I'm giving two because of the food. I like the wide variety and options. The seating arrangement was a a bad experience for me. I made a reservation 2 months in advanced and chose dining, not outside, not upstairs. When I checked in for my reservation at 12:45pm I was told our table was being set up..outside. I asked why not inside and I was told that they were booked with back to back reservations and the tables inside were being set up for another reservation. I asked why we weren't seated inside when my time was up and the answer was maybe you booked it for outside. I said no and tried to show my phone but the hostess didn't even bother looking at it. Then she said the system might've put your spot outside especially if it was made after another reservation even though the time was later. I was shocked, never heard of that before, but ok. Our only option was upstairs or we would have to wait another 2 hours. I mentioned we had young kids but I had no other choice. I was not expecting to sit upstairs but it was better than outside since it was pretty warm. Eating upstairs was ok. It def took away the buffet experience as we had to go up and down either by elevators with the servers or the stairs. I only went down twice since it felt like a hassle. Unfortunately the weekend all-you-can-eat buffet isn't worth it for our family, so we try to sneak in a visit when we can on the weekdays. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a girls' day. My friend put our names on a list earlier that day, and I was waiting for them to reply when an available spot would be open, but since it was getting late, we decided to just do a walk-in. Upon arrival, we found out the entire place was booked! I wish there was a way for us to be informed earlier. I've shopped at this mall before, and I've seen Pinstripes from the outside, but was never sure of what it actually was on the inside. I was surprised to know there was bocce ball and bowling! Well, the name makes sense, but when you walk in, if feels like a bit more upscale Yard House restaurant than a play area. I didn't even get to see the bowling alleys because they were upstairs and hidden away. When I walked up to use the restroom, it was full of graduation parties and other celebrations. Everyone dressed really nice. We decided to just eat dinner here. The service was great. I liked that they asked us if we wanted the food to come out all at once or one by one with the appetizers first. We wanted it to come all at once, and we shared it family style between 4 people. We got the... Chicken and goat cheese pasta: This was delicious but there were like 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Sad. Wish we had more bang for our buck here. Margherita pizza: Tasted good although salty. I wondered if it was the cheese. When my cheese fell off, I tried it alone. Turns out, the tomato sauce on this was overly salted. I dipped the crust in the ranch that came with our apps. Calamari: Nice breading, crispy, and had a decent portion. I like when calamari is thin and breaded. Truffle fries: Crispy and tasty when it was fresh. I liked that it wasn't too greasy nor doused in truffle oil. For the drinks, we got the puccinis and the Tuscan sangrias. They weren't particularly strong but they were refreshing! The servers gave great recommendations. I'd love to come back for mimosas and/or happy hour. Went in for Father's Day brunch and it did not disappoint! We had reservations so we were seated quick. They have 2 areas, upstairs and downstairs. Both areas carry the same options. Once we got settled, I helped the kids make their selections and grab their food. A little overwhelming for them and the hot food was a bit hard for them to open and grab food but they enjoyed it. Their favorite part of course was the chocolate fountain. I think they made 2-3 trips dipping whatever they could. They had a good time. I had a little bit of everything that I could. I didn't want to potentially waste food so I avoided food that I would normally eat. I went for the prime rib, cut in front of you, and it was delicious. I also had an egg white omelet made just for me - not the best but it wasn't bad. The risotto was sticky and very thick, I'd probably skip that next time. The parfait was delicious - it was the granola and honey for me. I will definitely have to plan better if we decide to go back. There was so many options and I wasn't prepared for it. I've visited Pinstripes several times but this was my first time to their Brunch Buffet. For $34.99 you can have made-to-order omelet bar with lots of meat and veggie and cheese choices, prime rib and ham freshly carved, hot foods like bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, balsamic brussel sprouts, Parmesan risotto, oven-roasted potatoes and Neapolitan style pizza. For pickier little ones, chicken fingers, Mac and cheese, fruit and yogurt parfaits. There's also a mini waffle station with