We love this cute little barbecue place! We typically share a meal, and always so glad that we do! There was plenty of food on the 2 meat plate for both of us to be fully satisfied! We got the chopped brisket and pork ribs with creamed, corn and coleslaw. The meats were yummy & very tender! The creamed corn had really good flavor, but the temperature could have been hotter. They told us ahead of time that the coleslaw had pineapple in it, so we thought that would be fun to try. It was good, but not something I would crave. From the outside, the small building belies how nice and clean it is inside. You know how singe small BBQ places are a lurks sketchy on cleanliness? Well, not this one; even the one-hole bathroom was spotless. Quick to order the 2 meat plate with brisket, jap-cheese sausage, with cole slaw and beans. Order came out fast, and meats were excellent. They put pineapple bits in their cole slaw, which is not my thing but still good; the beans were fantastic. Not much seating, but of the 5 customers that came in, I was the only one to dine in. He ordered a pound just so we could continue snacking on our way to Big Bend. I ordered the smoked turkey, potato salad and coleslaw. The sides were SO tasty. I loved the sweet coleslaw! They were so good that I forgot to snap a pic of them. The smoked turkey is the only reason I wouldn't immediately give them a 5. It was moist, but a little too salty for me. Definitely worth the stop!!!! We are traveling on Hwy 10 and stopped in Sonora. Very cute historic town. We drove by Pit Stop BBQ and it smelled so incredibly good we had to stop. We ordered the food to go but the bbq smoker smelled so good we stayed and ate under the covered patio with our dog. The food was excellent!!! I'm pescatarian so I had the loaded baked potato without meat. The potatoes are wrapped in foil and cooked in the smoker. Soooo good! My husband had the sliced brisket and ribs with coleslaw and creamed corn. He loved the BBQ! Very tender and delicious. The coleslaw was perfect, not too sweet and not too much vinegar and definitely homemade. I've never liked creamed corn but this side was delicious. Fresh shucked corn, not that soggy canned corn.
