Rather than being an isolated incident, it has become a recurring problem that significantly impacts the dining experience. The quality of the food--especially the pizzas--has also become inconsistent. Some visits have been enjoyable, while others have been disappointing, making it difficult to know what to expect. Consistency is one of the qualities that made this restaurant stand out, and it's disappointing to see that standard decline. In my experience, there also appears to be a lack of effective management. The same issues continue to persist without noticeable improvement, which is frustrating because this restaurant once had an outstanding reputation for its food, atmosphere, and customer service. I have shared feedback in the past, but I haven't seen meaningful changes. As a longtime customer, that's the most disappointing part. Customer concerns should be viewed as opportunities to improve, and unfortunately I haven't seen much indication that those concerns are being addressed. It's been there a few years, changed names in the last couple years, and is separate from the motel though they do rent the space from them. Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works.
