Worms in the food! Gusanos en la comida! Do not eat here. I used to love this restaurant but now i'm grossed out. I immediately saw it moving around. ZERO stars if I could. The waitress and manager didn't even seemed surprised or say sorry.

This wasn't terrible by any means, but was a reminder/lesson that it's usually not the best idea to pick a place based on the Google description. My chum and I came here right off a plane from the nearby airport (literally a two-minute drive from the rental car garage) because we were pretty hungry, had a long drive ahead of us, and a quick perusal of the Google Maps of the nearby vicinity identified this as "award-winning Mexican." Call me skeptical. I don't know Phoenix well but I don't get the impression this neighborhood is the best (though in its defense, I'm hard-pressed to think of too many areas near airports that are). It was actually a little difficult to locate Pitic and its entrance because it has two separate businesses - the darkest bar I've ever walked inside of and a regular sit-down restaurant - and only the bar has any signage identifying itself. One of the employees at the bar immediately realized we were in the wrong place and nobly pointed us in the right direction. Both sections have bars covering the windows as well, which I usually associate with gun stores in NJ, but it's possible that's just a common feature around here. I ordered the chicken enchiladas (about $11), with beans and rice on the side (an extra $3 or $4 I think). I've been to my share of Mexican restaurants, and this is definitely the first time the rice and beans wasn't automatically included as part of the meal. Interestingly, the waitress went out of her way to suggest/offer them as an add-on, so I certainly got the impression a lot of people opt for them, in which case why not make it officially part of the entrée? It's a good thing I did though, because the one half of the enchiladas that I was able to coat with rice and beans was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, they ran out at that point and my first bite of the second half of the enchiladas was my last. They were SUPER dry and tasteless without those sides - pretty easy fix though. Beyond the specific food issues, the service and price point were excellent. Our waitress was very, very nice, and the other female staffer came by a few times to helpfully remind us that some of our dishes were very hot. Everything came out within a couple of minutes and we both did a double-take when we saw how low the bill was. You have a lot of options in the Phoenix area for generic Mexican. I'd probably go somewhere else where the food is a little tastier and the neighborhood a little less skuzzy.

Not bad for a quick bite We found Pitic on Yelp and decided to try it after reading so many positive reviews . If you ignore the exterior and step inside, you'll be able to get a decent meal at a very reasonable price. Pitic is a casual dining Mexican restaurant with great service. On this visit we had the enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, and salsa. Pitic offers two kinds of salsa's, one chunky with peppers, onions, and seasoning and the other a tomato based thinner sauce both were tasty and the chips were fresh and crispy. The enchiladas were good as was the rice, both were flavorful and nicely seasoned. Overall I would recommend this eatery, you won't be disappointed.

Decent food! Me and my wife got the nachos. They were big portions but I didn't like the shredded meat much.

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. If you like Mexican food and seafood, you need to try it. Great food, big portions, and a menu that makes it hard to stop ordering.

Omg, one of my favorite dining experiences of 2025!…read more I came to Pa'La on a Tuesday night with friends and we shared several plates that were all absolutely fantastic! On top of that, the service was incredible. The main host, chef? Idk, but either way, he educated us on every dish, was clever and witty, and made us feel so comfortable. It's a very intimate setting, cozy, and feels like a romantic or chill evening. I felt so satisfied after this visit in every way and I can't wait to go back! EVERYTHING we ordered was fantastic and we all wanted to wipe our plates clean... what I really mean is lick the plates... and I'm pretty sure we were trying to do this but in a nicer way. If I had to pick a fav, probably the branzino... and everything else was a close 2nd.

My husband and I came here for lunch on Valentine's Day and it was fantastic! We were seated outside on the patio, it was lovely as the weather was perfect. They had many plants and trees including a lemon and grapefruit tree! We ordered a variety dishes to share like the beef tartare with squid ink milk bread, Japanese sweet potato, Spanish octopus, golden beets and roasted cauliflower. I was impressed with everything. You can taste the quality in each ingredient and I appreciate that. My husband and I agreed that the Spanish octopus was our favorite dish. It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. It was still good but everything else tasted better to me. Pa'La is a bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting or for a date night!
