Unfortunately the service is lacking never fails when I bring in friends who owned restaurants. The vibe is off. Between 4.00 and 5.00 the bartender s try to take orders at the tables until the server shows up at 5 ish asked for a separate bill they screwed it up, manager out of site hopefully it will get betterp.s servers have no personality needs work

Came here for a work event and got to try a variety of food along with the bowling alley! It was so much fun! It was a bit confusing to find the bowling lanes as they are located on the second floor. The bowling lanes were so fun though! The pins took a bit to set up after each round but our experience was a lot of fun. The food was also delicious and my favorite were the sliders. I would come back!

Happy hour

Located outside the Hillsdale Mall. We dropped in for the Happy hour (Mon-Fri 3-6) on a Tuesday around 5:45pm. It wasn't that busy. Plenty of spots open at the bar. The Pinot Grigio from Canyon Road was really good. It's quite hard to find a flavorful Pinot Grigio. The Chardonnay was decent too. The reds like Cabernet and Pinot noir were too light. There were like 5 beers on tap. We tried the Drakes Juicy Hoot hazy ipa. It was eh. Not many beer options that we like. Didn't get to try any cocktails and appetizers on the happy hour. The appetizers didn't sound that great for us. So we ordered the crispy calamari to snack on. Light batter and meaty. Very yummy. Parking is free in the garage.

Made reservations online. Found the closest mall parking garage to the restaurant. Came for first brunch seating on a Sunday. It was nice and quiet initially. They had customizable omelet station , waffle station , carving station with prime rib , salmon lox , shrimp cocktail , pizza , eggs, sausage , chicken apple sausage , salad , fries and chicken tenders , ciopinno, pasta, cheesecake , rice krispy , chocolate fondue station. It was a big area, very family friendly. Lot of kids around. My toddlers meal was free. Adults $38 per person. I also saw they even have private parties upstairs which is neat. It's located in the Hillsdale mall so there are alot of restaurants and you can walk in the mall after the heavy meal.

Came here for a birthday party and the brunch buffet a few weeks ago and I gotta say, I enjoyed myself. The food was really good and I've always wanted to try prime rib, even more so when it's all you can eat. I was here during the holiday season so this place was decked out in the festive decor and Santa taking pictures with customers which was cool. I would absolutely come back here again on my own or with family just to eat. If I wanted to complain about something, I didn't think the desserts were that great. But y'know, it's whatever. I'm not a huge dessert guy anyway. There was a chocolate fountain though and I always think those are cool. But stick with the savory stuff for the most part. Side note, there used to be a Pinstripes in Walnut Creek that closed a few months ago. It didn't even last a year and I was disappointed that I never got to go. This was my first Pinstripes experience and I do hope they can make a comeback in Walnut Creek or elsewhere in the East Bay. I'm not keen on traveling all the way to Hillsdale Mall, even for this.

We hosted a private event at Pinstripes and were blown away from start to finish. It was my first time playing bocce ball, and it ended up being an absolute hit with everyone...easy to learn, super fun, and a great activity for groups. Rules posted on the wall. They were also incredibly accommodating, even handling same-day additions to our food order list without any added hassle. Our semi-private space was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly situated within their beautiful two-story venue. The whole place was decorated for the holidays, and the added bonus of a live DJ made the atmosphere even more energetic and festive. Huge shoutout to Gabe and his team!!! Truly a pleasure, they were stellar all night, attentive, friendly, and always a step ahead. And Alyson, our event coordinator, deserves special recognition. She's truly top-notch: organized, responsive, and an absolute pro at making everything run smoothly. I do wish there was just a few more items to select from on appetizers and for variety for our vegetarians. Particularly around the holidays but still all around great experience and people. If you're looking for a fun, polished venue with great service for any group event, Pinstripes is a winner. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant with banquet rooms, a lounge/bar, and a fun bowling alley of course. Pretty chic ams trendy. Very clean. Food wasn't spectacular but good for a bowling alley. Service was solid overall. p.s. looks like they had a Sunday brunch going on downstairs in the main restaurant. May come back to try it.

This review is for the weekend brunch buffet. I love me a buffet! We went in Sept for my bday. There was a carving station, a lox and bagel station, healthy options, and omelette station, chicken and waffle station, chocolate fountain, and pizza. So many options! See my video! The chilaquiles station made a massive plate. If you're like me and want to try everything ask them for a 1/4 size serving. Everything was fresh and delicious since we went right when they opened. Best part my 10 year was free on Sunday! The location is right by where they have the huge Christmas during the holidays and the kids love to run around the fake grass outside and play on the rocks. Be aware there is a street with cars nearby, the grass area is NOT fence in if you have little ones that run off. There is outdoor seating if you want to sit outside and watch the kids play.

Pinstripes is in a beautiful bustling location right next to San Mateo hillsdale mall. There is an ample amount of parking spaces right behind the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a two story structure downstairs you have the formal and causal indoor and outdoor seating. Upstairs you have a full bowling alley where you can order from the menu while you play. This place serves your typical burgers , pizza etc but also has some more unique options. I truly enjoy there happy hour menu they have great food options here to choose from. They get busy so service is a hit or miss but most of my experiences have gone well.