great toppings like lemon ricotta, whipped cream, Nutella, chocolate or caramel sauce, and warm maple syrup. Or if you prefer toasted bagel with salmon and all the fixings. Shrimp cocktail, several types of salads. And biscuits and gravy. And to finish it all off a chocolate fountain with lots of goodies to dip. There is something for everyone. We also added mimosas which come in orange, grapefruit, cranberry & pineapple . In 2025 Pinstripes has given us a ton of free brunch coupons. We were there last Saturday and used 2 free brunch coupons. Today we attempted to use another two coupons but they told us we can only use one. No where on the coupon does it state only one can be used per table and we never had an issue in the past. We still have about 20 coupons that were given to us that we will not use as they expire in 2025. That's how often we went there. We did not ask for the coupons, they just kept giving them to us. With the new management rules for the coupons will change to suit their needs. Just keep that in mind. Many of the other Pinstripes have closed and this will probably close too as they don't know how to treat customers. read more

Service was absolutely horrible from start to finish. Not the service that we would expect from these prices...it was a if we were an inconvenience to the staff and that was a huge let down. Even with a reservation we were left off of the birthday and events board when we walked in. We weren't walked to our lane so when we got upstairs it was mass confusion and we were asked why we walked up or what we were doing here...even with a receipt in hand. We were taken to a dirty lane and had to wait for them to clean it up (well into our paid reservation time) No explanations of anything even though we said it was our first time. No waitstaff to take drink orders so we had to go find them. $120 per hour for a lane of bowling...of course you are going to be happy and cheer on your friends as they bowl and have a good time, the staff came over a few times to tell us we were loud...umm what? Not the service that I would expect to have on my birthday outting...none the less we had fun but this experience was a huge let down. read more

I have been here multiple times for bowling with my family and company events on a larger scale. This location is great and can accommodate small or large groups. If you are going there for bowling, I would highly recommending making a reservation online for your lane. Checking in was fast, the cost of shoes is included in your rental and you can order food and drinks from their menu to come directly to your lane. We bowled for 2 hours and had a great time. Their bowling system is easy to work and they have a cute little feature of using the picture you took for your profile to be used in the animations as you bowl a strike, spare, or miss. The interactive part was entertaining for my son. For dinner alone, their menu is pretty big and they have an option for almost everyone on their menu. The staff has always been friendly and now my kid has come to love coming here because of the fun he has. Would definitely recommend for a group outing for both kids and adults. The up stairs area were more quiet but you have to lug your food up a flight of stairs. The food variety and quantity were good but maybe not worth full price of $38 pp. There are long times at omelet and waffle stations. Be prepared to wait for your food. The meats offered are good. Be aware not all drinks are covered in buffet cost. For example they charged more for latte, check before ordering. Overall ambiance is good, and a nice buffet for parties and events. read more

It's difficult to rate this place because it's both a bowling alley as well as a restaurant (located on the first level). Pros: Easy to find, cool, classy atmosphere, and I liked the dinner options. There were plenty of meat and vegetarian dishes depending on one's preference and my French dip was tasty. If you come in a large group, you can make a reservation and the tables are large. Cons: Bowling here was super expensive. I think we paid $60 per person for two hours (including shoe rental) and I didn't think there were any special amenities that warranted the price. The lanes were also very crowded and lots of noise and commotion everywhere (like any bowling alley I suppose), so I'm not sure I could differentiate this fancier location from a plain ol' bowling alley. I would come for the food if you want American-style dining in a large group but skip the bowling. We hosted an event at Pinstripes last night, and Liz absolutely crushed it! From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Super friendly, incredibly helpful, and just a joy to coordinate on site with. She made fantastic suggestions- including the chicken parm, which was literally to die for- and even picked out some amazing bottles of wine for our group. She also mixed up a great round of shots that got the fun going in the best way. Her attention to detail and warm, welcoming vibe made the whole night even more special. This event is a repeat summer event so we'll definitely be coming back- and you can bet I'll be requesting Liz again. She's a total gem! read more

