Was doing a food crawl with my brother in Nassau and we were in the mood for some good Korean fried…read morechicken and this place popped up on our search. It did not disappoint! I've already been here twice since we discovered it last week. First I'll start off with saying that there is a decent amount of seating here, about 6 tables, each with a seating capacity of 4 people. I've seen larger parties here combining tables to accommodate. I like the fact that you also order and pay at the counter and can relax at your table waiting for your name to be called. It is clean and well-kept inside. Also, I'm a strong believer of "you can tell a lot about the kitchen and food ethics of a place just based off of how a restaurant keeps their bathroom" and the bathrooms here are also kept clean. Something I will say is that their service can be inconsistent when it comes to wait time- our first visit, we waited a decent amount of time for our wings to be ready- I would say upwards of 30 minutes and we noticed there was a table that arrived after us and got their wings before us. This time around, it was about the same amount of packed and we waited I would say 15 minutes max for our wings and our ddeok bokki combined. Pleasant change but still notable. Also, we've ordered the 8 pc wings both times, it's important to note the first time we were given 2 radish cups with our order, and when we went yesterday they said it's only 1 per order. So there is some inconsistency in that as well. Now to the food! What we've had: - Ddeok-bokki: First time having this and the lady at the counter recommended it without cheese as a first time experience. Pretty good! The rice cakes were perfectly cooked and the sauce is definitely spicy with a hint of sweetness. I enjoyed this although was not able to finish it- this is a good shareable I feel with others to have complimentary with the wings, if you like ddeok bokki. - 8pc Soy Garlic Wings: BESTTTTTTT. Literally top notch Korean fried wings!!! When I tell you the the outside has the nicest crunch and amount of coating and the inside of the wing is moist, perfectly cooked!!! Also the soy garlic sauce is so evidently homemade, the garlic tastes fresh and definitely powers through the flavor. I've been a long time soy garlic Korean fried chicken wing fan and these soy garlic wings definitely take the cake!! Like, everytime I crave Korean fried chicken wings, this is the spot I will think about and the standard I will have for any future Korean fried chicken spots. (**Worth noting** no mix and matching sauces for the 8 piece wing- you must choose 1 sauce for the order) - Radish: the radish is so crisp and sweet and compliments the wings perfectly with that kick of freshness in between bites. I would possibly suggest having some toothpicks for customers and hand wipes to help afterwards since napkins don't really do the job after eating such a finger heavy food. I asked for toothpicks my first visit and unfortunately they don't have them and hand wipes comes as an automatic assumption given the type of food. Overall a greattttt experience. Will definitely be back for more.

I had the soy garlic which is so damn tasty. The fries, though? Not a fan. Bland, undercooked, and basically just there for emotional support. Also on price you get what you pay for. A lot of people seemed to be grabbing takeout. I wish I had tried more of the Korean specialties, so I'll definitely be back. The cashier was friendly. Overall, come for the chicken. The fries can take a hike.

I ordered lamb platter with white rice, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and that divine white sauce spread all over the top. The lamb was cut into small cubes and they were tasty! It came with two small plastic containers of red hot sauce and two containers of an earthy green sauce. I didn't try the green sauce; the hut sauce was zesty & complemented the meal well. Ambiance was nothing to write back home to mom about. It was a clean space, it was kind of sterile. Good thing I don't eat ambiance. So with that, the food was very good & it hit the proverbial spot! The chicken/lamb combo over rice was a standout! Perfectly seasoned with a generous drizzle of their creamy white sauce. I decided to add french fries because I was really hungry but in retrospect, that might have been a little overboard. The gyro was also bomb. Smother it in white sauce and hot sauce for a perfect blend of flavors. My only gripe is that some of the chicken had ligaments in it. I'm not really a fan of chewing on those things but it was just a few and overall the food was great!

We have been wanting to try Spice Gardens, especially since it has Kerala specialties. Elizabeth…read moretold us the chef is from Kochi! We began with the dragon chicken, Fish Polichathu (an off menu item she recommended with beautiful spices and served wrapped in a banana leaf), and the generously portioned samosa chat (my favorite samosa chat we have ordered to date with delicate, flaky pastry on the samosas!) For the entree, we tried two Kerala specials- the Alleppey Fish Curry and Nadan Chicken Curry. We were dining in the restaurant and Elizabeth was so attentive and sincere in ensuring our experience was pleasing so she had me taste each for the spice levels once they arrived at the table. We had children in our party so we decided the chicken curry might need to be less spicy and she took it back to the kitchen to add more coconut milk and brought yogurt to help. She initiated making sure that everyone was having a good experience. We also had chicken biryani and both poratta and garlic naan. So comforting and fresh! Everything is made to order. So it can be easily accommodated to any palate or allergy. Elizabeth even noticed one of my children was looking a little cold and offered to adjust the thermostat! She also noticed a couple younger children were favoring the breads over the curries so she recommended the butter chicken and then surprised us with the dish on the house! It was so sweet and creamy. A definite hit! We are looking forward to more experiences at a Spice Gardens! It is obvious they take this business seriously and have a high level of quality in everything they do. So many smiles- both from the staff and those dining with us! We highly recommend Spice Gardens and wish them well in East Meadow!

Also an egg inside the biriyani would make it exactly to like Kerala style. The take out service is pretty quick, can call ahead and pick up. The portions are decent as well. I hope this business expand n comes more towards queens like Bellrose area.