Super Salad

I can't believe I haven't written this review yet -- I've been to Pinstripe at least a dozen times, especially on Tuesdays (that buy-one-get-one entrée deal is chef's kiss). Our absolute favorite is the Superfood Salad -- the combo of kale, figs, and Humboldt Fog goat cheese is just perfect. Easily one of my all-time favorite salads anywhere. The pizza is always on-point too -- crispy, flavorful, and consistently good. We've tried the other entrées, and they're fine, but honestly, we've found our rhythm with the salad and pizza combo. It's our go-to order every single time. Such a nice, relaxed spot to wind down after a long day at work -- great food, chill vibes, and a place that just never disappoints

Maple Glazed Salmon, Spaghetti & Meatballs
Tessa V.

Lovely date night spot! Came around 6pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They have a happy hour menu with drinks and a limited food selection, but we didn't order off of it. I ordered the Maple Glazed Salmon and my partner had the Spaghetti and Meatballs. Everything was delicious! The salmon dish was definitely the standout for me - salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and we loved the seasoned vegetables and mediterranean grains on the side. Service was exceptional. We wanted to change our table after ordering due to the draft coming from the open door and they kindly accommodated us. Staff also checked up on us maybe 5 different times - they're very attentive haha. Menu does feel a bit limited, and I would consider prices on the slightly higher end - but had a lovely experience here and would come again.

Iced Tea, Coffee, Decaf, and soft drinks! Let me know if you have any other questions!

We are making reservations online for Saturday brunch and have 14 people. It shows only the bar area is available. Are kids allowed in that area?

They have tables in close proximity of the bar area. The kids just can't sit at the bar itself. I'd also call, the staff is pretty helpful. But book it before it's gone.

How hard is to put basic pricing on your website?

Good question. I don't know.

What's the current price for Sunday Brunch and how much to add bottomless mimosas?

$38 per person and $28 per person additional for mimosa.

Can I opt out the Weekend Brunch buffet, order A la Carte instead?

We do have a limited gaming menu that is offered when playing bowling or bocce. In our dining areas, only the brunch buffet is available. At 2:30pm, the dinner menu does open up to order a la carte!

Do you still serve the Buffett brunch on Saturday in San Mateo? I saw a review here that said it's only on Sunday and I wanted to double check first?

Our latest offerings now has brunch buffet on both Saturday and Sunday.

No. My birthday isn't in January.

Dogs are welcomed on the patio

Why is it that I am only able to get brunch on the weekends?

Nothing unusual about a place having brunch on weekends. Pretty common.

Thankfully, we were still seated within about 15 minutes. I really enjoyed the Tom Yum Scramble served inside a croissant. The croissant itself was a bit disappointing, slightly stale and reminiscent of a Costco croissant but the tom yum scramble was absolutely delicious and flavorful enough to make up for it. The Thai Tea French Toast was nicely balanced and not overly sweet, though I would've liked a bit more texture and crunch. As for the drinks, I'd probably skip them next time. Both the ube latte and matcha latte tasted a little artificial, and I've definitely had better versions at other brunch spots. Overall, I enjoyed the food and appreciated how attentive the service was.

All in all there were a couple main issues: reservations and special requests that were made for group dining several weeks before hand and confirmed were not honored and , several dishes were "just alright," and the kitchen had "lost" several tickets so items were not delivered and had to be reordered. As we sampled multiple of the Entrees, the only star of the evening was the Mezzi Rigatoni which did make the rounds of the table for everyone to try. This was juxtaposed to other dishes that should have been standout, such as the duck breast or pappardelle to be lackluster in comparison. Dessert was the same, with only the Bombolini a winner. The Tiramisu and Panna Cotta came in at the 5/10 and neither lived up to their name and would be better enjoyed if you were not predisposed to expecting a specific dessert. The Chocolate Trifle was a complete miss. I can see what the aim was but the foam did not work. With that all being said, the seating was aesthetic and the cocktails and wine that were offered were quite good- kudos to the bartender

The inside has no noise absorption so any loud group (as would be expected at a tavern) leads to extremely unpleasant loud environment for dinner. Though the food was slow to come out because it was coursed, the service was very polished and high attention to detail (asking if we wanted larger share plates between appetizers vs entrees, pacing the courses). The waiter was clearly very experienced and service quality felt more like fine dining rather than a tavern so it was just a strange environment where it was super loud like a dive bar but nicely decorated with excellent service like a fine bistro. There is mid size outside patio with space heaters and is dog friendly. It is part of the parking lot so not the most pretty but nice to have an outside option. The food was pretty good and beautifully presented. The menu reflects the same dichotomy where there's "bar food" like fish and chips but it is also unexpectedly elevated. My favorite item was the ceviche. Note closing time is quite early for a tavern - it closes at 9pm and last call for food is 830p. Bottom line - food and service were excellent but I can't see myself returning because of the extremely unpleasant noise. It's likely a good place for large groups cause it's so loud.
