We had a group of 6 and unfortunately only half of our meals were really good and the other half weren't even close. The ceviche had bad fish and the tamale had nothing but pork fat. CHEWED GUM FOUND IN FOOD. We were given a small dish of roasted nuts and decided to try them. One of my friends stopped chewing and looked in horror at what she pulled out of her mouth. Someone had stuck their chewed gum in the peanut dish. I signaled the waiter at the bar and let him and another guy standing there know what had just happened. The other man standing there actually said, "Yeah, that happens a lot. . .but usually people stick their gum under the table." There was no attempt by anyone to come over and apologize nor to see what could be done to help rectify our experience. My other friend who had gone to the bathroom while all of this was going on, said that the bathroom was left very sloppily- a trash bag left in the sink, wet floor that someone could have slipped on.... not a good first experience, to say the least. read more

After going to Peru last year I had to find Peruvian place somewhere in town and I'm glad someone recommended this restaurant. The food wasn't quite the same and the pisco sour lacked much flavor but they did have flavored pisco sours which I might do next time. For being nearly the only table in the restaurant, it did take a while to get drinks but it wasn't a terrible wait. The food is rapidly declining. Used to always go for the ceviche de tres colores that's suppose to be a tiradito meaning; cut small and thin. That was not the case anymore. And the flavor was bad. The only ok one is the natural flavor. I am full Peruvian, lived in Peru. I get it Peruvians aren't used to taking food off if it was not as expected. But it's very annoying when they make you switch it and not take it off. I had to take a dessert to go instead and was a suspiro which was also horrible. The worse part about it all no matter what they add automatically 20% tip and sales and service fee's so even if you get 2 dishes, it will always be an over $100 check for 2. Best dining experience I've had in a long time. The server/hostess was friendly, bubly, and the most hard-working girl I have seen, handling all 12 tables with spectacular service. Now, the food... oh, the food. We started with the Papa a la Huancaina, which was easily the best appetizer I've had. Followed by Lomo Saltado and Tallarines Verdes con Bistec. I have no words for how good these entrees are. I finished off the meal with their Tiramisu, not peruvian, I know, but let me be happy. Just moved to Colorado. Craved Peruvian food so took a shot here at Pisco. Inside is nice, looks like a fancy restaurant...but that's about it... Stay away new folks! Service was so bad. Had to constantly ask for water and she barely came. The waitress barely spoke any English and super unfriendly. MBut the biggest letdown was the food. (1) Fried Calamari: More batter than calamari. Calamari itself was super tough and hard to chew. (2) Lomo Salatado: How can you get this wrong? This is a staple Peruvian dish! Fries were microwaved and undercooked and the meat was so bad. (3) Fried rice with seafood: Didn't even come out...We had to ask them and they were making it then. Cancelled it. Then they added 20% gratuity in the bill! She didn't even apologize. First time trying it out. We ordered a Pisco Sour but were told they had no Pisco....made no sense bc the restaurant was called PISCO SOUR! Their AC was out, so it was hot as heck! Their prices were pretty high plus they added a 20% gratuity on top. The food was delicious, and portions were a good size. I got the aji de gallina, and my boyfriend got the Lomo Saltado. Firstly , Peruvian food is almost non - existent in Denver . Having that said , it would be really hard to give this place less than 5 stars . The restaurant itself is more like an event center . I initially thought it was going to be pricey but the prices are really fair for a classy reatUrant . Full service , full bar , really beautiful inside . I'd say this is more of a date night place . They have a stage where I assume performers sing for the retauRsnt . This place is HUGE !!!! but it all boils down to food and their POLLo a la brasa did not disappoint . Appetizer: I had the Pupa a la Huancaina - it was OMG delicious the Peruvian Yellow Pepper sauce was decadent and creamy. Entree: Tallarin Verde con Bisteck Frito y Yuca Frito - Delicious!! The steak was seasoned to perfection and paired well with the pasta. I went in open minded on the whim and based my dishes off of the servers recommendation who was great. So I took a few friends here for dinner. I love Peruvian food and was so excited to eat at this restaurant. Part of my excitement stemmed from their vegan options as one of my friends is vegan and has the worst time eating out. I'm pleased to report she turned in an empty plate! It was late and we were hungry so we skipped apps and went straight for the entrees. I ordered the jalea de pescado y mariscos platter, which is fancy for fried fish and seafood. It was all cooked just right, calamari was tender, sea bass was tender and light without an oily taste from being fried. The presentation was great too, almost too pretty to eat. We showed up 10 minutes before their closing time, the restaurant was full of people and they denied serving us because they said the kitchen "is annoyed" with a larger party they had at an earlier time. This was a fun spot. We came on a Sunday and they had a DJ. It was way to loud but cool none the less. The only thing that wasn't great was the terrible service. It was really bad. We couldnt get things ordered the way we wanted. The mother/daughter servers spoke zero English so it was really hard to order and they kept taking the menu away. I wish we could have spoke to the servers be cause we had questions and needed things. For 2 of us, we spent $200 we wanted to order a couple things at a time. We were there for over 3 hours. The waitress did deserve that 20% and I would have no problem giving it to her, but the way in which you impose a tip on yourself seemed somewhat advantageous regardless of whether good service was given or not. Been coming here for several years now to celebrate special occasions and introduce friends and family to Peruvian cuisine. Their Peruvian food is some of the best you'll find in the Denver area. I have loved every dish I've eaten here, but my favorites are their Lomo Saltado, Ceviche Mixto, and the Fettuccini a la Huancaina (pictured below). I highly recommend getting a Pisco Sour or trying their amazing non-alcoholic Peruvian fruit drinks as well. Their service is the only area that is lacking as it tends to be slow and inconsistent in terms of quality (sometimes they're prompt in taking your order, bring your food, etc. and other times not so much). My advice is don't go if you're in a rush. Regardless, it's worth stopping by if you want a delicious meal! read more

