Tonight for Mothers day I took my wife Lucy to Pizziola for dinner. From the moment we sat down to when we left we were treated like special guest. I had the baby lamb chop special and my wife the pasta , we started with some baked clams which were great. We killed the bread on the butter, lemon and clam juice. Those were the best lamb chops I've ever had , and four very large chops they were, just great. The potatoes, pea's and onions were a nice addition. Our waitress Diane was so nice and made sure we were satisfied. Then the ManagerJoe came by, said hello and asked if everything is OK. I could see he was keeping an eye on his staff and yet paid attention to my wife's comments which is pretty impressive. This place does not rush you and makes you feel relaxed and welcomed. We will definitely be back. read more

Mediocre pizza and an even worse attitude. Simple order, of the following: 1 regular slice, 1 sicillian slice and something else that I can't recall but I believe they were potato croquettes that weren't too bad. Anyways I asked for my sicilian slice to be heated up, i was then told that It's hot enough and was handed the slice on the tray with no say in the matter... Paid my tab, sat down and bit into a soggy luke warm slice with no flavor... Return to the counter ask for the slice to be heated up, get and attitude, heats it up for no more than 20-30 seconds hands it back to me again soggy and gross. End result threw everything in the trash except for my diet coke and left unsatisfied, hungry and annoyed. read more

I enjoy the food but i do not like the owner raising the prices too frequently and they charge 1.50 delivery charge which he doesn't give to the delivery person. Why???? I hate greedy owners. So i have to give an extra 5 dollars instead of 3 for the driver. Add that 1.50 by the amount of deliveries he is doing a week And its really just a way of robbing the customers !!! The high turn over rate in employees say enough of the unfair wages for the workers and delivery personell. Sorry but greed forces me to order from other places sometimes when i dont want to but the greed of taking and not sharing with his drivers irritates me!!! read more

I am writing this as I'm waiting for my food, and so far I have waited probably almost an hour for my food. This is crazy! People have walked in, eaten a slice of pizza and a salad and paid and walked out. Still after that I haven't gotten my food. Btw I ordered a 2 slices of pizza. read more

Best grandma slice in town. Reliably excellent pies every time. Delivery fee docks them a star cause that's crazy for a Long Island pizza place but otherwise it's pretty much my go-to for pizza. Well one of three anyway lol. read more

This is one of the best pizzerias in Long Island if not THE BEST! Order by the slice or a while pie! Perfect crust Great sauce and the mozzarella tastes homemade! They have a vast menu of Italian favorites of daily bests & specials that are always to die for! Additionally they have potato knishes that are as good as the ones I got as a kid. Their dough for calzones & superb Veggie pinwheels are a favorite as are their rice balls! The interior is inviting, the atmosphere welcoming & great for families w/ kids! The bathrooms are Very Clean as well! Takeout dine-in & delivery are all available too! Whenever I'm in Oceanside island Park or even Long Beach I must stop for one of the best Regular Slices EVA! read more

My husband and I ordered a stuffed artichoke and a chicken cutlet parm platter for delivery on a Saturday night, a little before 8pm. OMG!!! The artichoke was barely stuffed, under cooked and they didn't clean above the heart. It was still furry!!! They charged $10 for that. The sauce wasn't good either. Disappointed we moved on to the cutlet. It had an old texture to it and I'm not even sure it was chicken. Absolutely awful. This restaurant used to have really good food. It was always expensive but when there is quality it is worth it. This wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, this was the second time I had a problem with the delivery. I can't justify ever ordering from there again because the first time the "girl" who took the order tried to charge me double. read more

Horrible. Ordered food for delivery. The chicken parmigiana heroes tasted like microwaved breaded chicken cutlets, grizzly , soggy and cold. Spent $45 and only the bread and cheese were edible. How can you deliver food like this? When we've picked up food ourselves it never tastes like that? Done eating here as this was third time food or service was horrible. read more

I cant say more than this...this is WITHOUT A DOUBT the best place in town (or anywhere near Oceanside) for pizza. Grandma slice is AMAZING! Salad slice (when you can get one) is OUTSTANDING! Food....good, but not as good as the pizza. Get the pizza!!!!! read more

