Large and meaty, good sauce

we stopped in today after seeing some great photos of their food. We most certainly were not disappointed! Pizza, wings and spaghetti all got thumbs up! We are excited to visit again and try more of the menu. Bob, the owner I presume, stopped by to chat and check on us several times which I liked. The pizza crust was outstanding!

I was visiting High Point and I dined at Pizza Vino with my mother today, November 10th. When we got there it wasn't busy but after a while many people started to come in & I can understand why. I ordered a chicken Alfredo pizza and a side of fries, and it was quite tasty. I also am a big fan of cheerwine and was very delighted to know they offered it as an beverage option. Our waiter was a young woman name Natalie. She was very sweet, attentive & transparent with the delays occurring in the kitchen. I would definitely go here again next time i'm in town.

dear god where do i even start. so i called in for delivery and ordered an Eggplant Parmigiana SUB. I made it clear i wanted the SUB. GUESS WHO DIDNT GET A SUB? IT WAS ME. No what i got was a dish of spaghetti, marinara sauce, and after further examination, fried eggplant that probably shouldn't be served to anyone for the sake of their safety. so that's fun. it costed me $23.... TWENTY THREE DOLLARS. For me to get some soggy noodles, in an aluminum tin with 2 inches of LITERAL GREASE in the bottom, covered by some past expiration date eggplant and marinara sauce. the garlic bread i got is LITERALLY GREEN. GREEN. tell me what universe exists where garlic bread is supposed to have a green tint to it? there isn't one. it's also so soaked in grease that it looks like it's just been dipped in a bucket of melted butter and soaked for a few minutes. the person who took my order wasn't very attentive (obviously) because otherwise i would've overpaid for a mediocre sub. which was at least what i had planned. this meal is something you'd see coming out of an unmanaged restaurant from "Kitchen Nightmares". Gordon Ramsay would be ashamed and i am never going to take my chances with this place ever again.

Barbecue chicken pizza is awesome!

Loved the Stromboli and tortellini. The portions are huge, you can make several meals out of an entree. Always fast!

Excellent food and service. I especially like that they only use olive oil in their crust.

I had one of their meatball subs and I can honestly say that they make the best meatballs I've ever had! Can't wait to try other menu items!

This was our first time at Giovanni's. We have been curious about it since moving to the area but…read moreit's never been open during the times we are driving by so I made reservations for a birthday dinner. Even though I had originally made the reservations for outdoor dining, the weather did not cooperate but it was not an issue and they had moved us inside per my reservation request. The hostess was very friendly and polite and we were seated immediately. Our server Denise came over quickly and was very friendly. Ste asked if we had been a guest before and offered some recommendations. She brought out some fresh baked bread with olive oil and balsamic for dipping - the bread was FANTASTIC! I ordered a Limoncello Martini and a bottle of Merlot, as well as the Burrata and Prosciutto appetizer. The appetizer went fabulously with the bread! The appetizer had a bit too much olive oil and balsamic in the bowl- just a drizzle if both would have been sufficient, especially with the little side plate of both that comes with the bread, but was still great! We then ordered the Lobster Ravioli and the Spaghetti alla Carbonara for our main dishes. The Lobster Ravioli had great flavor and had a good amount of lobster filling but WAY too much of the cream sauce. It could've had 1/3 of the sauce and been just as good if not better. The Spaghetti alla Carbonara was ok. Definitely NOT a traditional Carbonara. It was more of a Spaghetti Alfredo and again WAAAAYYYY too much sauce that was definitely more of an alfredo sauce than a traditional Italian Carbonara dish. I brought it home to add broccoli and chicken to the leftovers so not completely disappointed but wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the Key Lime Pie and Tiramisu desserts to go. The tiramisu was definitely not a traditional tiramisu as it had a heavy chocolate sauce/ganache on top rather than the traditional cocoa powder dusting but was ok. A tad on the thin/soggy side. Would probably not order this again either. I will say that the ambiance was great and the staff was so friendly! The appetizer and martini were so good that I will DEFINITELY be back for the appetizer, service and to give something else on the menu a shot. We are looking forward to hopefully being able to enjoy the outdoor dining next time and will definitely ask for Denise again.

