Blades is one of several pizza places in Ashville. It's amazing there's so many. This small town can handle all these. It has pizza but also subs. The inside is pretty big and has a few TVs. Like the other pizza places this is locally owned. It doesn't have to compete against national brands. This is better than anything you can get at a pizza chain. It seems like in this town this place is the best. The interior is large enough to bring in many guests. It has several TVs to watch games. The pizzas are good but if you're just wanting something not so large try a sub. It's about $6 for each. The vegetable sub comes with mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. At first it looks kind of generic, but the bread has a nice crispness. This also goes good with pizza sauce. read more

"Help yourself. It's FREE!" When was the last time you heard any business giving away something worthy for free? I was blown away. I know it's just ice cream, but it screams family business taking care of families. A co-worker mentioned this spot. We finally found a page on Facebook with a menu. Ordering was easy, and finding the building was even easier. A dozen or more parking spaces right out front. Inside was a big space of tables and some TV's. Video games are in many corners to entertain all the ages. A self serve counter holds a Pepsi fountain machine (see pic), condiments, plates, silverware, and a soft serve ICE CREAM machine. 2 liter soda or gallons of tea (see pic) are available for carryout or dine in. Open certain days for lunch and delivery. We chose specialty pizzas and a sub. The staff was super friendly, and eager to answer all my questions. They easily split up our orders for separate payments. That's when they clued me in, all guests can enjoy a cup, or cone of ice cream (see pic). Vanilla, chocolate or twist. Also carryout guests. So worth going to go pick up an order. I enjoyed the thin crust size (see pic), but found it's taste average. I was surprised to see the commercial upright mixer in the kitchen for dough making. Very happy they don't have sweet sauce. It was mild, not full of flavor. I wish they would offer Old World Pepperoni. No complaints on the abundance of toppings (see pic). They fully admit online that they use canned mushrooms. Co-worker said the Italian sub(see pic) was okay, but everyone wants so much more extra filling. We were all surprised to find the mini salad(see pic) came in a styrofoam sandwich box. We expected $1.75 might get us less. Prices are very fair. They also have some lunch specials. We had a great experience at Blades Pizza tonight. Ashley was our server and she was so pleasant and very observant, repeating our orders to ensure accuracy. My tea glass was never empty! I had the Grandma Smiths Garden pizza and it was loaded with toppings. The crust is thin and crispy and has a nice flavor. The pizza seemed like it was sitting for 15 min before it even left the store. The wings were super greasy. Other than all listed above the food was good and had great flavors. Sadly, my boneless bbq nuggets taste great. However, we had a takeout order and my husbands wing sauce was missing. That alone I could overlook. However, I ordered the loaded fries which the menu on Facebook does not mention anything about bacon, and their website doesn't even have loaded fries listed. Yet, our fries came covered in bacon. When I called to ask about a refund (as we definitely didn't want it), the person I spoke with was so incredibly disrespectful and rude, arguing that the menu in store had bacon listed and started to laugh (with others in background) when I was trying to ask about refunding just the fries. I hung up with her, then called back to get the name whom I just spoken with and ask who to contact about my concern with the rudeness and lack of customer service. I was met with equal if not additional attitude and was told that if I saw their menu on Facebook, then that's facebooks issue and has nothing to do with them!?!? She gave me the first name of the person in charge I needed to get in touch with and when I asked for their last name she said "I have no idea." She said to call back on Monday and when I asked what time the owner would be in (because I think she needs to be made aware of the lack of customer service) the response was "I don't know, she's the boss and comes in when she wants." The first pizza I got was for carry out, they offered my daughter ice cream while we waited!! That was awesome, the pizza is even better!! I have gotten pizza there multiple time never been let down. We have eaten there multiple times the food is always good. Tonight we went in and sat on the left side of the restaurant. The table number sign had spider web all over it and I looked up at the picture above our table and there were spider eggs on the bottom of the pic. I asked the waitress for some napkins to wipe things down. She came back and kinda wiped them away. Then she said they don't use that side much that's why we don't clean it. We were never offered refills, we had to get them ourselves which was no biggie it is Friday night. I had to go up and ask for our bill, I paid. Then I told her that the others at our table needed their bill, her response was, I'm busy. WOW. We gotten a pizza their about a month or so ago & haven't went back since. Pizza taste like old dough and nasty. I called in to let the girl know who answered the phone that their pizza wasn't any good . She thought I wanted something FREE! I did not accept anything FREE! Just wanted to tell them whoever they have fixing that night wasn't doing a very good job! Pizza ingredients tasted OLD. Last night on Oct 9 our family decided to give Blazes one more chance! I am so glad we did!:) their pizza was excellent! Thin crisp crust with the right amount of sauce! I give them a 10+. I don't know what they did to improve everything but keep it up! Service as excellent with the girl smiling & friendly. Just the attitude of the people & the vibe of the restaurant was a very nice feeling!