You're typical NY sit down pizzeria with Italian food. It's clean, fast service. Our waitress was friendly but didn't make herself readily available. Didn't check on us throughout the entire meal, and we had to flag her down for water refills. She was nice, just not available. I can't leave an extensive review on the food, since my friend and I only split one pasta: corkscrew pasta with a pesto cream sauce and grilled chicken- not too creamy or oily, quite tasty and would order again I took a star off for the waitress and her lack of availability, and the other star because I can't rate the place on food completely from one dish. If I return, I'd try something else and update my review read more

One of the many pizza places in Oceanside, but also one of or maybe actually the best one. I love their salad slice with mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, and tomatoes with balsamic vinaigrette, it's delicious. They also have amazing penne a la vodka. Anytime I come here I'm bound to see someone that I went to high school with and have successfully avoided for years, but hey that's life. read more

I love coming here, not only because it's close to home but they are one of few pizzerias near me who actually have really good gluten free options. read more

This place was pretty good. We were a table of 8 on a Sunday night. We ordered the avocado salad, linguini with clam sauce, grilled veggies, calamari, and a pasta and meat dish. That was just the appetizers. The calamari was delicious and had just enough spice( I even learned I like areibiatta sauce). Everything else was delicious!! The veggies were grilled to perfection and you could taste the char on them!! We ordered a pizza too. It was fabulous. My main dish was the grilled chicken primavera. It was garlics and again you could taste the char against the balsamic. By far one of the best chicken dishes ever. Can't wait to come back!! read more

The BEST Grandma slice one can EVER eat. Sorry Gino's but Pizzaiola's is better. My wife and I (and my whole church) are regulars at Pizzaiola. At least every other Sunday we are there. The staff is extremely courteous, Diane & Joe, are nothing but a CLASS ACT! Other waiters, as Dimas, outstanding. Even the busboys are very attentive and friendly. A family place that treats us, as friends... you can't beat it. read more

Now THIS is some good italian food. The pizza here is outstanding, and the regular food is as well. I've been coming here for years. So what are my favorites? 1- Mussels Fra Diavlo (my god so good) 2- Penne a la Vodka ( best you'll find on LI ) 3- Rigatoni Fiorentia ( My wife's favorite) There is nothing more to say about it, you just need to go try it! read more

My favorite pizzeria on Long Island. The wait staff and counter help are really great. Such a nice bunch of people that value their customers. Try the grandma pie! read more

This is our local pizzeria and we have ordered form them many times. Somehow we have not learned our lesson. Many wrong orders on delivery and pick-up. Tonight I ordered a personal pie with ARTICHOKE and received ANCHOVIES!!! My sons personal pie was cut so oddly one slice was 1/3 of the pie and the pizza crust was overlapping?? with no topping on part of it?? read more

Stopped in for the first time ever and grabbed a quick slice. Besides the annoying teenage guys at the counter, the pizza was really good! I'm tempted to try this place for dinner one day to see if the rest of their food is good, too! read more

So I never really had the pizza here but I have had several heroes from them. The meatballs are kind of bland and the sauce is weak. No real flavor to it. Maybe they should try salt and pepper. The heroes always look good but I end up seasoning them myself after I take the first bite and am reminded they have no taste. The sauce is also very watery. The garlic knots were very good. read more

Our waitress Eileen was very nice, professional prompt and friendly. The wait for our meals was long and I know it's not her fault, but it's frustrating when you see people come in after you, eating and you're still waiting for your meal. Our meals were ok but it's incredible to charge 2$ for ricotta cheese that was about 2 table spoons big. We spent over 170$ and then they charge for the cheese? Petty and money hungry tactic. Won't be coming back. read more

Yum, yum, yum, is all I can say! The best pizza in town. The garlic knots are delicious. I usually switch between the Sicilian and white pies and both are so good. The main dishes are delicious as well. My recommended dish from them is the penne Florentine. That pink sauce is absolutely DELICIOUS. Best pizza in town. read more