I didn't think I could write a one star review but yeah. This deserved it. And unfortunately my…read morelobster ravioli was delicious but the service was horrendous. I went with my friend I literally went right after work and he got a lasagna and I got the lobster ravioli. We were sitting in the bar area and it was nice and clean however you can hear the kitchen staff in the back today and they were arguing. My ravioli was great the house salad was good but my friends lasagna was lacking meat and he told the waitress/bartender this so she took his plate back. The OWNER came back out with the same plate saying that the meat is very ground up and chunky and claimed my friend ate most of it and that he refused to keep making pasta dishes and that he'd come back with something else. Which he did, he came back with some random rigatoni dish that neither one of us ordered. My friend said that he wasn't going to eat any of it and that he'd still pay to which the owner turned around and said that my friend of course still had to pay for the lasagna that he barely ate. He left after that and never came back outside Two of the waitress's came back apologizing, and a couple who was sitting nearby also expressed disappointment. The waiters added that the owner had been belittling them all day and I told her that the lobster ravioli was amazing and she said she'd tell the chef but he walked out. I would give negative stars if I could.

We recently had a lunch time meeting at work and had pizza delivered from Rome. We order 7 pizzas…read morea few days in advance, 2 cheese, 2 pepperoni, and 3 meat lovers. With plenty of notice, this was no issue, and they were actually 20 minutes early making the delivery of a stack of hot pizza's to our office. We had minimal interaction with the staff, only the driver, who was friendly. The pizzas were all tasty, and as i mentioned delivered hot and ready to eat. They didn't skimp on toppings, especially for the meat lovers pizzas, they were loaded up. The crust wasn't anything that WOWed me though, it was soft, and thin, but lacked any real flavor. But any pizza is good pizza in my opinion. Their pricing was fair, and they delivered as scheduled!

Mixed bag is the best way I can describe the times I have had food from Rome Italian Pizza. I…read moreactually grew up in High Point, but had never eaten inside the actual restaurant until a week ago. That said, I have had pizzas either by take-out or delivery several times over what has to be 30 years now. Lately, I had a couple basic pizzas from them at a function in downtown, and we also stopped in for lunch on a total whim, wanting a pizza buffet. First, the pizzas over the years. I would say, on par with most of the locally owned pizza and local franchise spots around, like an Elizabeth's. Sometimes, I would describe the pizza as dry, other times, the sauce ratio is a little better and it is quite good. The pizza is a solid 4 stars, I would say, if you're considering a pizza... go for it, decide for yourself. Now, our most recent experience inside the restaurant, was simply not a positive one. We came in around 1pm, wanting to do the pizza buffet. Unfortunately, looking at what was available, it just wasn't appealing. The pizza was very cold, it needed a refresh. We expressed this to the waitress. If she had said "we'll make you a fresh pizza of whichever type you want" we'd have been game. That's not the response we got, so we moved on to hot subs. I ordered the meatball sub, my wife ordered chicken parm. The meatball was, just ok. The meatballs themselves were sliced and warm, sauce was the same I was used to from the pizza, cheese could have used more time to melt, but overall... I was OK. Her sandwich, was not good at all. She did write her own review about it, and I happen to agree. It's generally expected that ordering a chicken parm sandwich at an italian pizzeria is going to be a breaded cutlet. What was given was the shaved chicken that you would normally see if someone orders chicken on a pizza (not my thing, but to each their own). The result was very very dry chicken. The sandwich sat on her plate with two bites taken out of it for the meal duration. No prompt was given for whether we enjoyed our meal. In all, I learned my lesson that day, that this place is good for a fresh pizza. I'll only go that route in the future. The sandwiches were simply not our preference. The chicken parm needs to be rethought, or better explained as shaved chicken.
