We were given the wrong pizza. We called and they told us it was ready and we could come back immediately to get it. We got there and were asked to wait...finally got our pizza after an hour. In town visiting on by for Fathers Day and came for lunch today. Clearly dad and crew eat here a lot as the waitress Kara knows all about the fam, knows their orders, etc. the pizza options are plentiful so I finally decided on a Buffalo chicken. The crust is very thin and crispy almost as of it were a tortilla shell. I like thin and crispy so suited me just fine. The cheesy garlic bread was very good too!! read more

Been coming to the Fair Ave location for years. When they make their own dough they can't be beat. Great pizzas with ample fresh toppings. BUT . . . Last three visits (over a 6 week period), during the week around 4pm-ish, we've only ever gotten pizza that is on a "shell" (not made in-house, fresh) and well it's simply awful. It ruins the quality each and every time. I'm not sure why they've begun doing this but they are going to lose us as customers if it happens again. Please, please, please - respect your customers enough to take the time and make your own dough! Thank you. read more

We visited Pizza Cottage while on a road trip, at the recommendation of the front desk worker at our hotel in Lancaster. We went online to look at the menu, called in the order, and picked it up about 20 minutes later. The order was ready & waiting when we arrived. This was during the Covid19 Pandemic, and workers had masks (though the cashier's was pulled down) and there were very few eat-in customers. Our vegetable pizza was good- fresh veggies piled on top of a thin crust. There was very little sauce- if I'd known that, I would have asked for extra. The wings were "meh"- it was either a dry rub or very little sauce, not sure which, but we weren't impressed. The fried mozzarella, though, was fantastic- no tiny sticks here, but nice big wedges with a really good marinara sauce for dipping. We'd eat here again. read more

This is a pizza that's hit or miss. They have two ways of ordering it: extra crispy, which they'll then put your pie on a special pan to make the crust crispy, or you can order it well-done, which means your pizza goes through their oven a bit longer, your crust isn't crispy, but all of your toppings and cheese will be extra brown. The pepperoni is particularly thick. And don't count on the chicken being anything but pressed chicken instead of real chicken in their Tenders or on their pizza. I definitely don't recommend it in any way! Occasionally we get a good pizza baked just right, and where the spicy pepperoni doesn't consume the whole taste of the pizza. read more

Stopped by when driving thru after we found this place on Yelp. It was a Friday at 7pm, drive-thru was packed, pick up room was crowded, but we only waited 5 minutes for a table. We ordered a house salad (portion was very large). We also had a large pizza in both the regular crust and Sicilian crust (4 people). Both crusts were good, and sauce had good flavor. The food is fine here, generic pizza, can't go wrong. I'd give it a 4 star, but I can't because some of the employees who work here are some of the worst human beings in existence. I've recognized some of them in other places harassing employees there. Until these people are gone, I will not be ordering from this pizza cottage again. read more

This place used to be the best pizza place in town hands down. Since it got sold to new owners it's consistently went down hill. With old owners it didn't matter when you ordered it was always consistent the same pizza the same sub all the time. Now your at the mercy of who's in the kitchen. It's always swimming in sauce. The subs are messey we always get the ruthie way it's swimming in mayo falls apart. The cheese on the pizza is never edge to edge. The outer pieces never have any thing on them. Ordered a BLT pizza tonight. We had a lot of L and T and Mayo but there was literally less than 1/4 cup of bacon, if that, on our pizza. You couldn't even taste it. Used to be our favorite place to get a BLT pizza but not tonight. We got a medium pizza and large garden salad for $20 which would have been fine if there was any bacon on it. This is our second time trying Pizza Cottage. We ordered a BBQ pizza, a chef salad, and an order of bread sticks. All was fine until we came home to realized we didn't receive our cup of garlic sauce and the salad was sad. The pizza was good, a bit greasy but full of flavor. You would think when the online menu says your salad will come with tomatoes and eggs- that's what you'd expect. But didn't see any in mine. The lettuce isn't a blend of iceberg and romaine...you can easily fine this bag of lettuce at Kroger's for a couple bucks which is disappointing. Paid $33 for a large pizza and two salads. The pizza was burnt, had to order another one and wait another 15 minutes. Not the first time I got a burnt pizza. Salad, very little lettuce and no tomatoes, bacon was burnt as well. Pizza was so greasy ended up in the trash. $33 down the drain. This place has gone down since Larry Tipton took over. Last time I eat here. Will go across town and get Pizza Crossing, never had an issue with their pizza. read more

