George's is a hidden gem in the triad, and I'd argue some of the best chicken wings you're gonna find in the area. If wings aren't your thing, the pizza is always phenomenal too. Tucked away in a small strip of businesses off Main Street, it's an unassuming place that is easy to miss but is a must stop. It definitely is more "bar that serves good food" and not a classic pizza place. Service is always friendly and fast, the food is always good, and the drinks too. It's a small location sometimes cramped when they're busy but worth the wait. The only downside here is they close abnormally early for a pub so you've got to go early! read more

George's Pizza is a tough place to rate. Despite the name, it's a lot closer to a bar that does food than a real pizzeria. By the standards of the former, it's better than you'd expect. By the standards of the latter, it's nothing special. We ordered a medium George's Combo pizza (pepperoni, sausage, beef, green peppers, and mushrooms) and an order of fried mushrooms. Food was read on-time, and it looked good. The pizza was generously topped, and the mushrooms were a nice golden brown. Those mushrooms were addictively good. Dip them in ranch, and you'll have a hard time stopping yourself from eating more than you should. The pizza was more of a mixed bag. The toppings were tasty as was the sauce: robust with just a hint of sweetness. However, the crust was mediocre, and $20-plus seemed steep for a medium pie. This was our first time here. For a Sunday afternoon, they were pretty busy. The place is not huge and the bartender was waiting tables too, so there was a little bit of a wait for service. Nothing major. We shared the Reuben and the cheese steak sandwich. We picked loaded tots and onion rings as our sides. The Reuben was excellent. The other reviews don't lie. Came in for lunch while working in HP, ordered a house salad and pepperoni pizza. Pizza was so good! Salad was okay; I've had way better basic salad for the price($7). Mind you they have no signage of whether to seat yourself or wait to be seated and for someone trying to support a small business and being a first time customer, I was clueless. The server was nice but she was the only 1 for like 6-7 tables so waiting time was high for things you needed. I would probably not come back to dine in, I would order a pizza to take out. FIRST off: we LOVE George's Pizza, but it's REALLY not convenient for us and there's easily 10 different pizza joints within a 5 mile radius, so it's difficult to justify the drive. We'll do take-out at George's about once every two months and the food NEVER disappoints ! Tonight we picked up our order and once we got it home, it was wrong. Completely different pizza than what we ordered with a potential 30 minute round trip to go back. I called the restaurant and the response was immediate, professional, and PERFECT. Even though the kitchen had JUST closed I was assured that they would deliver it to our home ASAP. So it's like a dive bar crossed with a pizza place with some sports bar thrown in for good measure. So here's how it shakes out... I ordered wings, xtra hot. They were great. Crispy and spicy, not skimping on the sauce. Not too big or too small. Definitely 5 stars for our wings. We got a pizza, and it was good. Not 5 star good, more like 3-1/2 star good. Some locals recommended this place to me and I am so glad they did! No longer am I a passer by!! This is now on my rotation. The menu has something for everybody, pizza, of course, wings, sandwiches and appetizers. The wings are really good here, better than a wing only shop close by, and much cheaper. The wings are larger and have a lot of meat on them. Always cooked up just right. Sauces are equally as good. The loaded tater tots are off the charts. Really. Its the only choice and will blow your mind, and taste buds! Take a large order of crispy golden tater tots, add mozzarella cheese, and plenty or fresh grilled and chopped bacon!! Sure, you gain a pound just by smelling them, but they are worth it!! The to go orders are packed with care. Wings and other items are wrapped in foil and then in a clam shell, then a bag for safe transport. This place just rocks. Stop in today and I am sure you will agree. We found our own seats, as no one greeted us, and found the menu already placed. Server arrived, whose appearance matched the vibe and demeanor of other patrons, who got our drinks. We were off and running like the drag races on the TV. Pizza and wings arrived at a decent speed. Wings extra crispy, per request, were good but light, very light, on sauce. (Which u could tell were not homemade sauces). Pizza seemed to have homemade crust with out of the can ingredients. Could've been so much more with just fresher ingredients. I used to live near Oak Ridge and George's has a take out spot out there and me and my fiancé used to get their pizza weekly..sometimes twice a week! Then we came to George's in HP for the first time and we fell in love! The pizza and beer were tasty, the atmosphere with the people who work there weren't the best. This is the type of place where everyone is a regular. Our waitress was nice, but she was nicer to the guys at the table I was with didn't really pay me any attention. There was an older lady who brought our beers to us and didn't say the right beer anyone had ordered so we looked confused and then our actual waitress comes up and gives them to who they belonged to..the older lady I felt got upset about it and made a side comment when she left the table. After that our waitress was short with us...so I can only imagine the shit they talked when they were in the back! Ha whatever!! They seemed miserable anyway. I read the reviews before when here. It's very close to my house. And I wanted something quick. People are right! The wings are amazing. They are full wings cut into drumsticks and wingettes. They were cooked very well. I got the mild next time I'll get the barbecue but they needed no sauce. They were delicious on their own. The pizza I got a pepperoni pizza. They have OK pizza at best. (They put sugar in the sauce you can taste it, so if you're a northerner like me you won't like it) otherwise it was pretty OK. Or you could taste some flour on the back of the crust in certain pieces not all of them. The topping were good. (pepperoni and cheese) I also got a order of tots.
