I have been here twice in one week and absolutely love Corridor. My husband and I came here on…read moreValentine's Day for their second Saturday chef dinner and it was divine. Sadly, the only photo I snapped during our visit was of the menu because I didn't want to be on my phone + it was communal seating, so we were busy make friends and eating delicious food. We loved one of the bottles of wine that was paired with one of our courses, so we put in an order for one. I got called that it was already ready for pickup a few days later, hence the second visit so soon (turned my wine pickup errand into a lunch stop with my work besties). The second Saturday dinner was an absolute blast. From 6:30-7 they had 3 of the most incredible appetizers and glasses of champagne during a little social (half) hour. Then we all transitioned to the main dining area to start the rest of the paired courses from 7-10. They have limited two top tables along the hallway going into the main dining area, so everyone else was paired with another couple or groups of people, depending on if you sat at a table along the back wall or one of the big dining tables. We sat with another couple along the back wall and it was really fun getting to know them over the several hours everyone was having dinner and wine together. My husband and I are usually very introverted, but a few glasses of wine definitely makes me feel more brave lol. Each course was equally delicious, but the ricotta-stuffed beet tortellini was my personal favorite. The staff told us a little bit about each course after everyone had been served and they let us know the chef handmade all of the pasta and intentionally had a heart-shaped indentation on them when they were folded together for Valentine's Day. Each dish was so creative and paired perfectly with each wine that the sommelier poured for us. Overall, such a fun experience and an interesting way to spend Valentine's Day. When it was time to go back in and pick up our bottle of wine I asked a couple of work friends if they wanted to go with me to have lunch there. We also sat at a table on the back wall so my pregnant friend could be more comfortable (booth type seating on the back wall and then chairs on the other side). My other friend and I each got a Prosecco split, which was delicious. I also got a cappuccino because I can't pass up a coffee from anywhere, it would seem. I got us the marinated olives to all try and they were really good, with a fruity kick from the citrus peels added in. All three of us got the tuna melt and salad and it was really good and warming for the chilly day. All three of us felt that the tuna was masked by the cheese and peppers/onions. It is definitely a good sandwich for people who don't like overpowering fish flavor, but we all like tuna and wished we could have tasted it a little more. I can't wait to come back and try some more pasta dishes.

Such a cool spot to eat lunch during the week. You don't realize how large it is until you get back…read moreinto the seating area. Delicious food, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. You have to grab the to go pasta to attempt to make something good at home!

They carry all my favorites including the best selection of B-Happy Peanut Butter I've seen anywhere. Best Chocolate in Town, Tinker Coffee, Dillman Farms, Just Pop In, Broad Ripple Chips and many others are represented here! The ready-made refrigerated and frozen items look wonderful as well; I need to return to try some of those! The sandwiches also looked very tempting, and I definitely need to make a point of returning to try some of those. The cheese and charcuterie selection in the deli case looked great as well! There is ample parking around the corner on 11th street, with no parallel parking skills required (this is an important thing for me...anyone who has seen me try to parallel park will agree...)

About 15 years ago when Food Network introduced us to Ina Garten, Giada De Laurentiis, Paula Deen and Rachel Ray, my little TiVo recorded hours and hours of food being prepared, most of it purchased at specialty stores. I can't tell you how many times I heard "just run down to your specialty grocery and pick up.." - and we had nothing like this. Was Meijer, Marsh or Wal-Mart considered a specialty grocery store, and why didn't they carry anything they were talking about on TV? Finally, our world-class city starting to get with the program. More and more people cared about where the food they were consuming came from, demanding more and more local ingredients and some of these "specialty" items. Some really smart people decided they would be the ones to begin this transformation, and we started seeing specialty stores popping up. Kind of. Let's face it.. Goose The Market was really the pioneer here, but this is a review about R2GO and not Goose, so let's just fast forward about 6 years to mid-December, 2014. Because I really think "bodega" sounds a heck of a lot cooler than "specialty grocery store" and I did see spanish-type items on the shelves, I'm going to refer to R2GO as a cute little bodega. Opening just before Christmas, the shelves have a heavy influence on local. The fridge and freezers are stocked with freshly prepared entrees and sides that you can whip up in a breeze. I saw a great selection of refrigerated and frozen soups, including chicken stock that were prepared in house as well as a limited selection of fresh produce. I'm hoping once we hit summer the produce expands. Fresh breads lined the wall next to the seating area where people can grab a sandwich from the counter and have a quick bite. The meat counter offers more specialty items than you can find at your big chain grocery store, and sandwiches are made to order. I'm so happy to have this within walking distance to me. As the temperatures get warmer, I'm hopeful tables and chairs pop up on the patio where I can grab a bite to eat while watching the day go by. Welcome to the neighbor, R2GO!