Very great tipical lomo saltado but the rice was dry. The papa a la huancaina could've been thicker and more flavorful. My grandma made me this growing up and I wasn't impressed with their flavor because of the thin texture and lack of boiled eggs. The selva negra cake was also dry and tasted more like a pane-tone than actual chocolate cake layered. Opted for take out which was prompt in timing. Will have to try a few different options next time and review more. Really grateful for this place. It is so amazing to have this gem here in Colorado. First time here. Ordered the ceviche mixto, combination arroz chaufa (combination fried rice) and an appetizer. Gotta order the pisco sour if you do go. It's a classic. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. We got to the restaurant around 8pm ish... but around 9pm, it looks like they take reservation and it's kind of like a night club? Very social atmosphere. Probably will have to check out the nightlife post covid but the food portions were great and there's plenty of things on the menu I would like to try next time read more

It was my first time at this location. Over a year ago, we had gone to the one in Lone Tree quite often and was bummed that it was closed. We had a good time for this visit. Service was fast and foods were delicious. Ceviche Mixto is always our goto dish every single time. Kinda having a hard time not ordering it. Wonder what secret they put lol. The seafoods in the Ceviche were so fresh and refreshing. The roasted chicken was also tasty and paired well with the fries. The fried rice was mediocre and we probably would like to try something else next time. The toasted corn app was additive and gave it a good start. The inside is spacious and clean. This was my first time eating Peruvian cuisine, so I can't speak to the authenticity, but if the number of Spanish speakers at the tables is any indication, it might be on the mark. The good: Beautiful interior, spacious, lots of light, nicely decorated and airy. I enjoyed all the food I tried, which was a seafood combo platter and plantain empanadas. The not-so-good: Slow service. Luckily I was killing time the day I visited because it took about ten minutes for my server to come out and take my order and another 30 minutes for the food to come out. I also found this place to be on the pricey side and I'm not entirely sure the portions justified the pricing. Also, the server spoke so softly had such a thick accent that I had a very difficult time communicating with her. I thought she said the juices on the tableside menu were complimentary (and I figured maybe that was why the prices were so high for the entrees) but surprise! $6 extra charge for the juice come time to pay the bill. I chose this restaurant based on the reviews I was craving Peruvian food bad and even tho there was a closer one we drove to this one. Walking in the decor was impressive and the layout of the tables and lighting were very nice. The one thing I did realize was the smell it smelled a bit funky. When she returned to bring the appetizers at that point I ordered an Inka cola soda And then we didn't see her again. After about 25 minutes that we finished out entre our food came out I reminded her of the soda and I let her know I no longer wanted it. She apologized and said "that was my bad". The service overall was very slow at this point there is one other table only. Now I don't mind waiting on food because that means it's fresh! But we even had to wait a while for my fiancé's water to get refilled. Lomo saltado (lunch special) $10.95 was pretty good the meat was tender the rice was fresh and the fries where perfectly cooked crispy on the outside. Con: for some off reason it was a bit sweet.. sweeter than it's supposed to be but I was so hungry I ate it anyway also The lunch portion was very generous so that was a plus. Leche de tigre (regular menu) $9.95 honesty do not order this . It's the worse leche de Tigre I have ever had and I've had ALOT! Presentation was beautiful that I can say taste was okay but once I kept eating it the consistency was just off it was almost like a purée and some pieces of fish were gooey. They do certain things Really well and other things are just fine. Their peruvian flavors leans on the sour side so their ceviche is not the same as your Mexican ceviche. If you order the full plate of ceviche, I recommend sharing so you don't get overpowered by the flavor. For instance, they have a bass ceviche which is raw fish and it's great for the first 5 bites before it's too much. For their happy hour, they have these shrimp on skewers (tradito camarone) that are delicious! Their beer selection is fine and I didn't love the pisco sour cocktail. Went here with family after being told it was probably best going somewhere else. When we were walked to our booth, my side was filthy with food on the booth seat. The waitress looked at me so offended when I asked her to clean it up before I would sit. That made me uncomfortable. Food was great and at check out I had to walk over to my new waitress that was sitting at the bar on her phone for our check after waiting around for a while. Not sure if they were ready for customers or what was going on. My boyfriend got me hooked on Peruvian cuisine a few years ago and we always look for a restaurant when we're traveling. We came to Pisco Sour for lunch today and it was an amazing experience! Such a clean restaurant with great service, but the best part is the food. The ceviche is one of the best I've had. I'd also recommend a Pisco Sour, it was my first time having one and I loved it.
