I reached out to Pipe It Up for a drain clog that kept happening in our guest bedroom. Initially, they were very responsive and got me scheduled quickly, though did not provide a quote or range ahead of time. We scheduled a 4-6p window on a Friday. Friday comes around, and it is 5:45p and I haven't heard from them at all. I give the phone number a call, and ask them if they have an ETA. The owner (or whoever I talked to) puts me on hold several times, asked for my name multiple times as if forgetting, and then finally told me someone would be there at 6:30p. No explanation, no apology, nothing. Whatever. Someone does show up at 6:30p, and when I answer the door, it's just a man in a sweatshirt, no sign that he's the plumber. I ask what I can do for him, and he just starts coming in. I ask who he is and says "Plumber". Great. He comes in with dirty boots, stops, says he needs to move his van, and leaves again. This was confusing as we live in a house with an empty driveway and loads of street parking outside. He pulls the van into the driveway, but doesn't leave the van or come back in for 15-20 min, and shows up with a dirty tarp and a clearly recently used drain auger device. He stomps into the bathroom I point out, then goes to work for 15 min, and comes to get me to show it's cleared. Drains work great now. Then he says they'll send an invoice, does not quote me again, and leaves. I don't get an invoice for two days, and the day they email it to me, they list it as "OVERDUE", re-send it multiple times, and begin calling me 1-2x a day until it is paid (which I did by end of week). Overall: the quality of the work seemed to be good, and the drains are clear. They charged $200, and from what I can tell online, seems to be reasonable for clearing the sink and tub in the same bathroom. That being said, it was a shockingly unprofessional process every step of the way, from clearly forgetting the appointment and not apologizing, to never quoting an estimate for the work, to disappearing for 20min for an unknown reason, to harassing me afterwards daily for a price they never gave me or explained prior. I would give them 1 star if the drains still didn't work. They technically did plumbing work that seemed to have fixed my problem, but literally every other step of the way was a shocking unpolished and unprofessional. I'm not asking for starched uniforms, shiny trucks, digital quotes or all that jazz -- just common courtesy and a modicum of politeness. read more

The owner Rashad Gordon has chosen to be untrustworthy business owner who hired an incompetent tech. He lied and said he fixed the problem. A few hours later, we had four inches of water in our basement. He chose not to handle this matter out of court, and chose not to appear in court, He lied to the judge for six months saying he was looking for an attorney. Instead he showed his cowardness by not showing up to court.I motioned for the Judge not to give him an extension because he's dishonest. He did it anyway, of course Rashad did not show up. Did I mention he owes thousands of dollars? Based on the legal system, he could be subpoenaed to appear in court to provide his liability insurance to the courts. A no show this time, there will be a bench warrant. I can put a mechanic's lien on his business. I can also go on every platform to tell consumer's to be very careful dealing with this company. I don't deal with dishonest companies who runaway from their responsibilities as a business owner. SHAME on you Rashad GORDON! Not only did they come out side of window provided. The tech did as little as possible to investigate the source of the leak. He basically took a guess, said "that is your problem", blaming the pool of accumulated water on a wine frig. The lack of effort didn't stop them for charging me. I have hired Pipe it Up twice to do work on my home. The first job was a replacing my water heater which is situated very awkwardly between the crawl space and first level of our home. Luther came over with two extra guys to make sure they had enough muscle to get the job done. They were respectful and got the job done in a timely fashion. I would not use this company again if the work was free. We initially called to have a leak repaired near our water main. It is now a month and a half later, we have had 2 techs come out and it is still incorrect--the sprinkler valve is backwards. We called on Saturday and were told someone would be out today (Tuesday). As it it now well past the appointment window, we called the office again. Apparently they have no record of an appointment for us. This has happened multiple times now. I am a Realtor who sometimes needs to make referrals to clients for inspection needs. My client needed a sewer scope for an inspection request quickly. Pipe It Up met that need, however my client ordered a DVD of the scope as there was a low spot in the line. The techs did not have the DVD machine, then they went to get one, it did not work and they promised to come back and rescope.
