PSA: If you ever feel the need to try the breakfast here, avoid the corned beef hash. It tastes…read morelike dry, flavorless cat food. No wonder they sell it so cheap. Now, Friendly's and I go WAY back. Like, back in the day when a family could enjoy a full course meal there and it was right on par with Applebee's in the 90s (crikey, I'm old). These days, however, most people only think of them as that one brand of ice cream you see in grocery stores. Or maybe you even felt froggy enough to order delivery from them because you were craving a Reese's Sundae like I was a few summers ago. And yes - they absolutely will deliver ice cream to your door. Honestly though, that might be the best thing they've got going for themselves, food wise. The main menu items here are....mid, at best. Feeling brave and adventurous, I decided I'd give their breakfast a try (especially considering no one's taken any breakfast photos until this review). I've had it as a kid. But since that was literal decades ago, I barely remember the experience. Though, I'm *pretty* sure the food was mostly edible back then. Today, I got an omelet (my way) with basic homefries, corned beef hash, and a bagel. Since I already described how retched the hash was, I'll move onto the rest of the ensemble. Omelet: this was arguably the most edible part of this complete breakfast. The diced veggies were fine, the cheese was fine, and the fresh eggs (which you have to request, btw) were...fine. That's about all I can say about this omelet; it was fine. Apart from the eggs tasting inexplicably "flat", I'd wager this one's a 6 out of 10. The bagel tasted like stale cardboard with cream cheese. At least they use the Philadelphia brand though so....yay? I could only stomach about two bites before giving up and tossing that travesty in the trash. Even the greatest brand of cream cheese on earth couldn't save this joke of a bagel. 1 out of 10, would NOT recommend. The homefries were the only other item I could actually finish. They're unseasoned though (of course), so be cognizant that you'll either want salt or ketchup with these, if that's your thing. 5 out of 10. Oh yeah...did you know this Friendly's has a drive thru? Pretty weird, considering this is a casual dine-in restaurant, but whatevs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Based on this rather perplexing and frustrating experience, I feel I'd be better off sticking with something simpler like the Lumberjack Breakfast the next time around. I figure, there's no way they could royally f#$! up bacon to the point of blandness, right? RIGHT?! Fingers crossed on that one. Initial re-impressions of their breakfast left me with flavors reminiscent of school cafeteria food. Should the next go around prove to be more pleasant, I'll gladly update this review. For now, I'd give Friendly's take-away 2 mighty fine make-your-own omelets out of 5.

Full confession upfront here: I feel like a total heel for two reasons. 1.) I realize I haven't…read morewritten a single review in over 1.5 months and I apologize (it's expensive af out there, yo!) and 2.) I've been eating delicious subs from this particular JM location for MONTHS now, yet haven't done a review on why they're so bloody awesome! Allow me to kill two birds with the proverbial stone then. Honestly, this won't be a long review. Most of you probably can ascertain how I feel about JM as a franchise. But for those not "in-the-know", there isn't a single sandwich shop in the Nashua area (to my knowledge) that can even hold a candle to this one. To put it succinctly, the true measure of a sandwich shop is how many different subs you can order from them that you actually enjoy as opposed to reacting like, "yeah....this one's alright." For context, I routinely order at least 3 different subs from here. And whilst Mike's Famous Philly will always hold a special place in my heart, I can aptly say that I almost equally immensely enjoy the tuna and chicken Philly subs as well. So, that really only leaves one other differentiating factor: the location itself. This one's my preferred spot, not only because they're the closest one to where I live; but also because they are generally one of the easiest locations to get into. To briefly elaborate on this, it's how the parking lot is configured. It's a relatively wide open space with two entrances; one of which is on the side that doesn't impede the mainstream traffic on Amherst Street. A crucial feature for us locals who prefer using the back routes to circumvent the vexing backlog of rush hour traffic which continues to plague the vast majority of society to this day. But....I digress. I mean, do I really need to say more? Between the fresh ingredients, consistent execution of orders, and friendly faces, this place slaps hard! Ergo, I'm giving Jersey Mike's on Amherst Street 5 sizzling Philly steaks the other local joints WISH they could emulate out of 5.
