From the moment I met Nicole, I felt like I was reconnecting with an old friend -- she was so warm and genuine. I shared my wedding details with her, we hugged, and she was just the nicest person! Manager Alessandro was incredible. When I explained that we wanted an upscale pizza party for our out-of-town guests the night before our wedding, he went above and beyond to make it happen. He created a special menu just for us, allowed us to customize it, and even added a few extras. He kept in touch before the event to confirm every last detail. When we arrived that night, we were shocked (in the best way!) -- there were custom printed mini menus on each table! Such a beautiful touch. The food was absolutely delicious -- fresh, hot, and perfectly presented. The staff was so friendly and attentive, and they even boxed up the leftovers for us to take home. I purchased the stuffed artichoke. I was really looking forward to it! Turns out, it was tough and to me, not cooked enough. I could barely bite through the leaves. The heart, was also tough and I tried to get the choke off of it but had to throw it away. Very disapointed. The stuffing was good. Maybe a little too much garlic. read more

Used to eat here every Friday when I worked in Oceanside about 10 years ago and it was worth the 40 minute drive here today. First time back since before COVID and honestly--it's still just as good, maybe even better. The guy behind the counter took my order right away even though they were busy, which I appreciated. The chicken bacon ranch slice is STILL the best on Long Island. That slice just hits different i can eat 10 of them. Chicken parm and BBQ were both awesome too. The dough is exactly how I like it--thick and crunchy but still chewy and strong enough to hold a ton of toppings. Also had a breadcrumb Sicilian that was easily one of the best I've had anywhere. There's way too many mediocre pizza spots on the Island that get hyped up for nothing... Lia's is definitely top 10 for me, Still killing it after all these years. read more

We were in for a visit with a local friend who insisted we come to Lia's. Quite a treat! Monday night, so it was a bit quiet at 5, but we were given the royal treatment by the staff, especially our server Elsa. The food was hot and delicious on this hot night, started with mussels in a garlic broth and fresh Italian bread! I had the Farfalle Campagnola and my wife had the Shrimp FraDiablo. Elaine our host tried the Eggplant Parmigiana & we all enjoyed every bite we could finish, an took home plenty! We will be back here next time we are in Oceanside, absolute! read more

12 months later, and I've got an update! My in-laws catered Xmas dinner from Lia's. It was quite the spread: eggplant rollatini, meatballs, sausage & peppers, Caesar salad, and lots of bread. Delivery was 10 minutes EARLY! The driver was very courteous and even brought the trays right inside to the table. A nice added touch was the inclusion of a bottle of wine and some cookies. All of the food was very tasty: the meatballs were huge. The eggplant was flavorful. I enjoy the seasoning on the bread (it is a bit oily but what the hell), and the sausage and peppers were great. They didn't give me any agita as this dish often does. The sausage seemed pretty lean. Their Caesar salad dressing? It is the best I've ever had! I hear they make it in-house and you can tell. I'm not sure if it's the anchovies or what, but it's miles above anything in a packet or bottle. Contrast this with another local joint that delivered about 90 minutes to 2 hours late , lied to us about delivery times repeatedly, and delivered the hot despite it being ordered cold for later heating. Lia's is back in my good graces. Frankly I may not ever enjoy their pizza, but their other dishes are wonderful examples of Italian-American "red sauce" comfort food and their delivery/catering portions are top notch. Perhaps I'll try ordering a pie well done? I'd bestow that fifth star for some good pizza. Thanks for saving our Xmas Lia's. Okay Lia's okaaaaaaay. I think I found my Oceanside spot. Not gonna lie, the restaurants in this town kind of suck. Lia's reigns supreme. Had the Greek salad with grilled chicken and damn was it good. Also tried their pizza (buffalo and general tso) and is it the best pizza ever? No. But compared to every other pizza place here this is the best one by far. Hubz got chicken tenders too and they were good. Especially the honey mustard dressing. read more

Ordered a pizza last night, something I have not done in at least 20 years. I have eaten in the dinning room a few times and enjoyed it. We ordered a Margarita Pizza, Extra sauce, 1/2 Sausage. I arrived early and much to my surprise, the pie was ready. I paid the almost $40.00 and he hands me the box and it does NOT feel hot. I get it home and it was not good at all and i'm being nice. Not Hot, Not Fresh, No Extra Sauce!! This was an old pie they didn't even warm up. Shame on them for serving such a poor, old product. I am new to the place but already they lost me from this move. If you order from their website you can get specialty slices and half topping pies for pick up or delivery. Got house salad with house dressing (basically a balsamic vinaigrette), garlic knots and a pie half Buffalo chicken and half extra cheese. It came super quickly, hot, everything was great! I've also had their grilled chicken wrap which is not something I'd normally recommend from a pizza place but it was great, would ask for it toasted. read more

I never write reviews. I work somewhere that deals with that and know how it can hurt a business. That being said I have been a customer of Lia's for years. Tonight I ordered a pie (that's all) and an hour and a half later called back to see if it was coming. The girl on the phone was rude, and instead of acknowledging the fact that they messed up, tried to make me feel stupid and asked if I called Lia's in Oceanside. One star because you have to place one there. My family and I went there to have a nice meal in the restaurant part and we're enjoying a leisurely time. Then a little league softball team came in and they were yelling and screaming so much so that we couldn't even hear ourselves talking at the table. My wife was no more than three feet away. The staff didn't try to intervene at all in terms of having the adults wrangle the children a bit. I asked for my dinner to go and wrapped didn't and couldn't enjoy my meal. The staff should have done something but nothing was done. I have been I. The restaurant business since 1988 and have had this happen numerous times and would try to make up for the inconvience but nothing was done. Terrible experience wouldn go back! read more

