The mozzarella sticks were a bit limp lol the breading was not as crispy as I'd have liked and lacking a bit of seasoning but the PIZZA! I love a penne alla vodka pizza where they actually put pasta on top! And the vodka sauce was amazing. I first went to this restaurant through a special from the too good to go app. They gave eight slices of pizza and they were all very good. The place is small and very clean. The restaurant side very nice. Came back three days later for dinner with my wife. The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. I had the veal Parm with broccoli And my wife had the eggplant with broccoli. Both were excellent. The portions are big. The prices are more than reasonable and they even give you bread at the table. As the place is small, I really don't wanna give a will make it tougher to get a. But everything was spot on. read more

Was heading to Sal's in Mamaroneck for a square slice and then walk the avenue. Saturday night they're open till 9. It's 8:40. Gotta hurry. I call. No answer. I speed up. Pass a cop hiding in the dark. I keep one eye out the front window as I slow down and one eye waiting for the police lights to let me know I'm done. In my mind I think about my story how I have hungry kids and Sal's is closing. Screw the ticket, follow me and I'll buy you a slice. Is that really bribery? Policeman never chased me. I can make it with 5 minutes to spare. Turns out .. Sal is on Vacation. Now what? PG comes up on Google. What the heck, it's worth a try. When I walk in there only 2 slices left on the counter and they're closing for vacation tomorrow so there's not much to be had. Counter guy says.. no worries I'll make a pie. I don't need a pie but it's after 9 here in whitelandia so I'll be happy to have something. Pizza man happily spins the dough and in 12 minutes my pizza comes out perfect. They were all so friendly and easy to deal with. So far so good. "How many slices you want"? I'm asked. What? You're not making me take the whole thing? "Nah. Take what you want but it's probably cheaper to take a pie than 4 slices". So I took the pie. $22 bucks. Damn good. Friendly, accommodating service. Clean. Quick. No attitude. The pizza was old school good, a little flop, great flavor, a bit of crunch that makes you salivate. Cheese was good and not too oily. Perfectly hit the spot. I'll definitely be back. Met the owners while I waited. Good people. Try this place. If it's not a 5 next time I go I'll update but for now this place is a gem. OK so I went to this place when it was a pizzeria and they remodeled and now it's a pizzeria restaurant love the look of a great job. Always love their pizza special one with onions tomatoes chicken and mozzarella. Tonight me and my daughter had the bruschetta the bread was too high and thick but the mix was out of this world it reminded me of the pizza. I had the spaghetti with the clams and shrimp I think the spaghetti was fresh because it had a different texture like fresh made. My daughter had the eggplant Rollo teeny we couldn't finish everything so we took it home. I'm surprise the red sauce on the spaghetti was a little bland. read more

I spent my childhood in a pizzeria so I consider myself high maintenance when it comes to pizza. Out of the 10+ pizzerias within the 3 mile radius this is one of my favorites. I called and spoke to the manager who was unresponsive to anything I had to say. I told him if they didn't take care of it I would call Amex. So I did. This is pretty astonishing considering this is not some place that looks like it was spun out of some hippie college town. Pizza Gourmet is a tiny pizza shop with about 10 tables for a dining area, that really looks like any "XYZ House of Pizza" that dots New England and New York. Pizza Gourmet recently opened a nice sit down restaurant next door to their old store, and it's nice and cozy. Seems like a family run business. The pizza is good; the plain slices are solid and, unexpectedly, the four cheese pizza with American cheese was really good! The ricotta is so fresh and delicious, I could eat a bucket of it. The pasta is above average; I ordered the arrabiata, which was quite spicy. They also have these yummy roasted peppers that are worth a try. A good place to grab a bite or take something to go. Lol It's the worst 80s stuff. Freestyle? I don't even know what to call it. I've never known one song that is being played. With the expansion, the place also looks great and isn't as cramped as it was. And don't listen to these other peckerwoods complaining about delivery. I've gotten delivery via Grubhub about ten times over the past year and have had zero problems. The pizza was decent, however I was a little unimpressed with the four cheese pizza as it literally had strips of American cheese topping it though it claimed it had cheddar. They also sent us burnt garlic knots, which were basically inedible so I was not happy with that. It was ok at best. read more
