Couldn't figure out what I wanted and was getting the to Hangry stage so I swung into Five Guys for a quick bite. Easy ordering w/ friendly staff. Regardless of where you are, Five Guys is always a little pricey but usually quick, consistent, & tasty....and this location was no different. Great juicy burger and the small fry was over-filling the size of the cup. Plus I got a cheese dog to add in there (cause I'm a growing boy, lol). Five Guys is just simply great food period. No matter what Five Guys location; you're guaranteed a good burger. This was my first time visiting the Five Guys in Kill Devil Hills, NC. This specific Five Guys feels like home. It isn't a modern as the others I have visited; however, I really enjoyed the older look and decor. The restaurant was very clean. The service was great! The young lady smiled and welcomed me into the establishment; and also welcomed me to the area - I'm traveling for work. They are absolutely ridiculous. The burgers are smaller than you would get from McDonald's or Burger King or Wendy's and they are charging $10.49 a burger. I asked him does that come with fries he said no but it comes in the same bag. so after fries, a burger, and a drink it's going to be over $20 per person. That is absolutely ridiculous. These people are thieves. All because there are not many places around that are open for lunch and the ones that are our big restaurants that are expensive as well. Excellent food..Not very expensive...Crowded at times...Still Good and Fast! We were there on a Sunday afternoon around 1.15pm. Drove around the parking lot but it was all very full.. Drove away a bit before driving back to Five Guys since the other place we could have gone to was 7 miles away! This time someone was pulling out and we got to park. We were not disappointed. We had a Veggie Sandwich with cheese and Cajun Fries. Fresh, hot and excellent! The people here are fast and service oriented. The veggie sandwich is a crime against humanity. It doesn't have a veggie patty. It is the regular burger without the meat. So you just have lettuce, tomato, and the bun. Very gross as well. Without the meat you realize how gross everything else is. Be vegetarian someplace else. read more

I stopped here while touring the Outer Banks. Between covid and being a little late, everything else was closed. I had not been to a FG's in over 10 years. The location was awesome, right on the main highway, good workers. I tried the big burger with bacon (something like that, forgot the name), one of the best burgers I've ever had. Place smelt like fish and spoiled milk. Not a fan. My hotdog looked deformed. "The super weiner". A random piece of hamburger was in my hotdog wrapper. The ice spill tray was overflowing and the floor was soaking wet and I didn't like it almost died. Spilt Coca Cola all over the counter. At 1/8 of my "super weiner" and ate like 6 fries then threw it away. Didn't try any hamburgers but I heard they are ok. Almost threw up with the smell though. Can't get over it. Service was decent. Not exactly my idea of a good time in terms of food but when you're in OBX and it's NYE and everything is either closed or running some kind of NYE special/package (which is Latin for over priced) you find yourself at Five Guys. More or less it's your standard Five Guys in every way. Of course the one notable exception would be the pricing. I will admit it has been a few years since the last time I stepped foot into the temple of the greasy brown bag but when you're getting banged at over four dollars for a hot dog, geeeeez! One good thing worth mentioning. Total ghost town. One occupied table along with four guys in front of me who apparently are regulars ordering in Spanish with the one employee who speaks or at least seems to understand it. All things ordered and all things received in around five minutes. Of course the other two things received would be the expected greasy bag and the food being heaved into to the bag. It looked like Hurricane Matthew came back from the dead and entered my bag. Burgers and fries in several layers all over the place. Only at Five Guys could this get pulled off and not have people bitch about it. The food was as expected and I was in and out of the parking lot in under ten minutes. Always liked the food & service. Recently had an experience using the app for an online order. Placed the order but received a 'problem processing your card' Backed out of the app and tried again with the same result so I ordered at the restaurant. The card WAS processed they had the additional two orders on the shelf. The restaurant refunded my money even though it wasn't their fault. Like the restaurant, the app-not so much. read more

While on a road trip to North Carolina from Virginia, I have tried five guys for the very first time. While in the line waiting for my order to be taken, I had to clutch my pearls, TWICE. One, all of the toppings are free. I thought "Five guys? More like Five Guardian Angles." Because they led to to a restaurant that spoke directly to my soul. With all of the toppings I asked for, my burger cam into my life as a Leaning Tower of delightful bliss. My only critique, the meat could have used some seasoning. Sea salt or garlic Salt. Hell seasoning salt. The season season I clutched my pearls, the fries didn't come with my Bacon cheeseburger, or My Leaning Tower of Delightful Bliss. After discovering how much fries a LARGE was, I ended up getting a medium and sharing it with someone. I was told a large can feed multiple adults. I just Googled a large fry, before this review, the large fry is no Competition, but whatever. Side not, left over fries don't taste as good. Finish it while at five guys. After my experience, I wouldn't mind going back. Next time, I want to try the chocolate milkshake. I can only imagine how good it taste. But I'll try it back in my state of Virginia. I love north Carolina, but there are to many Trump Supporters. I thought I was gonna be Lynched and thrown in the swamp. But I did make it home in one piece. read more

Best burger on the beach! Generous portions of fries and I like that they offer malt vinegar as a condiment. The soda machines are fun because you can make your own concoctions and there's roasted peanuts to keep you busy while you wait for your order. Three words. In and Out. This place PALED in comparison to the original drive through burger joint In and Out. I came here, starving my flat buns off, and ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheese Dog, Fries, and helped myself to some peanuts. For starters, they don't have shakes. That was a big disappointment right off the bat. The food was really greasy, and the fries, even though they used fresh potatoes, had a funny taste. Was it the peanut oil perhaps? I'm not sure, but there was nothing exciting or memorable about it. Even being as hungry as I was, I was not impressed (and everything usually tastes better when you are hungry!) My one complaint is the pricing needs to be cut by about 20%. $4.99 for a double cheesburger? $2.50 for a "small" (really a large, by most standards) fries? $1.99 for a 20 oz. fountain soda? Only reason I'm giving a two star is because the staff is friendly. Me and my bf went here based on the positive yelp reviews, but I left very disappointed.. Got two burgers, one regular fry, two small drinks and it costs us $26! - Strike #1. Got our meal in a grease covered bag, - strike #2. burgers in the bottom, and our fries DUMPED on top of the burgers in the bag. -strike #3. And the food was not even good. Just felt like I was eating grease.. If you care about your health even just a little bit, still don't eat here.. Outer Banks needs some Cook Out's! We can get TWO burger trays with fries and chicken quesadilla with two drinks for $11 and everything is DELICIOUS and not greased up.. get on it, Outer Banks!