Ok here's my take on my experience at Lia's. It's literally tucked in a dark corner of a strip mall of stores. I've seen it but not able to stop in because of time constraints when I'm in the area. It was a tiring day at work and I was hungry & remembered my dude Jase always comes here so I texted him. And guess what?! He was already on his way here!! Perfect! I ordered my food to go but at the last minute decided to stay because I didn't wanna sit in traffic and then Jase said he was on his way, Bonus! The staff were kind and accommodating and the food was Deeeeelicious!! The rice ball was the standout item for me. Crispy on the outside & creamy rice with just the right amount of seasoned meat & peas! Perfection in a crispy tasty ball! For my main I had the Linguine with Sundried tomatoes, Spinach & Shrimp in a pink sauce. Very flavorful. Shrimp were cooked perfect as well as the spinach & pasta. Yes, do as Jason C recommends. I called up and was put on hold for five minutes to be greeted by a dial tone. Called back and asked why I was hung up on . The girl was confused. I asked for the manager who identified himself Brave(sp)? I explained my situation and he apologized. I gave him the benefit of doubt and placed my order. The pizza was very good as were the mozzarella sticks. My recommendation to the owner is Train your Staff how to answer the phone and take orders. I've never seen a place that use to be reliable and reputable go down in my book so fast. It starts at customer service. I called to check on a delivery status as I was told one hour and it's over an hour and 20 minutes now. The girl who answered the phone sounded annoyed at the start. Then when I asked when I could expect the order she said "it's out". I asked if she had an idea when it would be here. She said "it's out" again and that was all she knew and hung up. Shortly later our order arrived and the delivery guy was beyond apologetic. The girl I spoke to at Lia's should learn from his example. This Lia's location was recommended by a coworker who regularly purchases pizza from this store. I decided to give it a try. One Saturday, I phoned in an order for 4 chicken francese dinners, with salads for sides. When I went to pick it up, the girl at the register was pleasant, and rang up my order totaling $98. The food wasn't bad, but I certainly wouldn't order this dish from Lia's again. Each entree had two breaded chicken cutlets DROWNED in a bland sauce, topped with razor thin lemon slices. It was pretty soupy. For the price, everyone found this dish pretty unremarkable. The guests I shared these entrees with did say that Lia's has good pizza, though. So I think that if I ever visit again, I'll probably stick to their pizza. read more

Hey Friends, Welcome to Lia's Pizzeria in Oceanside, Long Island. I want to thank my Yelp friend Jason C. for recommending this wonderfully authentic Italian eatery, it was so good. Stopping in, I was warmly welcomed and sat at a table by the window for lunch. Woah, I could smell the deliciousness of all Italy coming from their kitchens. I can't wait to try everything! To get started.. Let's have a corner slice of Grandma piled high with sausages. I also want that white pie just came out of the oven with the Italian San Marzano tomatoes. And don't forget the crispy potato croquet with hot marinara sauce for dipping. These croquettes are dangerously delicious. Unchecked, I could easily eat a dozen. I enjoyed the views looking out the window as I enjoyed my authenticly incredible lunch. Dessert? Of course.. I had to take the cannoli. These babies were packed with chocolate chips and sinfully delicious. The light crispy shells were pocketed with little holes and bubbles ..sooo yummy. They keep the canoli shells warm in a special little oven for maximum crispness. Then they're filled to order with Lia's secret recipe of creamy, sweet, delightfulness. The incredibly light and delicious cannoli was like a bite of heaven. Don't forget a half-dozen to take to go. I really loved this place and I can't give it enough stars. My go to pizza place whenever in Oceanside. This has to be hands-down, the best pizza in Oceanside maybe in Nassau county. The only one little problem sometimes when you order you order garlic knots, one day, you'll get fresh garlic the next day you'll get powdered garlic. read more

Growing up, Lia's was easily the best pizza in Oceanside, anyone who remembers when it was a few stores over and half the size it is now knows what I'm talking about. I moved out of Oside almost a decade ago and haven't been here since. That brings me to the other day when I was in town and decided to try Lia's for the first time since I moved. I wish I hadn't. After struggling to call in my order due to what seemed like an employee who sounded very flustered for whatever reason I was told 25-30 minutes. So I walk in after 28 minutes exactly. (Yes exactly since I don't really wanna be standing around other people in a packed place during the current pandemic.) I told the person behind the counter my name and he looked around at the ready pickup orders, then told me it would be around 10 minutes. Didn't seem busy at all which made me wonder why it was gonna take 40 minutes for a pie but ok. I go outside and wait. After 10 minutes I go back in and continue to wait. 25 minutes go by since he said 10 minutes (almost an hour since the the order was called in) and my pie is finally ready. Now if you're not familiar with the food industry, what happened was my order clearly got lost and wasn't started til I came in to pick it up. Now a decent employee would mention this before starting it to see if the customer still wants it or to modify it (I would have just gotten some slices and not had to wait 25 more minutes during a pandemic. But this is not what he did of course. I was lied to about wait time and still charged full price of course) This is extremely annoying but at the end of the day if the food was as good as it was back in the day, I would have forgave them... it was not. Not even close. Bad, very bad. Clearly not the same owners or people making the food. The price has gone way up and the quality of both food and service way down. A real shame. read more

It's great when it's good! Like today I got the "not today" one apparently. Center of pizza is so thin and soggy it's like wet paper towel. Called to mention it and they told be it's because there's mushrooms on it. So I guess if you want mushrooms, or a crispy crust, you may want to look elsewhere. read more
