Both were genuinely tasty--the pasta was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, while the chicken cutlet had a nice crispy coating that made it hard to put down. That said, I was a little surprised at how small the portions were--it felt more like a taste test than a full meal. I'm not sure I'd get the penne ala vodka again, but I'm definitely curious to explore other items on the menu. From the initial booking process- Nick, Kayla and Claudia were on top of everything- immediate responses and so efficient. Janice decorated the entire space Christmas festive - the room is beautiful warm and cozy yet spacious. Sicilian Grandma Slice was marvelous. This is pretty much the only slice I get all the time and it's pretty authentic. Fresh mozzarella, fresh red crush tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. Must've passed Gemelli's 100 times as we made a right turn off. Eastchester road onto North Avenue. Finally stopped in and sat down on the restaurant side. The pizzeria side had people at the counter picking up pizza orders. There were a few tables with customers at them also. On the restaurant side there about 10 other tables. With a few patrons. As we sat down the waiter came over and filled our water glasses and put down a bread basket. He took our drink orders and came back a few seconds later. I was not in the mood for Italian food so I ordered chicken noodle soup and a cheeseburger, medium brown with sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato, and French fries. My daughter ordered roasted cauliflower as an appetizer and for dinner she ordered the eggplant rollatine appetizer for dinner and an Arugala salad. Opening day at our new location was intense. Long lines and high demand. It's days like this, that rewarding the staff, is important. After not being happy with the last location, I found "Gemelli Pizzeria" on Yelp and decided it was the place. I spoke with someone over the phone. They accepted payment so that was convenient. I ordered three pies and they told me forty minutes. I was impressed with how close to the time it was delivered. They came, but forgot plates, but quickly returned with them, so it wasn't a issue. I liked how the boxes were taped off for safety, it was nice to see the owner cares about small details. We took the pies to the break room and the staff quickly started eating it. A much needed improvement over the last location, but still not city pizza. Everyone liked it, so that was nice to see. There were only about two slices left, so I know it was definitely we received. If I need pizza again I will probably use them again. read more

So we ordered two personal pies to share and an order of the house made mozzarella sticks . We ordered a buffalo chicken pie and a chicken vodka pie. It really wasn't great. The buffalo was far better than the vodka pie , it just didn't have a lot of flavor and was very mushy. The mozzarella sticks honestly looked and tasted like freezer food. This place is great. Great food, always running some kind of special, friendly service. I appreciate the separation as well between one room and the other. Um, can we get it together Gemelli's? I continue supporting my neighborhood businesses, especially during this unprecedented time that we're all going through with the pandemic. In the recent months, I've been ordering from Gemelli's pretty frequently. I order directly online from them. Their website redirects you to ChowNow, and ultimately that is how the order is processed. The other night I placed an order through their website/ChowNow and it took 3 hours- yes you heard right- 3 hours for my food to come!! What's wrong with me you ask? Well, I was craving their food and they're one of the few restaurants in the neighborhood that delivers without having to go through those ridiculous third party delivery services like DoorDash or GrubHub. I placed my order at 5:30 pm. ChowNow sends me an email saying my order will be delivered around 7 pm. Ok, an hour and a half-long but doable. 7 pm rolls around- nothing. 7:15- nothing. 7:30- nothing. I then call the restaurant. Busy. Busy again...busy 7x later. Finally their phone rang and the man who answered said that they never received my order because ChowNow was down and they never emailed my order to restaurant until now. Weird. I was upset but I was also really hungry at that point and didn't want to have to deal with reordering from another place so I still asked them to send me the order. The order showed up at my door around 8:30 pm. So it took 3 hours to finally eat that night. The crazy part is is that I was expecting at least some kind of free dessert or some thing for the inconvenience, because the man on the other end was very apologetic for the mistake. The least they could've done was send me a little something especially the fact that I've been a customer of theirs for years. I told one of my friends about the situation and she said I was being too kind and that she wouldn't have been so understanding. To each his own I guess. Level up Gemelli's! Make sure your systems are working right, and if your customers have to wait three hours to finally get their food- the least you could have done was send a free dessert or knock something off the bill! Also, something similar has happened to me again recently (not to mention that they have a history of inconsistencies with their delivery system), but the 3 hours the other night topped the charts! That being said, I won't be ordering from them again. Try their sister restaurants : WTG or Posto. They seem to have a better delivery system in place and value their customers. read more
