I've visited and also had food delivered and each way I'm very impressed and I always look forward to my garlic knots with my pizza or meal .From the person answering the phone the service is amazing they are sweet and always get my order correct and extremely polite! The feel when you eat in the restaurant is family oriented but also nice for a date night out . The waiters are always friendly and polite and very welcoming. My mother and her friend went to Pizza Masters on the other day. They ordered the chicken Marsala and chicken parm dinners. While it was delicious going down they both got really sick. It started about 20 minutes after they ate. Both felt really gassy. Next thing they are both vomiting and had diarrhea. A friend of theirs went separately from them on Saturday at a different time. They also had the chicken and were also sick all weekend long. They went back and told one of the owners today. He basically said sorry but the chicken was from a different supplier. The last time I went here about 3 weeks ago the plates were filthy and greasy with fingerprints all over them. The silverware was also filthy and had dried cooked food on it as well. I was given the wrong food when I called for take out at 5:30pm. I called to make sure they knew that I tried to pick up the food at 5:30pm, however, the cashier gave me the wrong food. I waited for my friend to come home to have dinner at 7:30pm which is when I found out that I was given the wrong meal. I ate the small salad because I assumed the sandwich was ok which occasionally happens and I do not mind. But the whole order was wrong. I called to let them know I tried to pick the order up because I go there twice a week and did not want them to think I forgot. The manager was verbally abusive and told me that because I did not call right away I will not get a credit and "...how will that benefit me." My parents have been ordering from here for over 30 years. The other day my dad ordered a sausage parm with pasta. When the food arrived it was sausage and sauce only. So my dad called to get it corrected and instead of just sending my dad a new order. The girl who answered the call said she took the order when he called and that my dad didn't order a sausage parm. I'm a business owner and unfortunately no matter the issue the customer is always right! It's as simple as taking the order back and sending a new one which doesn't cost pizza master anything. But now it will cost pizza master the business of not only my dads business but the rest of my family who have also been customers for over 30 years as well. I've been a customer of this establishment for years. I have always enjoyed the food here and today was only another amazing experience. I had a Fettuccini Alfredo and a can of Coke. It was late and we were all craving Italian food and picked up a big order from Pizza Masters! This restaurant looks small on the outside but when you walk in they have a huge dining area and with big tables and seats for big families if you would like to dine in. We ordered grandma slices, chicken Parmesan with bread, penne vodka, eggplant sandwich, mozzarella sticks and some garlic knots! This whole order came out to be $50!!! It's so well priced as the portions are HUGE! everything we ate was really good; it hit the spot and satisfied my craving for Italian food. The best thing from this order was the chicken parm as the chicken cutlets were well seasoned, nicely crisp and covered in mozzerella. The sauce was good and pairs well with the rigatoni pasta. Their mozzarella sticks could be better though as they lacked flavor and there was no cheese pull. However, the garlic knots were so BIG and FLUFFY and super strong with garlic (which I love, I am a garlic girl) plus the marinara it came with was so addicting I kept dipping my bread back into it. We've been coming here for years. I pretty much rotate between plain, Buffalo, and Grandma slices, though their focaccia sandwiches are great as well. My husband orders chicken parm on focaccia (pro tip: you can get the focaccia bread for a small upcharge). I can honestly say we've come with very few issues. Once I did order a tomato and onion salad and the outside of the bowl was dirty, the issue was corrected right away. Just know that I hate to do this but it's always about quality and service when it comes to patroning a restaurant. Ordered two regular slice (they were fine) but I also order a buffalo chicken slice and Stromboli (here's where the problem arises). The Stromboli was majority cheese with barely any meat or flavor. For $7, you HAVE TO DO BETTER. The buffalo chicken was just ok, but this is the part where I get to SERVICE. The young lady who placed this last slice in the oven to reheat, as she was bagging it upon leaving the oven, brings out a piping hot, fresh whole buffalo chicken pie. I bring it to her attention that those are fresher and bigger slice hinting to her to offer a swap--she looks at me with a blank stare. So I leave and vow to never go back. I get it. The owner is going to respond and tell me how he will try to make it better. I appreciate that but you gotta have quality control over every measure including the food. I have avoided this place for years specifically for the name, while my family members continued to get their pizza and take-out Italian from here and tell me how good it was. But while visiting the fam they suggested we head down. Stepped inside from the cold snowy night into a welcoming warm-from-the-ovens place where we were greeted warmly. Big shout-out to the young man who was our waiter, treated us so nicely (as in, he was raised really well and he understands the value of service) and worked his tail off with a lot of tables and a lot of food. But I digress... My parents don't make a move without ordering mussels in an Italian place in New Jersey so we started with that. Also, my dad likes to order spaghetti with marinara sauce from any Italian restaurant even though I tell him I could make it for him for a dollar at home. So he ordered that. Both quite good. Red sauce on mussels could have been spicier, and not bad, definitely good but not great (I myself prefer spicier less sweet sauce). Spaghetti happened to be really good. And then the predictable debate on what pizza to have. My mother likes pizza that is paper thin, which fortunately is readily available in Bayonne, but this one was very very good. Literally paper thin with well done crust, but flavorful. Even my ridiculously picky young niece ate it happily. I was about to go rogue and order a white pizza but spotted something called Grandma Zita's specialty pizza at the very bottom of the menu. What caught my eye was that it was fresh mozzarella (because if you think that every pizza is made with the good stuff you're fooling yourself). And honestly it was definitely in the top 5 pizzas I've ever had, maybe top 3. It was simple -- delicious crust that was thick but not doughy with a super crisp bottom. It comes baked in a sheet and is cut into squares, which I love and don't know why more places don't do that. The sauce was just right, the fresh cheese delicious. The simplest of foods done exactly right. So although I hate the name (just like I used to refuse to go to anyplace called _______ City) this place is way more authentic than it sounds.
