Maybe because I grew up eating this type of food I'm more critical, but I was very disappointed with the food here. I can't say anything about the service or ambiance because we had take out. All the meat - lamb and beef were so dried out and hard, you'd almost think they deliberately made jerky. None of it was eatable. The "pesto humus" had zero pesto flavor, did they just forget in both orders? I actually tasted mayonnaise, which was very appetizing! The tabouli had what tasted like wine vinegar instead of the traditional lemon base dressing. Either way, it was way too tart. I'm thinking they didn't care about food quality because it was takeout to non residents of the area (we are from San Diego). Perhaps it goes without saying, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

I can't speak for the food at Aladdin's because I always pick up a carry out order of Hummus and Tabouli. Something my wife loves and tells me it's the best she's ever enjoyed. Picking up the order I asked for Baklava, and I also picked up something called Lady Fingers. I would suggest Aladdin's to drop these two products, they were absolutely the worst I've ever had. I did notice it was produced and packaged from out of state. So, it's really not a product of Aladdin's. Seems Aladdin's could find a much better product made close by in Cleveland. read more

Last night, fifteen minutes before closing, Bradley greeted me and two friends with warmth, grace, and amazing positive energy. We were politely informed that they would be closing soon and allowed to dine in. The music was perfect and matched our amazing host and server (apologies for not remembering his name). Our order was taken and we were reassured we had time to enjoy our meal. As always, Aladdin's did NOT disappoint! We three dined, laughed, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Aladdin's has a plethora of plant-based options, and you can filter the menu on their website by vegetarian or vegan options only which is hugely helpful. There are so many plant-based options, in fact, that I had a difficult time choosing! After much internal debate, I chose Farrouk's Falafel Pitza, which starts with one of Aladdin's pita breads as its crispy and chewy base. The pitza is spread with Aladdin's tahini lemon dressing and then topped with falafel, banana peppers, diced tomatoes, and chopped fresh parsley. The dish sounds simple but the flavor of it is anything but. The tahini lemon dressing serves as a creamy base, the falafel add a perfectly spiced, perfectly crunchy element, the banana peppers add an acidic and tangy bite, and the tomatoes and parsley bring a fresh element to the dish that ties everything together. I most definitely can't wait to get back to Aladdin's again to try some of their other vegan fare. My meal was amazing, and I was so grateful to get back to Aladdin's again for a healthy, bright, vibrant plant-based dish. Even more important was the time that I got to spend with a friend who is more like a sister and the opportunity to create a beautiful memory over food. Passing through, I stopped for lunch, and ordered a curry chicken wrap. Walked around fir a while, went back to pick it up, then went across the street into the park to eat. curried chicken, sweet peas, onions, banana peppers, sliced tomatoes, cheddar, and honey dijon dressing in a wrap; delicious. Super tasty, vegan friendly, and loved the fact that they have one or two vegan dessert options too! I love a chain restaurant that doesn't feel like a chain? You get the consistency of a chain but with the benefits of a unique location. It's Oberlin, so you know it's going to have good music, and the atmosphere was really comfortable. Enjoyed the way the walls were painted and the art that was up. Again, it's Oberlin so...it was absolutely on-point. The food was phenomenal! Had the Spicy Cauliflower, which I could absolutely eat every day, and the Jasmine's Favorite that was super filling. Had to order some pita and hummus, and that rounded out the meal perfectly. Okay so I'm visiting from California for a graduation here. Decided to visit this location and try their food. Not gonna lie but Cali has some amazing Mediterranean food so was a bit skeptical on this place. To start off this location was a little small but I didn't care. I was here for the food. I had the falafel and a shawarma. They were really good. I would t say outstanding but good. The service was great except at the end of my lunch I was being rushed out. My poor server was very apologetic but I was not very happy. How can you rush someone when they have not even finished eating. So thanks for the okay food but will not be coming back. I'm a big fan of customer service but this place just lost my vote. So when you're in town if you wanna try them go ahead just be sure you eat fast enough so you aren't rushed out too. read more

I have recently started to branch out at Aladdins instead of ordering my regular rolls and hummus (which I love) I have started to try some of their dinners. On my most recent trip I had the lamb dinner and it was awesome. Also if you stop at this location and you have Sarah she is the smoothie queen so try a fresh fruit smoothie. All of the aladdins have been regular stops for me and that is unlikely to change. read more

Another five star visit... Came in for a late lunch, and of course my favorite place has been earned by Aladdins. Didn't see anyone we knew right away, so our random server was Gabriel. What a delight! He almost has Maddi tied...I hate to post the tiniest things, because there are starving children in Africa (and the US), and he was great- but he could swing by a bit more often. Really, no issues. Very friendly, polite, came back and asked about my order because it is a little wacky, he did a great job- we just ran out of pita twice. We also saw Chris, and he smiled and greeted us- even though we weren't his, he remembered us and made sure to be courteous. Food order was the same, except my dinner companion just had more hummus and skipped the Chicken Curry Roll. Apparently she thinks there is too much of some sauce, and last time she asked for very little yet she got more, and didn't like it...maybe she should share her experiences. Hummus was excellent as usual, full cup of hot sauce, and you get two olives with the large (their olives are awesome). As usual, Baba Garden Rolled. I finally figured out I don't like the solata. This time they gave extra greens and tomatoes as well as the olives (and a little cup of olives), and it was much fuller, and tasted great. Another excellent experience here, but I do have one little nitpick. When we were being seated, I asked if we could sit in the back, and the hostess clearly didn't care for me asking for another seat. She didn't get an attitude, or snotty, but her body language definitely said "then go seat yourself jerk wad" lol. The place was pretty empty, and if it isn't impeding anyone, I want my back to a wall, a corner, and sight of the door. ----------------------------------- Since my writing of the above, I've been another five times...it's hard to pass up! This is a legit place if you like Mediterranean food. We tried this place for lunch and we liked the food. The appetizers were great (probably one of the best Baba Gannouj I have ever tried). My wife`s Chicken Mishwi Salad was to die for and a pretty large portion. Len-Chili was good, but if you are a traditional Chilli lover maybe this dish is not for you. The meat was tasty and grilled to perfection. Everything was seasoned well. Service, in general, was good, but my server did not change my salad dressing when I said that the one she recommended was too oily and not for me. FANTASTICO! This place is a breath of fresh air for Oberlin, replacing a decidedly ho-hum Java Zone coffee shop that used to exist, just barely, on this corner. Aladdin's is a small Ohio chain with almost 30 locations and we've actually been in the original one in Lakewood and the one in the shopping center in Westlake. Both are delightful, as is this one. We had dinner here with 11 family members and sampled a huge variety of their dishes: Greek Chicken Salad, Fattoush, Taza Chicken Salad, Greek Pitza, Sultan's Sharwama Pitza, Aladdin's Lamb Rolled Pita, Spicy Kafta Rolled Pita, Arayiss Pitza, Kid's Grilled Cheese Pita, smoothies, tea and assorted Baklava for dessert.