First time here. I like their Signature Chop Salad. Very light dressing and big portion. I ordered the Filet Mignon Trio. The glaze was a bit too sweet for me, and the Brussels Sprouts were a big over cooked (burnt) ti my taste. I didn't try the Super Salad or the Maple Glazed Salmon, but the salmon did look very delicious. Overall, the pricing and the portion are very reasonable. Parking is easy since it's located inside the shopping mall. Didn't get to try their drinks tonight. Will have to come back and try it. It's a nice place to hang out with friends. Worst bowling experience ever. If they do any kind of maintenance, it's woefully insufficient. This is my second time here and i already can't get any kind of rhythm because their shoes are all sticky and i'm accustomed to EVERY OTHER BOWLING ALLEY where the shoes have some slide. Last time i was here we had constant malfunctions with the lane and then i got an infection from the filthy finger holes. I will be looking hard for another place before my girl gets the itch to bowl again. read more

Very disappointing customer service - Santa Brunch We have been coming to Pinstripes for their Santa Brunch every year as a family tradition since my son was very young. Unfortunately, over time we've noticed that the level of service has steadily declined from when this location first opened, and this recent experience confirmed that. When I made the reservation online, I later realized it had been booked for 2 people instead of 4. I tried to correct it through the "Manage Reservation" option but was unable to make any changes. I then called to see if the issue could be fixed. I spoke with Frank, the manager and asked whether it would be possible to add two chairs to our table so our family could sit together. He refused outright, without any effort to explore alternatives or show empathy. I explained that this would be very upsetting for my child and mentioned that we have been loyal customers for years. That did not seem to matter. I understand capacity limits, but good service and good management means trying to help and valuing repeat customers, especially for a family-centered holiday event. Unfortunately, the lack of flexibility and care was disappointing and reflects the broader decline in service we've experienced over the years. This experience has cost them a loyal customer and I will be sharing it with family and friends so they can make informed choices about where to dine. read more

Not a great experience on a Saturday night. Came here to celebrate my grandson's 4th birthday. Had a reservation at 630PM for a party of 13. We arrived on time and still had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. When we were shown to our table it was 3 tables together, and a gap between the other 3 tables. I don't know why all 6 tables couldn't be together. At this time the sun was setting but through out our dining experience the lighting was so dim I could hardly see my food. The service: I fully expect this place to be busy since it was a Saturday night and our server started out great, greeting us and taking our drink orders. When so many of us ordered Shirley Temples he brought out two pitchers of them. One for each 3 table. From there it was downhill. The waiter seemed to spend more time with another large table sitting behind us. Checked on us once. Plain simple, something I could make at home. I wouldn't order this dish again. They did however bring out two desserts for the birthday boy who had a great time. The best thing that went well was our server, Bobby! It's Good Friday. People are off from work. We arrived at 4 for bowling(always fun) and noticed he was our server and the bartender. Almost solo for the whole hour, except for the people bringing out the food. He didn't miss a beat. There were 10 adults, two children and two babies. We moved onto our 5pm bocce courts. Bobby finally got some help behind the bar. All our food arrived in a timely manner. We asked for the check. We found out that another customers items mistakenly had items on our bill. That was discovered by Bobby and he explained it to me and then brought our final bill. This is what a manager does. He's not a manager. Well done, Bobby! All around great server and person! My family and I visited Pinstripes on a busy Saturday and asked the host if they could accommodate our party of eight. The restaurant was busy hosting private parties and events, so we weren't sure if they had room. Fortunately, the General Manager, Pablo, was there and went out of his way to set up a table for us upstairs. