In the past, this pizza hut has been excellent. But we were quite disappointed with our visit. I can accept "counter service only" because so many places have gone to this. We ordered onions on our pizza... "We're out." Ok, how about the meatballs?... "We don't have those anymore." We settled on a hand tossed pizza with sausage, green pepper and ham. The pizza was brought to our table... it was not very hot (with dine-in, we do expect our pizza to be hot). The final blow was when we asked for some pepper... We went to pizza hut for lunch. We were promptly sat. When our server came to the table, there was no hi, it was just "what do you want to drink? Are you all getting the buffet?" we all did get the buffet which will never happen again. The lettuce was brown. The was an empty pan for where pasta was and the pizza was slow to be refilled. Just wasn't worth the price. I will say that they seemed to be very short staffed. Only 3 ladies working from what I saw. Maybe it was just a bad day, but a smile from the staff can make all the difference read more

After a tiring and busy day sightseeing, our large group of 13 were frantically looking for a local fare type place to try. After seeing small places with no parking and long lines, we reluctantly went into this Pizza Hut because we were starving. I'm so glad that we did. This was one of the most positive meal experiences we have had on our trip. This particular location is what I like to call an "old school Pizza Hut". The building, both outside and in, is very nostalgic of the chain in its golden age of the 1980's. Our waitress was Tamra, a Manteo resident of 50 years. She quickly had us seated, had our drinks to us quickly, and although the buffet ended a few minutes before we walked in, pulled some strings and got the manager to keep it open just for us. The pizza from the buffet and everything along with it was fresh and delicious. We left full and satisfied, and with a new realization that chain restaurants can still have a local fare touch if they choose to. read more

Stopped here while in town (05-18). We wanted pizza and know Pizza Hut to usually be consistent. We went inside to find only two tables with people. 3-4 people at each of the two tables. We waited to be seated which is the custom at Pizza Hut. While waiting we noticed three employees. One at the register trying to ring up a customer trying to pay, while she was also taking a phone in order and loudly telling the tables that she would be with them in a minute. The second employee was leaning on a counter peeking at us from behind a stack of empty pizza boxes, never coming out to help. The third employee came in from smoking and went straight out of sight to the back. After waiting nearly ten minutes we just left. Need some decent folks to be employed there that value their jobs. read more

We arrived at the pizza hut after a couple hours at the NC aquarium. We had a group of 8 with us. 5 adults 3 kids. When being seated the lady decided she would put our big group in between 2 other big groups and we could not even get in to sit down at the chairs. when the other side of the resturant was empty. Needless to say i said something and she did not like that. we moved ourselves to the our side of the place. The waitress came and took our order and placed our drink order and decided to get the buffet.. WHAT BUFFET??? there was not pizza and the salad bar was nothing to talk about. My husband was very upset with that.. he loves salad. We waited for about 15-20 minutes till there was more pizza put out and than it was gone in 20 seconds. I dont think we will be back to this place unless we just order pizza instead of the buffet. read more

Its Pizza Hut i get it. But, stoped in for the lunch buffet. Biggest problem was there were no plates. We sat for 10 minuets waiting for the lady to bring them out. By the time we got them, there was no pizza as other people were using their already eaten off of plates. I asked about getting some plain pizza for my wife. 25 minuets latter she brought her out a plate with 3 slices on it. The bread sticks came out 8 at a time and were gone the minute they hit the bar. The lettuce was brown and the thousand island had skin on it. When i was given a refill the waitress took my staw with her hands and put it in my new soda. Wtf? Hands down the worst pizza hut i have ever been to. Also forgot to mention the overall dirtyness. read more

Decided to stop here after visiting the aquarium. The buffet was decent but not very fresh. The waitress forgot our drink order and my husband had to go get them and any refills. The manager helped us more than our waitress. She didn't seem to want to be bothered so we didn't bother to leave a tip. We won't be back to that Pizza Hut. Worst service in town. read more
