I just read a review calling the overall experience "weird" and I couldn't agree more! I've been excited to take my kids here thinking it would be a fun place to eat. It was all just so awkward. We walked in and it was awkwardly quiet besides a TV playing the news (definitely ruined the pirate vibe). The waiter seemed to have no experience with talking to people. The menu looked very corny. My husband and I went this past Monday. It was around lunch time. We were seated right away. There wasn't many people there. We ordered the potato skins which was good. He order soup and sandwich and I ordered the pirates peg legs. The soup was ok as was his club sandwich. The potato and sauce was good with mine but the chicken was a bit undercooked as the bone was still a bit pink. It was good but I can find this at most restaurants. I was expecting a more varied menu. Maybe we try the dinner next time and see how that fares. read more

This place has been only opened no more than 3 weeks and the food is so amazing. All of their items are fresh, nothing is frozen except the French fries. The breakfast was superb and the prime rib is to die for. The service was impeccable. Very clean and unique ambiance. read more

We visited Saturday afternoon the reception by the staff was very warm and welcoming. The decor was fun and staff were all dressed in pirate costumes which was really fun. We ordered oysters and Rockefeller oysters which were outstanding. I had a Bloody Mary which had bacon with all the dressing and was great. I wasn't sure what to prepare for as we entered this establishment, but was intrigued and amazed when we were greeted at the door by the pirate and seated at a dining table fit for a captains crew. I could see that several tables had been reserved for groups that attended shortly after we arrived. Food was absolutely delicious. Someone came and asked if we were enjoying our dining experience, so I asked who was responsible for coming up with this lavish atmosphere, and much to my amazement, we were actually talking with the owner. Was hoping to really enjoy this please, but it should probably just stop serving food! The decor is cool and intriguing for sure, but it doesn't take away from the poor level of food served. The Waffle cheeseburger is just overall sad, from the waffle that was cooked hours prior or the patty that was never once seen any seasoning other than the char marks from a dirt grill, also to add why ask the temp for the burger if it is only going to be overcooked anyway. The grated cheese is a good idea, melting it is a far better idea. The Patty Melt same, awfully cooked patty with no seasoning and soft old Texas toast. Swiss cheese again not melted and no sauce added. Pirates Paradise is up there with poorest of poor food, which will inevitably sink the ship! read more

Wow! If you haven't already tried Pirate's Paradise, you need to do yourself a favor and chart a course there on the next high tide. Here are 3 reasons why: First, it is a fun and unique place to eat for the whole family. The owner has spared no expense on the pirate themed decor, and they are still adding to the experience. Secondly, the food is outstanding! We have all had a meal in a kitschy restaurant that serves mediocre food, but that isn't the case here. The food we had was not only delicious but the portions were very generous. Lastly, the service was impeccable; the waitstaff were both very attentive and friendly. This was a disappointment. While the pirates decor is only novelty and unfortunately, novelty will wear off long before the idea that a repackaged Bennigan's menu will. I ordered the fried shrimp platter with country green beans and hush puppies. Yes, the hush puppies counted as a side. The shrimp were forged in cornmeal and fried, the hush puppies while crisp on the outside and cooked through, had no flavor. Hell the green beans was the highlight. I asked for both cocktail and tarter sause and both were watered down and horrible. The cocktail sauce resembled a loose ketchup and the tartar sauce was merely ranch dressing. My girlfriend ordered the Caesar salad and while the lettuce was fresh, the dressing was at best an imitation of Caesar salad dressing. We also ordered the bacon wrapped oysters appetizer and they were nothing to write home about. Our friend joined us and he ordered the Salmon cakes and to borrow a line from an old movie... "They would hurt your eyes looking for the salmon." He also had a refill on his drink that had his straw on it and when it was returned to the table..it was a different drink altogether so it left him sick to his stomach thinking he was drinking after someone else. So here's the rub for all you following along. My shrimp dinner with 2 sides and terrible sauces, the Caesar salad, and bacon wrapped oysters appetizer came to a total over $65 with a tip. So needless to say, they will not get any further business from the 3 of us and we will let everyone we know about the bad food on the menu here. The food was good, but the service was awful. Our food got cold while we waited 10 minutes for condiments for our meal. My son didn't get his salad dressing until the entire table was done eating. 15 minutes for a drink refill, and the restaurant wasn't even full. The owner did come by to make excuses and gave us 25% off, but when we went to tip on the handheld point of sale device, the owner built the 25% back in so that we tipped on the entire amount. Now I would have done that myself because that is the right thing to do, but the choice is the Customer's to make, not the owner's. The setting extremely nice, I mean pirates? Chimps DRINKING ALCOHOL?!? Sign me up! Also, the service. We waited only ten minutes for our food, and only stayed a total of thirty minutes there. It was so quick, and the staff was so nice. I ordered a burger and it came it potato wedges. The burger was decent and cooked as ordered. The potato wedges had a sweet smell as soon as she brought my plate... after trying one .. realized they coated them in cinnamon!! They were gross. The girlfriend ordered oysters on a halfshell... usually you use crackers to dress them when you eat.. they didn't have any so brought out Melba toast.. lol.... she ate one oyster and found they weren't cleaned properly and was like chewing on rocks.
