I love trying new places on my trips back to my hometown of Springfield. Pizza Ranch came recommended by my mom, who brought me and my sister here. My mom had been here before many times. I love the fact that if a pizza you want is not there, they will custom make it for you! That's awesome! Of course, I'm much too shy to ask for something like that, but I like that the option is there. Their broiled chicken is moist and delicious. I think I liked it better than the pizza! I wish they had offered more hot vegetable choices, but the salad bar was accommodating for healthier fare. I have to admit that I absolutely loved the home-made potato chips though. Yum! And although I'm not religious, this Christian-based store played Christian rock and other ballads lightly on the speakers, and I enjoyed it. Everyone was very nice, including the waitress/busser who jokingly mocked us for all being on our smartphones at the same time, ha! I hope she's there the next time we come. read more

This place is a hell hole. If you have eaten at any fast food joint, this place is a suicide jump down. I honestly believe this place is cursed. It makes a 1 star Burger King look like the fanciest place you have ever been or will be the food looks like it was thrown full speed into a microwave and left out to defrost for a decade. Having read the other reviews on Pizza Ranch I went  in excited and with high expectations. However after the salad bar, which was excellent,  my opinion went down hill very quickly. First the salad bar: very fresh and clean. Large variety of toppings, but only three dressings, however the salad was wonderful. The food: pizza was just barely ok and the chicken and chips were very salty, so i didn't try much else except for the cheese sticks which were very good (when fresh and hot). Even though there was also the issue that several items the on the food and dessert buffet were consistantly empty, when it did finally come out  the desert pizza was very tasty. Ended up going back for more salad and had some nice cole slaw to finish off my meal. Overall not a bad value at $11.49 but a little steep for a salad bar. read more

This place is actually disgusting. There is garbage everywhere and it smells like foot fungus. In a span of 30 minutes two kids got sick and threw up. If you consume the food you will be on the toilet for at least 20 minutes. The food looks like it's a week old and has been sitting in grease for years. The food is just plain nasty. The bathrooms smell and are really dirty also. This place is really disgusting and I would recommend any other place. read more

Stopped in for lunch - it's a buffet with pizza and fried chicken as the main offerings as well as soup and salad. The pizza - various topping combinations offered in either a standard or thin crust, about 10 different styles available. Pizza was good, not great. I think that a Pizza Hut buffet actually tastes better, although it has less choices. The fried chicken - this is pretty good fried chicken, maybe a 7 out of 10. Crisp and juicy, accompanied by mashed potatoes, wedges, canned looking corn/beans. Other - chicken noodle soup was so so - the veggies tasted of being from a dried soup base package. Salad bar was decent, standard toppings and looked fresh. Can't really complain about that. Lots of soda fountain options, coffee, tea. Wait on yourself except for plate clearing. Christian music playing in the background wouldn't be my first choice for lunch music. read more

Had a work meeting here. You could smell the grease they cook with from your car. Service was good. Pizza selection decent. Seemed like they had a hard time keeping the pizzas stocked and the item tags didn't match the pizza it was under. A little chaotic. My experience was average. I ended up getting really sick about 2 hours after leaving. I believe it was from the old grease that was used to fry the chicken. I wouldn't say don't go there, but there are plenty of better pizza options in Springfield. read more

Food was good, staff was great but the owner. They made a mistake and staff had a solution, great. Owner comes out and cusses, threatened and banned me. What's worse, as we left he chased my truck all around the parking lot. This scared my family very much. When i called corporate, they covered him for having a bad day. They said i would recieve a written apology and vouchers so they could show us an enjoyable visit. Didn't happen. All this over the "buffet your way" the resturant offers. He said we wanted free shit, no my girlfriend just wanted her pizza after a 40 minute wait. I will not return in fear of my and my families safety. Whenever I have eaten at the restaurant the food has been good and staff very helpful. HOWEVER the experience with their delivery is beyond awful! Previous deliveries have been very disappointing-one time an order for a luncheon I hosted was delivered more than an hour late. The most recent ordeal was this eve-Jan 10th. Due to recent surgery I needed food delivered. At approx 4:15 pm when I placed the order I was told it would be delivered "within the hour". One hour and 40 min later, still no food. I called PR and Victoria, the mgr answered. She asked my name-then she innformed me, "As of Feb we are not delivering any orders less than $30". My order was $21 with $5 rewards given. I questioned why the order was taken and I was told it would be delivered within the hour. She reiterated the new policy---I informed her today is Jan 10th-it is not yet Feb. At this time in a very annoyed tone of voice she asked if I want my food, I assured her yes--as a diabetic I needed to eat. Why had she or no one not called me to inform me my food was not being delivered? This is totally unacceptable. How sad! read more

