The place has that classic small-town dive bar feel, the kind of spot where you walk in expecting a casual bite and end up being pleasantly surprised by how good the food actually is. It's relaxed, welcoming, and feels like a place locals probably keep to themselves. We started with something called Hillbilly Calamari, and despite the name, there's no squid involved. Instead, it's sliced banana peppers lightly breaded and fried, served with ranch. They were crispy, tangy, and had just the right little kick. A really fun and unique starter. Served with ranch dressing 9/10 But the wings absolutely stole the show. They're slow smoked first and then flash fried, which gives them a great smoky flavor while keeping the outside crispy and the inside juicy and tender. I tried two flavors -- Cody's mix which was Bourbon BBQ mixed with spicy garlic which had a great smoky flavor a sweet and savory richness with a hint of kick from the bourbon and I ordered the Spicy Garlic, which packed a bold garlicky heat that really popped. Both wings were excellent. 20/10 And of course, you can't go wrong with the fresh-cut fries on the side. Fries were good, but could have been a little crispier for my preference. 7/10 One of the coolest things about the place is the grill right behind the bar, where you can watch them as they're cooking your burger while you watch. It adds to that laid-back, old-school bar atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel authentic. Katy was are server and she was super friendly and on top of refills and kept checking on us. This is definitely a place that makes you feel comfortable and welcome. If you're anywhere near Ashville, this is definitely worth a stop. I've mentioned before inconsistency in the meal quality. This time is wasn't the merely the prep but the meat ( fried pork tenderloin "Big-T" at food trucks) just tasted very off. Almost spoiled. I only ate about 1/2. The fries were bland and uninspired. Small town dining experience with inconsistent results. I like dining local and will probably continue but less often here.

Also, a special sauce for Minecraft month, Nether Hot or something. Moderately spicy, but one-note flavor, basically a hot pepper sauce. Meh. The place was a bit dirty, crumbs on tables, sticky floor in areas, etc. All the kiosks were down, and there was a wait at the one register open. They had no cars in the drive thru and no one inside when we walked in. There was a male and female employees that we could see but Neither came to greet us or take our order. A car then pulls in the drive thru the male employee took their order and came up to get their item. Then another car comes and he takes their order. I then hear the female employee tell him to go get our order after he finishes with that car. He comes over, takes our order, we pay. He never washes his hand, no gloves at all. He takes a couple of the donuts from an open container that had been sitting on top of donut case and puts in our box as well as a couple from the case. We leave and realize that half of the donuts were stale and hard.

My first choice before the footlong was to ask if they had barbecue beef sandwiches, as it is often a standard item on DQ menus - I didn't see it on the menu - sure enough, this sandwich was also not available. Once I worked out my selections the food I did purchase was well prepared. They appear to have a dining area inside but I used the drive-thru window. The employees were friendly and it wasn't long before I was back on the road.