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was absolutely delicious. I have a severe gluten intolerance, and I truly appreciated how attentive and accommodating both the chef and staff were in ensuring my meal was safe. We were celebrating a birthday, and Pablo made the experience even more special by surprising our group with festive St. Patrick's Day/Birthday drinks. My first visit since 2019. I came for Sunday brunch with my family. **Brunch reservations are separated into 2 classes for lack of a better word. I made a reservation on OpenTable and was surprised to find out that my party would be seated outside of the main dining area, in the corner behind the bar. If you wish to dine in the main area, you need to make your reservation directly with Pinstripes. Ultimately my experience wasn't affected and we received great service. Just a note in case you have a seating preference. One of the highlights was the Brussels sprouts which I remember being tasty from the last visit. If you want to make use of the chocolate fountain, I'd suggest hitting it early before the inevitable crowd of kids descends. Overall a very solid buffet. DO NOT BOOK A PRVATE EVENT WITH THIS COMPANY! We had a Celebration booked with the Walnut Creek Location several months in advance. They required more than half of the cost of the event scheduled (that was over $2,000). We heard thru the news that the company was filing Chapter 11 and closing locations, including the location we had scheduled our event without notifying us. The company did not call and offer an expiation or refund. And this was only 1 month before the event. We had needed to find a new location as we had paid for professional printed invitations, hired a professional Photographer and had family flying in for the event. And then again we had put up an additional deposit to secure a different venue. The San Mateo location did reach out to us via email after a few days of finding out about the closure of the Walnut Creek location and mentioned they were holding our deposit and could have our event at their location. When we replied that we would like to go forward with the event, they informed that the location was not available at that time, and were informed to contact corporate. After trying to call the company and filling the out paperwork, we have never heard back from them. We put in a dispute with the credit card and got a response that we were not eligible for refund because "the cancellation policy was not followed". What a shame!!! read more

I'll start out by saying everyone likes a good buffet. What makes a good one, IMO, is a variety of at least decent tasting food. And at a reasonable price. I understand buffets went out the window during COVID, so to see one at Pinstripes on the weekend was welcome. We came in without reservations, heard good things, and decided to drop in on a Sunday, we were seated right away. With a few directions we were on our way to some good eats. Or so we thought. I went to the omelet bar, ordered a veggie omelet with jalapeños and cheddar, and was impressed with the taste-soft, filled with veggies, robust. On my way back to the table I got some breakfast pasta, a concoction with sausage and pasta in sauce. Not as impressed with the pasta-sausage was cut on the bias but didn't know what kind of sausage it wanted to be, definitely not Italian. And the pasta seemed more undercooked than al dente. I also got a small slice of prime rib, their signature entree of the buffet; it was chewy-was it cooked wrong? No, it came medium rare. Bad cut of beef? Maybe. The real culprit was that the slice wasn't cut cross grain, but with the grain, a no-no especially for an expensive cut of beef like prime rib. It kinda went downhill from there. Their caprese salad seemed to use cheap cheese-very firm and had an eraser-like texture. They serve three types of pizza-cheese, breakfast ( with breakfast-type ingredients though the most obvious was scrambled egg), and veggie, had a bite of breakfast pizza from my eating partner and wasn't impressed. There was a goat cheese pasta next to the breakfast pasta that looked like pale Mac and cheese (which they also had). I wasn't ready for dessert so I tried their smoked salmon, and the shrimp and cocktail sauce. Disappointed that neither was kept chilled with ice like in other buffets, made me at least consider getting sick from left-out seafood but the shrimp were fully boiled (albeit frozen as shells were hard to peel off but commercially deveined) and the salmon was smoked. If you like lukewarm seafood it was OK. Perusing the buffet I noticed a lot of carbs- three different types of pastas, 3 pizzas, garlic bread ; chicken and waffles ( I'd get the waffles and get the chicken from the chicken and fries bar, they're crunchier); donut holes and accompanying sweet sauces, Nutella, I think were intended for chixand waffles; chocolate fountain and marshmallows; rice crispies, brownies, chocolate chip cookies. A couple of salads, fruit cups (at least they're an