The food was good here. All different kinds of pizza and if they didn't have what you wanted they would make it for you. They also have fried chicken and salads and some veggies also. The food was all fresh and hot. A buffet style restaurant with a country theme. The workers were polite and quick to pick up your used plates. We had a great time at Pizza Ranch. We got there about 7pm it was still crowded we waited about 10 min for a spot because we had a party of 6. The food was absolutely wonderful. Great place for a group that can't all agree on what they want for lunch! It's a pizza buffet with a salad bar and a fried chicken buffet. The pizza is not the best i have ever had but it's the best I've had on a pizza buffet, and if they don't have a pizza out on the buffet you fancy, they will cook one for you and deliver it to your table. Good fried chicken, just a little salty! Steam table has potatoes and gravy, biscuits, a couple veggies, mac and cheese. The salad bar although limited on the number of choices was very good! They use a variety of colorful mixed lettuce instead of plain romaine lettuce. Still trying to figure out what the tax is in Springfield, $7.99 on sign outside for lunch, but over $22.00 for two. read more

The fried chicken here is a hell of alot better then the pizza. Pizza crust is bland and the pizzas they had out were not very good. Like I stated before the fried xhixken was excellant, it was cooked perfectly and tasted really good. But this is called Pizza Ranch not Chicken Ranch. Need to step up the pizza game a little bit. Not just pizza. Had a buffet of other stuff too. Chicken, soup and salads. Surprisingly not as much pizza as you'd think. The night we went they had 4 kinds out but 3 were pineapple!!! Showed up at 2130 to get some chicken, as we have had chicken in other states from pizza ranch and it has been exceptional. There was a guy in the parking lot with his engine running and a young lady inside the building who informed us that they had been closed since 2030, and that this was routine- on a Friday night, and despite the fact that their sign said they were open until 2200 on fridays and saturdays. Now, in their defense, the rest of the city is closed at 2200 as well so maybe her need " for speed," is appropriate. read more

Love this place. I always special order a sausage pizza with garlic butter sauce. Try it, you'll like it. I also order the Tuscan Roma pizza. Apart from that, they have a large variety of other pizzas to pick from and the drinks do not cost extra. The staff are all lovely people and hard workers. This is the place I come to when we're having a pot luck and I want to bring fried chicken. It is so good. All in all, it is a good place for a very filling meal. I went last night, and have talked with several people about their experiences. General consensus is "I've been there once but I won't be back". The service is fine--if you can call it "service" really. The place is a buffet so there are no waitresses. There are people bussing tables. Despite being so busy, the buffet was completely stocked at all times. The pizza. At first I was excited about the pizza offerings because they aren't your normal buffet offerings. There are pizzas you would expect like cheese, pepperoni, etc, but there are also pizzas like BBQ Chicken and BLT. There are also dessert pizzas. The problem with the pizza is that there is an overabundance of some garlic oil or sauce on every single one, to the point it is drowning out any other flavor and makes the cornmeal crust unpleasantly soggy. There is also a very poor topping/sauce/cheese ratio. The flavors do not meld, instead my tongue is assaulted with toppings and garlic. The only thing on this buffet I liked was the cheese sticks...and let's be honest those are really hard to mess up. The chicken. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken, there's only one fried chicken I've ever tried and liked. Not surprisingly, I didn't like this chicken. The crust on the chicken looks nice, but completely lacks flavor. The chicken has not been marinated or seasoned, so it simply tastes like a hunk of cooked chicken (though it was fried well, it was very moist). The stuffing, potatoes, and gravy did not make any pretense of not being instant. The biscuits were also not homemade. They had hunks of solid move-theatre butter throughout. Only thing I liked on this buffet were the "onion chunks" (pieces of onion ring). Cost--way too expensive for what it is. A dinner for an adult is about $12. Based on the quality of food, this is far too expensive. So been there once, regretted suggesting it (and paying for it) and will not be back. read more

