We love all of the restaurants around us but just wanted to try something new so we decided to take a drive to Anna and try Jordo's. Jordo's Pizzeria is located in downtown Anna in one of the old brick buildings that makes up the true downtown of any community. The inside is a nice little pizza joint with several 4 person booths and a few high top tables. They have a salad bar in the middle of the room and a glass cooler filled with a wide variety of unique soda bottles. They also provide a variety of fountain sodas and have a Gold Peak tea dispenser. Be aware that if you have a large group of people then seating could be an issue. It did seem as if they were trying to modernize some things in the resturant since I saw some tools setting around and new wood decor in the hall. If that is not the case then I would suggest to hide items like this from customers. This establishment seamed that is was ran by a husband and wife team who clearly had pride in the food that they were making. We ordered a family size pepperoni pizza and 4 drinks totally around $25 which is typical for this area. They do accept cash, credit and debit cards. They also deliver within a certain mile range. As to how the pizza tasted, it was one of those that I would put on the top of my pizza list. My wife said it was possible one of her favorites, my son thought it was average and my daughter thought it was between average and her favorite. We would definitely purchase pizza from Jordo's Pizzeria again if it was closer to us. It is an establishment that we would visit again if we were in the area. Please note that this is all based on my own experience. Not everyone will have the same experience or taste. I do encourage all readers to tryout Jordo's for themselves and decide how they like it.

Sign at the end of the gravel road announced our arrival. Pulled into the lot and we were the only ones there beyond the workers late in the afternoon on a Sunday. Cash only but they have an ATM on site. Visited the brewery room and perused the different beers available on draft, in bottles, and growlers. Ordered a pizza, the green tomato and sausage. And chose a flight of beer, four for $13. Sumac Sour, Fig Porter, Dead Leaves, and Basil Saison. I enjoyed every one of them, but the Dead Leaves was my overall favorite. I decided on that one as my take home growler. I really enjoyed the green tomato sausage pizza, I enjoy a green tomato, not many restaurants have them on their menu in a state other than fried, so I had to get it. The flavors were great; the tartness of the green tomato went well with the sausage. The space is incredible, very rustic and woodsy, the perfect backdrop to the foraged beers. Every space was decked out with funky colors and artwork. I really wish it was closer, definitely a road trip to go back but feel it would be worth it in each of the seasons!

Raise a glass to the ghost of Pags…read more For the past 25 years, this was the place that we compared all other pizza to. As soon as you walked in the door, that heady smell of rising dough, fresh-made tomato sauce and baking cheese welcomed you like an old friend. As soon as we entered the parking lot and saw only one car there at 8:30 on a Friday night in a college town, we started to worry. I had seen in the reviews here that ownership had changed, but retained some small hope that the Pags we knew still existed. But no. There may have been a wisp of an aroma but we realized pretty quickly that it must have just been a ghost. Since we still had 7 hours on the road ahead of us, we had called our order in. The fact that the staff didn't understand what "dine in" meant for our order meant that both the person who took the order on the phone and the manager they consulted hadn't bothered to communicate to the rest of the staff. So our pizzas were boxed up and waiting when we got there - but not in anything that would keep them warm. The server plated them on pizza platters, but didn't bother warming them up, so they were barely above room temp when served. And the pizza itself? Boring. Pedestrian. Like any other pizza made with Sysco products. My "thin and crispy" was thinnish, but by no stretch of the imagination was it crispy. The savory, crunchy crust I remembered was replaced by an anemic 1/4 inch rim, no crunch. No flavor. SO and YO split a "thin and chewy," which had the weirdest edge I think I've seen. SO reports it "perfectly adequate;" everything that made Pags special was lacking. "Sure was pizza." The staff were nice. The floor by the counter was really sticky - to the point that I could both feel and hear my shoes sticking. That was gross. We were last here about 15 years ago, so I guess that will have to be the Pags we remember. This one is perfectly forgettable.
