Placed an online order. My husband couldn't figure out how to add double pepperoni, which he's done in the past. Estimated time to be done was 8. My husband arrived at 7:50. The restaurant was clean and the staff were nice. Our order was simple: side salad with Italian, a 12" pepperoni pizza and 3 garlic knots with ranch. When my husband arrived, the salad and pizza was ready, but when the person he spoke to read the ticket he realized the garlic knots had not been made at all. My husband asked about the double pepperoni - Mario's no longer allows double toppings after 4pm on the weekends. When the garlic knots were done, my husband and our food came home. My husband's name was on the salad bag. The pizza box said "Mike" - spoiler alert, that's not my husband's name. No issues with the salad. He was disappointed because there were white onions on the salad and he didn't add any to the pizza because last time they had red onions. No complaints with the salad. We ordered 3 garlic knots, but they must have felt bad as they gave us 6 - with marinara, not ranch as asked. The kicker was "Mike's" pizza. Mike must have ordered a cheese pizza and then never picked it up. Pepperoni was added and it was tossed back in the oven long enough for the cheese to melt around the pepperoni, but not long enough to reheat the whole pizza. Nice try Mario's, but we're not impressed. It will be awhile before we order from here again! read more

Still a solid option for pizza, especially if you are just looking for a couple slices. Some co-workers of mine from way back in the day used to call this place "Wagon Wheel Pizza" because the slices are big enough to fill the area between the spokes of an old fashioned wood wheel! Gotta love a good southernism. I still like a whole pizza fresh when it comes to this style. Unless you happen to come at a busy time (actually prefered in this case) you may be getting a re-heated slice that could have been out of the oven for quite awhile. Reheating pizza by the slice to order is of course a common industry practice, but once they sit a bit too long, your end result can be less than ideal. If I think I can eat the leftovers, or definitely if I am sharing with someone, I definitely go the full pizza route. All in all, while I don't tell anyone to rush to Mario's because you absolutely have to have it, it is as reliable as they come at pretty much any of their locations... and that is much appreciated. read more

The cashier was super nice. They have ample seating with TVs playing sports. I ordered pizza slices for the kiddo and a Greek salad for me. My Greek salad was delicious! It was a very nice size salad. I loved the huge peppers and olives. The chunks of cheese were so good. The ranch dressing was homemade...very tasty. I've been to Marios before--always for the lunch special. I happened to be back in town around lunch time and needed something quick! Holy cow, I am not disappointed! I ordered the lunch special of one slice, a side, and drink. The cost was $10.50 (with tax). It was more than enough food and definitely worth the price. I ordered cheese pizza and fried zucchini. Both came out piping hot. I started with the zucchini, which I've had other places that got soggy because of the moisture in the plant. This fried zucchini was perfectly crisp and well seasoned. It comes with ranch but I asked for marinara. I tried both and they both hit the spot with the zucchini. The pizza was your perfect slice! And huge! It had a good flavor and a crisp crust, which is my typical complaint with a pizza. This was just great! Come hungry, even at lunch! You won't be disappointed! read more

We ordered a pizza with extra cheese to eat at the restaurant and a pizza with green peppers to go. The pizza with extra cheese was lacking in cheese. The amount of peppers on the to go pizza was limited. Cost of $40 = poor value. This was not close to being a NY pizza. Finally at a cost of $40 , considering there was no waitress service, makes this a very poor value. Giving them a 2 star rating would be very generous. Solid pizza and good tasting pizza. It's a huge NY slice, but a bit thicker than usual NY slices. Very clean restaurant. I appreciate that you can buy by the slices and not have to get a whole pizza, (especially at about $3.50 for a giant slice of cheese pizza is great alone). I also appreciate the topping options they have, though I wish the jalapeños weren't so thick and not pickled, which was pretty overpowering and had to pick a lot off! Aside from pizza there is a huge variety of options on their menu from strombolis, subs, salads, pastas etc. A lot of appetizers as well, though I have to note the pricey wings (6 for $11 or 12 for $19!). The lady behind the counter was nice enough, but nothing really noteworthy. I decided on a chicken parmigiana sub. The cashier informed me that they had a special with the sub, one side and a drink. I think it was $12 or $13. Pretty good deal for the size. I loved that they had interesting options for the side such as mozzarella sticks or garlic knots. I decided on the garlic knots and these were pretty disappointing. They were just cooked a little too long and really lacking in flavor. The chicken parmigiana sub was a solid portion, even for the small. It was hearty and I really liked the chicken, but I felt like it was lacking in flavor a little bit as well. Maybe it was the sauce but I just feel like it could've used some spice - even fresh basil would've been a nice touch. The meatballs nor the sauce really had a ton of flavor unfortunately. Overall it was fine but it could've been better. Standard pizzeria with pizza, sub and pasta options. When you are out and about and you realize you still have to feed a crowd back at the house this is the way to go. I called in and asked about any special they had and the 19 inch one topping pizza with garlic knots was recommended. Let me tell you, it was hard to not break into this pie on the drive home. The crust has that quintessential crunch with a decent amount of chewiness. Good selection of quality toppings. Always baked to perfection. I hate when the cheese is barely melted and that's never a problem here. In fact you can specify on the convenient app how well you want it done. You just have to really visualize the size of the pies here because their large is mahoosive. I have significantly over ordered here to the point the thing barely fit in my car! THE ABSOLUTE best pizza in the area hands down. No one else, and I've tried no less than 8 others, comes close to New York style....true pizza. I really like their pizza.The pizza has a crust reminiscent of the standard pizzas we got in New England. I also like the restaurant itself. It is warm and welcoming and entices you to eat there and not just takeout. I found it interesting that the worker who took our order seemed like a pro. Their calzones are huge! It can easily feed three people, it's that big! The calzone itself is good, but it's not amazing. It cost around 10 dollars including taxes, but it's good considering it only cost 10 dollars. In regards to their pizzas, they are okay. One pizza slice fills me up. If you want things done a little differently, DON'T ASK! It's just a small thing but I don't like to get a 2 inch strip of green or red pepper when I bite into a pizza. I would rather the peppers be chopped into smaller pieces so that they cover the pizza better and you get a more even distribution per bite. You would think that such a request would be met with a smile and a "Can do," right? WRONG. Not at Mario's. The request to simply chop the strips of peppers into smaller pieces was met with, "No, we can't do that!" No smile either. Just a look of contempt that someone would make such a ridiculous request. This is always a great place for pizza and any Italian food you may want. Only issue with this place is that it gets busy very fast and they are somewhat slow moving at the register. The food more than makes up for it. They are always willing to make reservations for large party's.
