friends of mine enjoy it. If I could choose, I'd go to Famous or Vetrano's instead. The pizza tastes good, and there are many creative options, but the value is absurd. It's "one-size-fits-all" pizza, so there are no small, medium or large options. For the sake of keeping it simple, their pies are equivalent to a medium anywhere else, except you're charged for the price of a large. One pizza barely feeds two people. When you review your bill, you'll wonder how two smallish speciality pizzas and a full size salad cost you over $40. You'll also still be hungry. read more

I was here for a Congressional event as a Volunteer for the VA and was quite impressed with this place. I would have taken some some pics but wasn't able to due to situation. The pizza was delicious and I tried several different slices. I'm not a big fan of veggie pizzas, but they had one pizza that I know my wife would have loved. The pizza had eggplant, sliced squash, asparagus, and tomatoes on it and it was phenomamal. Their regular pepperoni was good too. I have only eaten here a few times over the course of several years. like: the giant menu, full of lots of choices (so don't come here if your brain isn't working) the yummy food, especially the good pizza with a thin crust that I love, flavorful ingredients, large portions yummy salads, with decent homemade dressings, better than I expect from a pizza restaurant don't like: waitress was neglectful and I'm not sure why. I was ticked that I had to ask for everything--more water (a few times), fresh pepper, dessert menu. She also didn't clear the table much (pet peeve). the restaurant could simply refill waters instead of bringing an entirely new cup with a disposable straw. America, we have to stop using so much disposable plastic! Next time I'll remember to ask for no straw. The bathroom was pretty gross, smelled musty and pee-full, very messy floor and toilet paper. Perhaps they need to hire more waitstaff with more experience who tend the customers better as well as have a dedicated person to clean bathrooms. It's noisy with families, but also fairly large. You can sit inside or out. It really deserves 3.5 stars for the bathroom and waitress, but 4 for the food. read more

One of the best pizza places in RI. Love the location in downtown Westerly! When you walk in all you can smell is home made pizza... and you can see the staff slinging dough. I love that you can watch them making your food, I think that always adds a nice touch to establishments. The focaccia bread is a must. Thin, crispy focaccia bread seasoned with parmesan and oregano. make sure you get a side of marinara for dipping. Plenty for 2 to 4 people to share. You really can't go wrong with any pizza selection. On this particular venture we ordered the Buffalo Chicken. Nice thin crust, small chunks of buffalo flavored chicken (fresh), blue cheese crumbles, yellow and red pepper and onions adorn this heavenly creation. With our party of 3 this was perfect and we ate every last slice. Prices are quite reasonable and its a great place for a date, family night or a night before hitting the town with friends. I'd highly suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for a good bite in Westerly. read more