My wife and I went on last night for dinner. It was crowded for a Monday night and we were seated within 5 mins. However after taking our order we ate lots of the great tasting garlic bread because the food took about 20-25 mins to come out. But honestly it was worth the wait! The food was steaming hot just the way I like my food! My wife ordered the Penne Pizzaiola which was diced filet mignon, fresh ground veal and mushrooms sauteed in a sherry wine and plum tomato sauce, served over penne. She LOVED it and there was so much she had to take much of it home! ( can't forget about all the bread we ate) I ordered the Baked Penne Sicilana with Fresh Battered Eggplant and added sliced sausage to it (for $5). Amazing is all I can say and like my with wife, I had to take half home because I could not finish! I can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch! I have bought slices of pizza there several times over the years but never sat in the restaurant! I will be going back more often for dinner! We both enjoyed our food! read more

They have the best buffalo slice on Long Island, hands down! There's actual bleu cheese on the pie, it's so good. Their other slices are great as well. Highly recommended. read more

Usually the food is very delicious and we take out & eat in frequently so I am absolutely shocked to have found a STAPLE in my eggplant rollatini, which was part of our take out for dinner. It was just 1 and thank God I found it before my grandpa began eating. I am pretty disgusted and wondered how it got there so if I do return I will be sure to check my food thoroughly before eating it. I am giving it 3 stars because like I said I have never had an experience like this coming from them but can't get this one out of my head at the moment. read more

I've probably eaten here over fifty times but never again! There was a hair in my soup. A friend of mine just told me that there was a hair in his Ceasar salad last week, gross. The owner, who was fully aware and has known my family for years didn't even bother to come over to apologize. The chicken parmigiana was like rubber, it was not even chewable. So sad, this used to be our family place but the food just isn't good anymore, the quality has gone way down. The wait staff is tired and stressed and it's like they think they're doing you a favor. I will definitely never eat there again. read more

Very cheap on the cheese when we ordered a Sicilian pie. If you're looking for good focaccia the Sicilian pie is the way to go, barely any cheese. Still in search of a good Sicilian slice in Oceanside, I miss Brooklyn. read more

We have been coming to Pizzaiola for over two decades. It is simply the best Pizzeria on Long Island. Big Joe, Diane, Augie, Deemus, and the entire staff are the greatest. Don't be fooled by anything else that you read, it is not possible to be anything but completed satisfied after your meal at Pizzaiola. read more

Was it a lack of customer service or basic math? I ordered three meatballs and was charged for four meatballs. When I questioned the cashier the reply was, "this is what the computer calculated. I can't do anything about it." I was then dismissed while they turned away and assisted another customer. (The cashier WAS NOT a bored teen working a summer shift but a mature grownup.) You decide. read more

I have been coming here for years, at least once a week. Tonight I had the worst experience ever!! I dont mind waiting but when you sit 4 tables before me because of a baby carraige that I have an issue with. Clearly the 1st table sat could have accomadated the carraige but the young girls were more interested in sitting in sections instead of servicing the patrons waiting. There were 3 hostess at the stand not one seemed to know what they were doing. All young girls with probably no experience. The manager couldnt even get it together. My suggestion is to train your new associates more effectively so you dont lose any more customers. read more

First time in the area, saw the high reviews on Yelp so I gave it a chance. I ordered two veggie slices. Service was quick, ambience clean and pleasant. However, I'm giving only one star because of the lack of taste and flavor. All I tasted was texture--crunch of pizza, oozing of cheese and mush of veggies. The slices were too hot to detect any flavor or nuance thereof and even after doctoring them with garlic powder, red pepper flakes and salt, it was still only mildly flavorful. I'd give this place one more chance, but seasoning has to be added and cannot be replaced with the temperature of the food itself. read more

Was a customer for years. Beautiful renovation and the food and service were always consistent. If you continue to use the mumbling hostess from tonight it will definitely affect your business, it has already. If you can't discern the difference between a table and a booth maybe you're best suited for a different job. People stacking up and a waitress had to tell us to step around a group having a conversation in order for hostess to help us. read more

Pizzaiola is one of my favorite places! The menu is amazing with many options. They give very big portions and the food is always great. My favorite thing is the rigatoni fiorentina. The cheese is perfectly melted on the pasta. Another good option is chicken francese. The chicken to lemon ratio is just perfect and the chicken melts in your mouth. The service is amazing and I recommend this restaurant 100%! read more