Being from Columbus, and surrounded by amazing pizza places, I expect to be blown away if I am going to reccommend any pizza place. Unfortunately, Pizza Cottage did not do it for me. The crust is thin, and impossible to cut with the butter knives they give you. Not too mention its so greasy; the cardboard, my plate, and my fingers were covered! I couldn't go through enough napkins. We had a large group and had reserved the back room, so our waitress was very attentive and the food came out quick! We ordered several, but the ones I tried were the Whole Hog (literally every meat) and the Pepperoni. It was packed full of meats, which was a plus - but I found the prices so high! $15 for a large pizza that wasn't really that large? I don't know...just didn't seem worth it for the quality. They offer a good selection for the adults, adult beverages and fancy pizza's, but also seem to satisfy the kids with their kids menus. I went to Pizza Cottage not knowing what to expect. I left with a positive experience. Some family and I went for a birthday lunch, and they are Pizza Cottage veterans. The BLT pizza was practically mandatory. The rest fell into place. I trusted their judgment and waited for the food. The atmosphere is very homey; brick walls and TVs line the walls. It's not a loud environment, even with the playoff games on. My first complaint is that the waitress talked too quietly. The restaurant isn't loud, but it's also not a library. Maybe I'm just hard of hearing, but it's frustrating having to ask someone to repeat themself - for both parties. The food came! Cheesy breadsticks with marinara, loaded baked potato pizza, and the aforementioned BLT. Breadsticks get a "yes." Cheesy. Chewy, in the right way. Marinara has the right spiciness. Good. The loaded baked potato pizza was OK. The neatness factor is played with the packet of sour cream that comes with it. My issue is that it's kinda bland. Pizza crust and potato adds a lot of starch, and this needed a few shots of hot sauce. The bacon added a great level of smokiness, though. The BLT pizza was the clear winner. Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, with another plain cooked pizza crust layered on top - you eat it like a sandwich! I'd go back just for this. My first visit was positive, so this place gets four stars. I'll review again after a few more visits! read more

My wife and I love their pizza. It is one of our top 3 places in Lancaster to get pizza. I would like to see a better selection of beers. They don't have any craft beers on tap. Service is always good, even on a busy Friday night when we are usually here. read more

I walked into the store front on West fair Avenue and was greeted by two young girls who were extremely pleasant. My pizza was about halfway done and I ask them if they can cut it into squares which they did with no problem, I asked where the bathroom was and they directed me to it and in true country fashion gave me a landmark to look for lol ( which was the trash cans). I get the pizza take a look at it and it's perfect. The mushrooms were fresh the pepperoni was fresh and the sauce was perfect (I asked for it lite). The most memorable thing about this place though was the bathroom, it smelled like vanilla lol. Great place I'll be going back. For a medium with 3 toppings it was $15 by the way read more

The worst sub I have ever had. Soggy, cold , a tiny bit of lettuce, a few banana peppers and a couple of nasty tomatoes. By far the worst.

Steak was a gray patty, the sandwich was better without it. Asked for no onions on salad and sandwich but tasted them a little so either the lettuce is cross contaminated or they put them on and took them off. Server kaitlyn was very good- attentive and fast. Might come back but will probably just stick to pizza. read more

Terrible. Literally everyone else that came in after us for the their food before ours. One of our four dinners came out, then two others, now 15 mins later and the last person in our party still hasn't been served. Asked for the manager, he came out with an attitude when we simply asked where our food was when everyone else around us had been served long before us. Manger very hostile and screaming at people in the back so loud you can hear them through the whole restaurant. Will never be coming back again. read more

Working on the road if you eat out it usually has to be delivered and if youre in a hotel these guys will bring it to you and its at the door in about 30 mins rather than the usual 45-an hour. I worked at a pizza place in high school for 4 years so quality of the pie is a must, and im very picky. Well Pizza Cottage met the standard in taste and their little pepperoni were a nice change cuz you get a bunch. Also got a calzone that had LOTS of cheese in it. Usually cheese is the most skimped on topping cuz it costs the company the most but no skimping here. Overall good and their website is easy to navigate. read more

Overall average pizza and definitely not my favorite in Lancaster. Ordered a medium cheese pizza and a garden salad to-go. The pizza was fairly greasy, but I expected that going in. What I didn't remember and didn't expect was how salty it tasted. It wasn't necessarily bad, just not my style. What was off putting was the garden salad. It was missing the carrots and red cabbage..forgivable. However, it was one of the least green salads I've ever seen.. seriously, it was 75% white/translucent lettuce stalks and that weird part in the middle of a head of lettuce. But, the tomatoes were at least red and a copious amount of super potent onions. Overall, this place is middle of the pack and memorable for the wrong reasons in my mind. Pizza is personal. Just look at how many different styles, and variations of those styles are available. There IS a central Ohio style pizza, and Pizza Cottage is a master of it. The style: 1. thin crusts 2. edge-to-edge toppings 3. cut into squares. We were there Sunday and got our best yet. Pep and sausage, with green peppers, mush, onion over half. Thin crust was crispy and the toppings were fresh, cooked just right. And this is the best pizza for eating cold. Make sure to get enough to take some home. read more
