I found Türkiye a foodies paradise and Istanbul Grill has certainly captured that same spirit. As I found in Türkiye, the people at Istanbul Grill are so kind, gracious and welcoming. The service is amazing! The ambiance is simple but extremely clean with beautiful photographs of the city. I had to drag my boyfriend by the hand and take him on a visual tour of the city with their photos. "Excuse me, I just need to interrupt your dinner so we can squeeze in behind you so I can show him this picture." OK , I was obnoxious, but that is how excited I was to see all of the beautiful photos. The ONLY recommendation I would ever give is that they make lamhacun more often than just Sundays! BOTTOM LINE - just go! The food, people and ambiance is so worth it! Oh! My boyfriend has decided that their falafel is his new favorite cookie!

The food was so burning hot and fresh we could barely eat it. We couldn't wait for it to cool because it was incredibly tasty. Today however changed my mind. I went in at 1pm to place my order and eat it out in my car. I waited about 5 minutes for my gyro and fries and ate my meal about 1 minute after receiving it from the girl inside. Everything was lukewarm. Not hot, just warm. I am very disappointed! The flavor was there but it just wasn't even hot

I have seen several mixed reviews on this restaurant but I don't hold much faith in those. Haters are gonna hate. I ordered the jumó gyro. Was made fresh by an extremely friendly lady. I thought the restaurant was clean but it looked tired. I know that takes money in these difficult times. As for for for the sandwich, it was good. Fresh tomatoes were very good. The only downside and it's not their fault is the pita bread. Wrapping it up to go is not ideal. The bread soaked in its own juices and the bread gets soggy. I would not hesitate to go back. It's appears to be a local family that runs it and I love supporting locals. Give it a try.

As always the selection was broad, with a selection of typical diner fare (burgers, fries, etc) along with cool Greek offerings. Of course I had the signature Gyro platter. The 2 young ladies behind the counter were attentive, friendly and helpful. As far as the decor or atmosphere, that's not why I was there. It doesn't even aspire to be "fancy". It was clean, bright with background music suitable for the business. What else is there to say? A variety of good, well prepared food, great prices, friendly staff, and a clean place to enjoy it. I can't say anything about the service or ambiance because we had take out. All the meat - lamb and beef were so dried out and hard, you'd almost think they deliberately made jerky. None of it was eatable. The "pesto humus" had zero pesto flavor, did they just forget in both orders? I actually tasted mayonnaise, which was very appetizing! The tabouli had what tasted like wine vinegar instead of the traditional lemon base dressing. Either way, it was way too tart. I'm thinking they didn't care about food quality because it was takeout to non residents of the area (we are from San Diego). Perhaps it goes without saying, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