Very small buffet with tasteless vegetables, average Broasted chicken and potatoes, and a salad bar that frighteningly reminded me of the old Wendy's food bar. As for the pizza, they offered three styles of crust when I visited and none of them were awe inspiring. The thin crust was identical to the Palmero's thin crust pizzas available at most food stores. I guarantee you the crusts are not made on site for this one. The medium crust was soggy and tasteless. The thick crust is identical to Pizza Hut pan pizza with very little cheese. They are not going to overwhelm you with cheese on any of the styles. The layout of the buffet is awkward, with scarce condiments hidden on end caps on the sides of the buffet. Napkins were hard to come by also, Service is very friendly, This place is owned by a very religious organization ala Chik-Fil-a and Cracker Barrel. No real issues with this as long as they don't discriminate or shove it down your throat. But I am not really worried about it as I do not intend to go back solely based on the fact that the food sucks. I'll bet this place has a For Lease sign attached to in one year. read more

I rather enjoyed eating here. Very clean and well decorated for a buffet style business. An exceptional upgrade compared to other pizza places in Springfield. All the food was fresh, delicious, and very cleanly displayed. Love the fact that you can take drinks to go. We drank soda during the meal and had coffee with our dessert. We then took coffee with us. I will be back. I wish this place was on the west side so I could have them deliver to the house. I also love that it is a christian company. read more

LOVE Pizza Ranch. We are pizza fiends, and we love that they have cheese pizza and Mac and Cheese pizza (for our daughter), as well as basic pepperoni, and of course "crazier" options like BLT and BBQ Chicken. I haven't had a pizza I didn't like from Pizza Ranch. They also tend to put out a mix of thin and thick crust pizzas, and if you don't see what you like, they will make it for you! The cheese sticks are great, and the fried chicken is excellent. We enjoy the cactus bread (dessert pizza) and the wide range of drinks available. The buffet is also always very clean. Only down side is how fast the mac and cheese pizza goes. If you see it, you have to grab a piece immediately, as it will disappear in five minutes and then not reappear for an hour. read more

My hubby and I went there about a week ago. It was crowded, as expected. But they maintained the buffet rather well. Every thing was clean. They bussed rather quickly and kept a close eye on the comings and goings. I never felt rushed. Every employee was polite and wearing a smile. The food was tasty. I had the gluten free pizza, an unfortunate necessity. I must say it was one of the best I've had. I also had the salad bar and enjoyed it as well. My hubby enjoyed his food. We will most likely go back when we are again in the mood for such. Meanwhile, I'll try the delivery and see how that goes. All in all, good job for a new restaurant. read more

The price is very good as is the service. It is a buffet. The pizza is good but not special but if they don't have the one you want they will make it right away. On the buffet is the treasures. The fried chicken is excellent. The biscuits and gravy is fine. They have several styles of potatoes , some quite good. It is the only place in town where I can find sage stuffing and I love that. They have many sodas types but the dessert is another star. The desert pizzas and pastry is good but the ice cream self serve is amazingly good. It is well worth the visit and affordable. read more

I guess the best thing you can say about this place is that there are a lot of soft drinks to chose from and are included. The fried chicken is great if you can get close to it because the 60-70 year old men grab 5-6 pieces at a time and hover around that station. Saw several of them stuffing chicken in their wife's handbags to take home! Pizza is thick crust and always limp...yuk...nothing was crispy. Salad bar was very odd...very messy...very limited unless you consider pudding a plus...gross. The carpet was covered with food and no one was sweeping it up as they went along...so disgusting. The theme of restaurant is up to date on renovation and the theme is awesome. Bathrooms are clean, and are spacious. If anything is wrong is that some stalls don't lock. But that's easy to fix. So I don't know if this is just the one in springfield but this place should be called fried chicken ranch. The Pizza is okay slightly worse than Pizza Hut but better than Little Caesars. Salad bar is good. Fried chicken is some of the best in town. The chicken is always crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The mashed potatoes and gravy are decent, the green beans suprisingly good, and the stuffing is pretty good. I don't usually get any pizza. Best buffet in town for sure. Service is ok for a buffet. read more
