The pizza coming out of this shop is no joke. For those of you familiar with Pizza Shack, then you know their new location comes with high expectations, and sure enough...they continue to deliver. The pizzas are LARGE. Two slices would easily appease anyone's appetite, but I promise you, that will be a hard decision to make. Between their tomato pie, regular, white, and sauce only pie...my goodness, it's nearly impossible to choose just two a couple slices to try. Their recipe is perfect. Light and crispy dough, crunchy and bubbly crust, sweet and tangy red sauce - it's truly top notch. Moreover, their white pizza is unlike any white pizza you had before. Globs of roasted garlic and ricotta cheese. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Then of course, you have an awesome staff slinging the za. Fun and energetic, they are controlling the music and setting the vibe. Another must try, is the 1-900 ice cream! Do you like blueberry? Likely. Do you like espresso? I'd imagine. How about a blueberry espresso twist? I was skeptical at first, but this downright might just be one of my favorite ice creams I have ever had. To top it all off, they have yummy salads, a selection of soft drinks, and crazy toppings or dippins for the pizza (lemon ricotta dip for crust or a spicy seasoning to put on top.) Make sure you stop by, bring a friend, and soak it all in. You are going to love it!

pepperoni slice and caesar salad

Been following the construction and renovation of this location on social media for months so had to get there now that they are open. I was not disappointed, this place was great. I loved everything about the space from the tiles on the floor to the art work in the bathroom. The service was great- I was hesitant about the ice cream flavor combo but was quickly given a sample and proven to be wrong for worrying. The pizza was tasty and crisp, and their own special blend of crushed pepper added a nice spicy addition to the baseline flavor of the pie. The caesar salad was fresh and perfectly dressed with just the right amount of crunch. I would definitely recommend this spot and will definitely be back for more pizza.

The best tomato pie and soft serve swirl!!

We lined up and waited among 40-60 people on opening day, a Thursday at 12 noon. The excitement was palpable! After Lunar Inn closed, the neighborhood was sorely needing a new social spot to obsess over. (Amusingly enough, the opening day Pizza Richmond crowd looked almost identical to the closing-night Lunar Inn crowd (Dec 31, 2023) and considering there was less than a month of time passed between those two affairs, it's not surprising.) I got tomato pie, as dairy and I don't always agree in the end. My partner got pepperoni. The meat on the pepperoni is super high quality with a bit of spice, and it's everything that OG sister shop Pizza Shackamaxon brings to the table. The tomato pie....omg you guys. Like sure it's the same as Shackamaxon too, I guess, but there's something so lovely about being able to sit down, indoors, and enjoy the pizza right away in the fragrant and quirky dining room that the owners thoughtfully put together. Look for the small details such as the velvet folding chairs, the glass tulips along the wall...the bathroom door hardware. It's just such a welcoming vibe. In the first week alone, it was open Thursday-Sunday-- we went 3 times. Since then, we have gone nearly once a week or once every 10 days (had to rein it back for the sake of our waistlines) and not once have we been disappointed or less than delighted. Special mentions: -the joint is byob, so bring a koozie and a high life to sip while you wait. -both the Caesar salad and the chef salad are BOMB. The Chef salad has a LOT of bacon in it, and very generously dressed. Both are sharing size IMO. If two people each order a slice (or two, go off) and 1 salad to split, that should leave everyone satisfied. -the soft serve is to die for. The espresso blueberry swirl was amazing, and after the first month they changed up the flavors, something like a strawberry or raspberry and chocolate or something- (valentines-y flavor iirc) and I was skeptical but it delivered! 1-900 Ice Cream is seriously killing it, and what a smart and cool thing to partner with them. It's the cherry on top of an already amazing pizza experience!

10 out of 10 white pizza! Very rich flavors and none overpowering each other, just perfect. Perfect crispy undercarriage and crust! I would have gave it 5 stars if a plain regular slice wasn't $5.50 SMH

Special Slice (changes weekly)

Thin crust slice shop. Has a cool retro vibe and a VHS tv in the corner. The pizza special changes weekly and is usually some variation of a veggie centric slice. Very flavorful, I personally love how thin and crispy it is. It's also BYOB which is always a plus!

I really wish they would put garlic bread in their menu because I would be here more often! Maybe something for Paulie to consider? Anyway, if you haven't grabbed a slice from here, you're missing out. Do it grab a slice! The moots is very cheesy and garlic not greasy at all. The Freddy pepperoni is a must with the hot honey. I went different today and got the regular pep. It was good but go for the squared Pep with hot honey, the Mootz or sausage ! (Came here to say Hellboy² is my fav. )

I had the Mootz pizza, it was so immaculate that I had a dream about it today... a whopping 449 days after I had that pizza. I searched through a dozen pizza shops on Yelp and looked through pics of their interiors before I was able to figure out that it was Paulie Gee's that I ate at so I could write this review. I'm not a cheese pizza guy, but I can appreciate a really good one. If you enjoy a quality cheese pull (IYKYK) and garlicky goodness then get the Mootz... in fact get 2 bc that one slice is going to be gone way too fast. If I'm EVER in Philly again I'm bee-lining (or is it v-lining?) straight to Paulie Gee's to get 2 slices of the Mootz.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

I recommend a party of 3-4 to really maximize your experience. However, this year, we just weren't as hungry, so we did some girl math and decided it would be cheaper to do ala cart. We ordered two of the famous spicy caesar salads (must order!!), a ricotta toast, a White Claw pizza, and a finished off our meal sharing two chocolate budinos. The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso. We won't talk about how I ended up with some of it on my white turtleneck... Service was friendly and QUICK! We ordered, and I swear we had our first dishes in less than 10 minutes. The server was a doll, though I can't recall his name. Downside of Prunella, like anywhere in Center City, is there is no parking. Upside, is you're just a short walk from the 13th St. Septa Station, and you're literally equidistant from Broad and Market streets. Pro-tip: Killer happy hour specials, but only at the bar. Good selection of beverages, if you're into that type of thing. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe don't wear white.

EXCELLENT LATE-NIGHT STOP! MUST TRY!…read more We walked in about an hour before closing on a Thursday night--never an ideal entrance. You know the look. The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)

I was immediately seated upon arriving to Pizzeria Vetri. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, at a table, or at the pizza counter. I chose the pizza counter so that I could watch staff making pizzas. As I was there on my own, the serving staff continued to stop by and check on me.
