What a delightful and charming restaurant The Bungalow is. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a beautifully decorated space that blends Caribbean, Hawaiian, and Mexican influences into a warm and inviting atmosphere. We chose to sit at the bar, where our bartender, Michaela, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. She recommended the jerk chicken quesadilla and the blackened fish tacos, and both turned out to be excellent choices. Before ordering, we enjoyed their award-winning margaritas, which certainly lived up to the hype. Following Michaela's recommendations proved to be the right decision, as every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. As we finished our meal, we found ourselves unable to decide whether The Bungalow was "really very good" or "very really good." Either way, everything we tried was delicious. First time at this spot in Oceanside. The vibes and decor were awesome. The margarita was just perfect! I love just a nice amount of salt too! I had the Cuban panini and the portion was so big. Stopped in for lunch as I saw a St Patrick's special on their Instagram, a corned beef smash burger. The burger was so good, if you want corned beef but want a change from the traditional dish or a Reuben on St Patrick's day, I absolutely recommend getting this! I also had an Irish Whiskey Ginger Highball & a Guiness Espresso Martini. Both drinks were good, and I usually don't like Guiness but if I didn't know that was in it, I wouldn't have guessed by the taste. The staff was great and I will absolutely be back again!! read more

We are a group of friends who meet for lunch weekly. We come to The Bungalow in Oceanside at least twice a month. Today we had an issue with a charge of 24 dollars for two side salads. We have always substituted salad for the chips. Never been charged for the substitution. If this is a new policy,patrons should be informed when ordering. The charge was removed but it took some convincing to get it done. read more

I was here for a wings and beer pairing so that's impacting my review since I didn't properly order from the menu. I can't comment on the price of food or variety. However, what I did have was great and I'd like to go again on a normal night. This could go from 4 to 5 stars on repeat visits. The service for the special event was great and food came out quickly. We tried four flavors of wings, Caribbean BBQ, Salt and Mike's Hot Honey, Buffalo and Sriracha Honey. All the wings were cooked perfectly. I am a Buffalo purist so that's always my favorite. From that perspective the Buffalo are very good. For the other flavors, I'd love to have the Salt and Hot Honey again. Additionally, we sampled the Pulled Pork Slider, Chips and Guac, Chimichurri Steak and Beef Empanada. The steak and empanada were great. We'd order those again for sure. The ambiance is a tiki bar vibe. It seems fun as soon as you walk in. Tonight's sampling was enough to convince us to eat here again for the full experience. read more

I was excited when I passed by the Bungalow for the first time because there aren't a lot of restaurants like that in this area! I tried it recently with my husband and it hit the spot! I love a good cocktail and these were delicious! They used fresh ingredients and unique flavors. The staff were nice and attentive. I got chimichurri steak, with street corn. The street corn was delicious, the chimichurri sauce was different than I'm used to, but complimented the steak well. My husband got some kind of shredded steak or pork dish and that was delicious too! We went at an odd time, so I can't speak to how busy it gets during dinner time. They have their own parking lot, which is convenient. read more

Came for brunch Sunday with friends and was sat immediately around 2pm. Very cute space and bigger on the inside than you would think from looking at on the outside. Service was great. The food was delicious and pretty affordable. $10 for a cocktail seems like a steal today (and it was strong too)! I had the pork tostadas which were loaded up with meat and toppings. Plenty of various food options for all and the portions are pretty big. They charge a 3% fee on credit cards and don't take American Express. Definitely will be back! read more

We went for the Wings of course I would rate them a 4/10 scale, I would not go back there and order them. They were small cooked. OK seasoned good but nothing special. The price was eight wings for $14, Which was ridiculous. The burgers looked good but we got shrimp quesadilla was good but not worth the price. I will not give this location another chance, but I will try the wings in Long Beach. I hope they're not the same. read more

First time coming to this location, my friends and I are a big fan of the Long Beach location, so we were excited to try his one out. We came for brunch and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the drinks are strong but tasty. With the radio music and card games on the table, the ambiance is very early 2000's which I absolutely love. Came in to pick up an order at the estimated pickup time and was told that it'll take ten more minutes. Not sure why there was a delay considering the restaurant was practically empty, but fine. I take a seat. At some point while I'm waiting, someone from the kitchen brings the order out and places it by the hostess, the same hostess I checked in with who knew the name of the order I was waiting for. Instead of using an iota of brainpower to explore the possibility that that order was the order I was waiting on, she continued to aimlessly stand there. So just to be clear, at this point, I'm still sitting there, waiting 15+ minutes in an empty restaurant that's about to close, for an order that is also just sitting there getting cold, under the impression that the order still isn't ready. Eventually, the bartender, who ironically was the busiest and furthest from the bag's location, took the initiative to ask the hostess if the order that was sitting there was the order I was waiting on. At that point, there were maybe five employees together in the area all coming to the same baffling realization of their collective negligence. The bartender was the only worker who tried to be on top of things, but there's only so much she can do when her coworkers are useless imbeciles. Wasting 15 minutes of my life sure is an inconvenience, but not worth leaving a bad review for. It was the sheer lack of communication, logic, attention, and efficiency of some of those employees that is particularly jarring, especially that seemingly brain-dead hostess, that compelled me to leave this review. I didn't like the flavor combos in the Waffle Benedict (quality was good but the flavors did not mesh), but the specials they had including their sweet roll bites were really good. Everyone else in my group was happy with their entree. Really big portions too, so felt like it was worth the price. The ambiance was ok but it felt a bit cramped inside. Came here with my date for the first time because the scenery looked nice online. The ambiance was ok and so was our server. We ordered a round of vodka shots and they were so diluted we ordered a second round to make sure we weren't mistaken. After we get the second round, they were again so diluted we asked our server to try our drinks so he could see for himself. He declined then apologized but almost as if he already knew. Didn't offer to replace or exchange our drinks. Now I see why most of their customers @ the bar looked no older then 23 yrs old. Do not go here unless you wanna waste money. What drew us to The Bungalow was the Cuban Sandwich on the menu. Not many places can claim to make a good Cuban. The hardest part to get right is the bread. So we ordered a few things including the Cuban and we were not disappointed. One of the best Cubans around. All the food we've had so far has been delicious (we've only ordered out so far).
