    Meatball Parmesan Sandwich - Sandwich

Seen this spot in passing & it had everything from, nostalgia & great food. Service was excellent. Food was amazing. I see why they've been voted best in Jersey. Felt like I was in an old gansta hangout. Lol

The meatball is definitely homemade and has that unique taste to it. But I preferred it to be more well done, that's just a personal preference. The cheese used is worlds better than a lot a pizza joints who makes save type of subs. The sauce also was good. I'm not a fan of the hard roll and like I said earlier I would have preferred the meatballs to be cooked a bit longer. Other than minor differences, this place is legit .

Five stars for Pizzamore. The meatball parm might actually be the best in Jersey. The cheese was perfectly melted--gooey, rich, and packed with flavor. The bread? Unreal. Crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, holding everything together without falling apart. The meatballs and sauce were great too, but honestly, the cheese and bread steal the show. Winnie, our dog, loved the meatballs--she was all over it. The cheese pizza was excellent too: great balance of sauce and cheese, a little flop but mostly sturdy, and the undercarriage had that slight char that hints at wood-fired. Crust was so good Winnie went back for more. It's a tiny hole in the wall, easy to miss, but that's part of the charm. Some guy was just chilling there on a Sunday--might've been the owner or just a friend--but it added to the authentic, no-frills vibe. Nothing fancy, just damn good food.

PizzAmore is a small, hole in the wall joint located in a quiet residential section only a few blocks from Route 17. Be aware they currently close up by 8pm ( 7pm on Sunday). One of my proudest moments in almost 300 reviews... Owner John Speciale, from the old neighborhood I grew up in, is an infamous Foodie Savant. Owner of multiple pizzerias over the years, his current place is on the money. He has created the best meatball around and not just in my opinion. 3-years in a row award-winning best meatball in the state of NJ! (and I heard NY wants a challenge) If you grew up here in NJ , you know this is no easy feat. And this reviewer has had more than his share of Italian pizzeria food. Small menu but has everything you need. He must bake the bread he makes his sandwiches on because between the loads of fresh mozzarella, the tomato sauce, and those big, perfect meatballs, its the Best meatball hero. AND PIZZA ? I grabbed a few slices of Grandma-style pizza to go. In case you don't know, Grandma pizza consists of a sheet pan style pizza baked with mozzarella, plum tomatoes, fresh garlic, Pecorino Romano, and oregano. ( Note: he uses REAL deal Pecorino Romano, something that you may not realize can make something good into something excellent.) It was perfect. Even when boxing it up he added some nice basil leaves and sprinkled some olive oil on top. That's someone who knows how to serve the product the right way. Top shelf ingredients on everything. I gave up bread for Lent....I'm counting down the days to get back there and try other items, but I will never leave without some of those meatballs. Bueno! Mangiamo!

You know those meatballs your great grandmother sometimes made on Sunday after church that sat in the pot with the tomatoes, sausage, and braciole for what felt like hours while you and your cousin tried to hot wire your uncle's Camaro because he was too busy with his new friend Angelina to be bothered to take you to Toys R Us to get some new He Man toys before we ate dinner? Well, if you want to be transported to that moment in time, try the meatballs here. They're that good. Get a meatball hero. Bring cash. You can thank me later.

Sofia's is absolutely among those quality restaurants that should be considered the pride and lifeblood of Hasbrouck Heights. Easily one of the nicest and most family oriented Greek spots I've been to in recent memory. I strongly encourage anyone in the area to give it a shot and bring a group to dine in. The only negative I'd say is that the price can be a little over the top for some of the meal items, however, given the ambiance, the service, the quality and the experiences I've had there, it's a fair price. From cooking to salad dressings, Greek olive oil made from lemon, basil, and oregano is their liquid gold. Located on a busy Boulevard in the heart of Hasbrouck Heights, I finally got the opportunity to stop in at this BYOB family-owned/operated establishment. Upon entering for lunch after 4 years, Sofia's Mediterranean Grill, named after the owner's mom, I was greeted by the staff. I got a booth, immediately knowing how they get crowded. The inside evoked a cozy and warm vibe with Greek music playing throughout. Outdoor dining is available, weather permitting. Their menu features an array of traditional Mediterranean dishes, offering a variety of soups, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, meats from the grill, seafood cooked various ways, and entrees cooked from the oven. I decided on the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The food was authentic, fresh using the finest ingredients, delicious, and prepared simply, which is exactly what I was looking for. The portion was healthy. The service is always friendly and welcoming. I got to connect with the owner, Nick, a fellow Astorian, to catch up about the old neighborhood. The price was reasonable. If one's craving the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean, then look no further. One doesn't need to book a flight to Greece to enjoy authentic meals.

Turkish cuisine is a unique combination of flavors, spices, and herbs developed over thousands of years, influenced by the Central Asian nomads and Arabic, Persian, Italian, French, and Eastern European cultures. While New York has some great Turkish food if one knows where to look, most of it leaves some room for improvement. Could Jersey be better? The town of Carlstadt has mainly residential private homes, with a spattering of condos and garden apartments. The main shopping area is all of about three blocks long on both sides of the street. Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.

It's quick, affordable, and iconic. If you've had the cart version - very likely during a lunchtime rush eagerly awaiting a fresh hot-off-the-grill platter while standing in line with salivating hunger, or stumbling around NYC streets late at night in a state of cheerful inebriation - you probably won't be able to retrieve the same satisfaction from the limbic recesses of your brain, as that particular alchemy of anticipation, irresistible street food scent, and a dash of city chaos is not something that can be bottled in a more domesticated experience. So no, the franchise concept into a fast-casual sit-in restaurant won't replicate the Halal Guys of your memory. But what you do get is a more dignified dining experience involving tables, chairs, and climate control. It's the food cart equivalent of realizing one actually appreciates concert venues with seats. Not saying the GA floor pit wasn't fun, but having crossed over into comfortable suburbanite territory, I've made peace with my lack of desire to stand in long lines or eat my food sitting on a curb. We came here after shopping at the Costco located in the same plaza, and ordered a chicken platter, beef gyro platter, waffle fries, and a mango citrus refresher. The meat was a touch cold and the protein portion leans modest, but it was non-greasy, and piled with the salad fixin's and pita bread, made for a balanced and filling meal. The waffle fries are amazing! Perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside, and a good size for the price.