alternative) were there; and yogurt with granola topping that tasted like old granola( soft, with no crunchy components) on thick paste (thickest yogurt I've had in quite a while-dense, no little yogurt tang, tasteless with the best part a couple strawberry slices as garnish. I understand it's a buffet, food turnover is high and quick to meet customers' demands. At the same time, you're charging $38/person (close to $50 with tax/tip not including any alcohol you order from the bar), it's not unreasonable to ask for decent food served correctly (prime rib cut cross grain is a glaring example). Wait staff was ok, nothing to write home about. My test of whether a place is good or not is whether I'd come back. Looking at the imbalance of food choices (carbs), being served prime rib I had to fight to cut, chew and swallow; serving a child-centric menu of chicken nuggets, French fries, and pizza (basic all bowling alley snack food), chocolate fountain and the mess it left on adjacent food items; lackluster food (although not bland, just lacked distinct taste except omelets and bacon), I not sure if I'd return unless I had to. Don't get me wrong, the food isn't un-edible, but for what they charge, I'd look for better food worthy of what I'm paying. The only thing worth coming back for is the omelet and the fruit cup but I wouldn't pay almost $50 for that. It's mediocre food with a carb-leaning menu. I'd consider making the meal less kid friendly to appeal to more adults, fewer carbs ( unfortunately carbs are cheap food), fewer dishes with better quality choices to appeal to a broader audience. Pinstripes as a buffet feels like it appeals to families with 10 y.o. or younger, but most customers looked like older parents with teens. read more

I came in here with a couple of my friends on a Monday night around 7:00pm. The restaurant wasn't busy at all but the food we ordered all came at once. The appetizers did not come first. We ordered the truffle fries, chic wings, lobster pizza, gnocchi pasta, super salad l, and the bbq baby back ribs. The food was decent but the baby back ribs were kind of dried. The chic wings were basically just buffalo wings but they had to call it spicy chic wings. The truffle fries weren't fresh either, maybe it's been sitting waiting for the rest of the food? The waiter never came to refill any water and only came once when we were almost done to check if everything's ok. I came here for the first time for a high school graduation dinner this past summer. We were a table of 8 seated in the lower level of the restaurant and only came for lunch and did not participate in bocce ball or bowling. I'll admit that I went in with expectations of food similar to a Yard House. I walk by all the time on my way to Cinepolis and it always seems lively and the food looked good. I'd also heard they had live music during the summer on some nights as well so it was on my radar. Given the size of our party and it being lunchtime on a weekday, service was attentive and consistent. Food came out pretty quickly and the staff checked on us a few times throughout the meal. We entered and told the hostesses, who from the very beginning were not very friendly, we had reservation. . We've come before and this is the second instance where I find the hostesses to be seriously lacking in hospitality. We were taken to our table quickly. When we got there we were given a table in the middle. We had two small children with us so I asked if there was anyway we could get a booth since there was one right in front of us. Hostess said no that was reserved for party of 6 and the other large section of booths that were all empty was reserved for a large party. I said okay. As she left another party in a booth left so I asked our server maya if we could get that table she said she thought that would be fine but would check with hostess. Came back and said it was reserved for large party. Okay fair enough. Time passes no one sits in either spot. Meanwhile Im wrestling with my toddler to stay in his high chair. Then a couple of two comes and they try and sit them at a table next to us in the middle they ask for the booth and another hostess says sure and seats them there. At this point I'm annoyed. Raul, the manager in training comes around asking if everything is fine and I explain how I'm a little annoyed because I had asked for two different booths and one is still empty and the other a couple of two was sat when I was told it was reserved for table of 6. He and our waitress were both very nice. He was very apologetic and very nice gave my kids some small toys which made their night and also offered to comp our dessert. Because of him and our waitress who I believe was named maya we might still come back. The hostesses however need more training on how to be more welcoming and accommodating because that is literally their job, especially since I would say a large portion of their clientele are families.