Excellent pizza! Went for lunch, and tried out the focaccia bread( a little too heavy on the oregano), a margarita pizza, and chicken parm grinder. Overall, very pleased with my first visit. Not to damper the review, however I was a bit disappointed the on the lack of staple appy's.. wings, fries, mozzerella, etc. Furthermore, no calzones on the menu which I felt was strange nowadays for a pizza. Seriously amazing pizza! Yum. The taste, texture, quality ingredients, and most of all the brick oven makes these pizzas amazing. Really one of the best tasting pizzas around. The place has a great atmosphere, even ok for kids. There other food is good but the pizza takes the cake. It is most certainly over priced and the reasons I only treat myself to it once or twice a year. The pizzas are small and only one size, too small for two people if you don't order something else with it. It's a shame their one size pizzas cost as much as large specialty everywhere else. Came here after an event at the park across the street. I've never been here before for the pizza, back when I was a very little girl this used to be a Bee Bees Ice Cream Place and THAT I remember going to. Anyway! Great location and quite open and spacious for a downtown venue. The service was good and when on waitress dropped a bottle of beer three descended on her to help clean the mess. Great teamwork and good eye toward cleanliness and safety. I had water with lemon to drink and the water was a good quality and a nice big wedge of lemon. The selections of pizza was huge and creative and ran from about $8-$15. Salads started at about $5. We ended up getting a steak and cheese pizza for about $12. It came out on thin crust and about a medium size. The quality of ingredients was incredible. Like someone had cooked up a steak and then chopped it up and put it on the pizza. Delicious! That said, if you're of the generation that's grown up with big old pizzas with your toppings for around $10 this might not seem like a good value to you. Still the location and ambiance add a light and special quality to your meal that's really good for a date, a special lunch with mom, or something different with friends. A friend and I tried Pizzaplace after driving past it ever since it opened. It was OK. The staff were super-duper nice and helpful. The decor is cute and they use high-quality plates (which makes food taste better in my opinion). The portion sizes were enormous. It took kind of a long time to get served, and the food was just OK. My raviolis were fine, but there was clearly a lot of water left in the plate when it was sauced. My friend had a grinder, which he enjoyed, but wasn't spectacular. I found this place by accident because I was still hungry from eating sushi and craving pizza! haha [review on that later]. My friends and I just got two traditionals and it was really really good. The pizza was nice and light with an amazing crispy crust! The sauce is nice as well but I think they could have put a little more on the pizza, maybe? After eating these, I would have loved to try the pizza with mozzarella. The traditional just has parmesan and romano cheese and that pretty much disappears when cooked on the pizza. So if I'm ever in the area again, I need, NEED, to get the mozzarella pizza, or maybe something even more extravagant! read more

I'll start by saying I've always loved the food here and enjoy the editions to the menu and restaurant over the years such as the bar and grinders. And it's still my favorite pizza around. I'm leaving two stars today however because my last few visits it's bronco more and more apparent that little care is given to the upkeep of the restaurant. I've noticed the walls and booths are dirty and have holes in them, the table cloths are all ripped and worn out, and half the light bulbs are blown. It just appears dingy and could really use a freshening up of the place. I hope it's cleaned up soon so I can give your stars back! read more

Oh, Pizza Place.... what happened. You used to be so good. Tonight, I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and chopped pasta salad. The pizza had way too much cheese for such a thin crust. The pineapple chunks were too big and kept falling off my slices when I picked them up. And whoever made the pizza barely tried to get the ham around the pie. There were thick piles of ham on every other slice. Overall, just not good. The lettuce in the salad was mostly wilted and starting to go bad. After I picked out the bad stuff, there was hardly any lettuce left. Since I placed the order to go, I wonder if they didn't care about what was in it. I used to be a regular customer but over the past year the quality has gone down hill. I couldn't put my finger on it. After tonight's meal, I can truly say it was really bad. When you order TWO Chopped Pasta Salads and provide CLEAR instructions for One with Extra Onion and One with NO ONIONS. You then repeat yourself to the point you can sense the order taker is "irritated" with your specificity. Little to no dressing on the salads to boot. AWFUL. A followup call to provide feedback leads to dead air. Should not have to inspect the orders at the register! Worst part is it's not the first time! Never Again! read more

The flavor combos are good and the staff is great but the pizzas are routinely undercooked. To the point where you can't pick pieces up at all. I recommend ordering pickup and putting the pizzas on a baking sheet in a 350° oven for about 15 mins before eating. read more

Well last night was my first time at pizza place. I saw all the good reviews and decided to go. When we got there we where seated at a table that had chairs on one side and a booth on the other side. The booth part continued along the wall and a table was seated directly to my right. Even tho the place was filled they put someone in the booth so he was sitting next to me. I was there to enjoy conversation with my gf and I could not even talk cause how awkward it was to have someone sitting in the same booth with me. Then we ordered the garlic knots and they where not good at all. Petes famous pizza is way better on garlic knots. Then we ordered a pizza and I guess they only have one size what they call a medium. When it got to the table I laughed at how small it was. I got all cheese and half pepperoni and it was 10.99. I usually pay that for a large anywhere else. The pizza was great best in westerly but the size was terrible! Parking is very bad however that is expected in westerly. read more
