2 stars purely for potential. You can't go in...the volume of the music will drive you crazy. You can't play pinball, watch TV, or enjoy the arcade games because of the volume of the music (and bad lighting, in the case of the pinballs). In the one spot with a good TV, they mounted it 2 ft too high. And you can't watch sports or hold a conversation across the 3 couches...because of the volume of the music. If you're wearing earmuffs, you still have to leave if you're hungry; they couldn't get a pretzel or chips license. read more

I've been to Pins in Columbus, but not this location. We got a duck pin bowling lane right away, no waiting! It was the most fun of the night. The free arcade games don't really interest me and the Skee Ball was busy. The pinball machines all cost $1. The drinks were good. We tried Hookie (a rubber ring toss) and it is more difficult than it looks. It is a fun time to spend an hour or two. I visited Pins Mechanical Company for the first time in the Ohio City neighbourhood of Cleveland on west 25th street in November 2023 with my friend Lesly after we had dinner at a restaurant nearby. We had a ton of fun playing some arcade games. It's a big establishment and I visited on a Saturday evening so it was packed with people. I like crowds so this didn't affect me. There is a huge TV on the main floor with comfortable chairs/couches. I enjoyed catching a glimpse of a basketball game while there. GAMES -- There are numerous arcade games that are FREE to play in the lower-level (downstairs) and there are also games that cost money. I enjoyed playing Pacman which is a maze game. I noticed a ping-pong table on the first floor right by the entrance but there were people playing and I couldn't wait that long for them to finish playing. At one point, two people joined us to play the giant Jenga game which was fun. DRINKS -- I don't drink alcohol but my friend ordered a cocktail which she enjoyed (I forgot the type of drink). I got a non-alcoholic cocktail (virgin drink) but I forgot what kind. I remember that it was a sweet drink. The bartender Tyler and a woman were helpful and friendly. I will certainly be back with friends. We returned to Pins on a Friday evening, and it was considerably more crowded. We put in our names to play duck pin bowling and were texted about 15 minutes later that our lane was ready. I do get a kick out of these cute little lanes with the cute little balls and cute little pins. The resetting process is oh so cute as well. It's huge and the vibes make you reminiscence on your childhood with pinball machines, big connect four games, skeeball, giant jenga, cute aesthetically pleasing light up signs and ore. There are multiple floors and is a great time/place to go after eating at a nearby restaurant. My husband and I had an enjoyable time with another couple doing duckpin bowling. We love this type of bowling compared to regular bowling since I have back problems. They don't offer food, however, they do have a drink menu. My husband liked their beer list, however, I wasn't a huge fan. I really like different types of Belgian quads and tripels which they didn't carry. I also like various dessert stouts which they also didn't carry. The service was just okay as they were really packed. We've come here at various times of day, and they've always been packed. That said, we often can't play most of the games with the exception of the duckpin bowling, which usually has a wait time too. I had the BEST time at Pins Mechanical last Saturday as a group of us celebrated a friend's birthday! Can you believe this was my first time at any of the Pins Mechanical? Well, it was and boy, was I impressed! The space is massive, which is good because it stays BUSY! I was there for over 4 hours and the fun never died down. Most of the activities are absolutely free and there's a ton of arcade machines to choose from. Our party hung out for a few hours while we waited for our reservation for two bowling lanes. The place was busy, sure, but never so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Bowling was fun as well. I was terrible at it, naturally, but this isn't the type of place bowling professionals visit. I'm notoriously cheap when it comes to paying for drinks but didn't feel like the prices were too bad here. I got a $5 non-alcoholic slushie as well as a $12 "Carrie Fisher" - a rum, coconut drink with a large stick of rock candy on top. Can you tell I like sugar? Haha! I'll be visiting the Pins Mechanical in Columbus soon and that location has pinball machines! I can't wait! read more

We're visiting Cleveland from California and we're blown away at the awesome bar service received from Lorenzo and Show(hopefully I spelled that right) they represented this establishment in the best way possible. Kids welcome during the afternoon, but 21+ only after 8 PM (yes, they do card). Expect light crowds and easy parking prior to the dinner rush, but once evening hits people have arrived in force since opening day. There is no food for sale at Pins, but you are welcome to bring your own in. The hosts at the front are some of the most lovely people you'll ever meet. For newcomers, you'll get a quick run-down: 1st floor has a full bar, The Cage (where you'll sign up for duckpin bowling and bocce courts), the bocce court, free arcade games courtesy of 16-Bit behind the first floor bar, and scattered free games like giant Connect 4, giant Jenga, and ring hook. Basement floor has yet another full bar, duckpin bowling, and pinball machines and other games that you'll need quarters for. Use the ATM on site and convert to coins at the next machine! Tables and chairs abound aplenty to lounge with your crew while you wait for games. Stairs are the easiest way to get between floors, but I didn't see an obvious elevator for those who may be handicapped. The bar is chaotic as with any busy place, where they'll have a rotating lineup of local and staple beers on tap. Specialty cocktails are also available, as are mocktails. All of the staff we interacted with were really warm and personable. For a fun conversation, ask any of the crew members about their uniform and they'll explain that the name on their shirt is not actually personalized - they could be Rita one day and Clyde the next. Games are actually quite affordable, your only limitation will be that on busy nights you can only sign up for one game at a time. However, that means the wait is usually only about 30 min. Up to 4 bowlers are allowed at a time at a lane, and no need to rent out questionably cleaned shoes. They'll send you a text when your lane is ready so feel free to meander inside or get a snack while you wait! It's far too dark and makes a person sleepy which isn't a good combo if you're driving home. Tip they recently added a claw machine upstairs. I'm pretty good at those and this one is a rip off. I have been to the Pins in Columbus and my family was looking forward to having some fun but the evening turned out to be anything but fun. Many of the video games were broken and it was an hour's wait for duck pin bowling. We made the most of our wait, but even that was awful because it took forever to get a drink from the bar. When we were paged for duck pin bowling, it turned out they made a mistake and put us down for the bocce court reservation, even though when booking it my wife asked how many can play duckpin bowling and was told eight (we had 12 people with us). Again, we made the most of the bocce court while we waited for duck pin bowling. After 35-40 minutes or so, we opted to leave as it wasn't much fun for eight people to watch four others roll a bocce ball. In a place that size, the service shouldn't suck, but it did. And after the mistake of booking us for bocce instead of duck pin bowling, you'd think they would have given us the next available lane, but alas, nearly 40 more minutes passed and we just left. What a great way to bring back the nostalgia of old school pin ball with an extra twist. This place is great to enjoy at any point with or without kids. Once you walk in, it's big and open so can be a bit overwhelming as I haven't been there once without it being packed which is good for business. Top floor offers reservations for bowling (located downstairs) with a horseshoe game, giant Jenga, soccer shots and lots of tables and areas for you and your party to enjoy multiple games. Downstairs is the bowling as I mentioned which has to be reserved at the main desk. It's a different type of bowling so it takes some getting used to but still fun. On the other side of the floor is a room of pinball machines which my family loves. They have the old school, get some change machine and each one takes a certain amount of quarters. So many to choose from so even if it's busy there is a good chance that you still can grab a machine. They also have a foosball table. Both floors have a bar area to order drinks, regular and alcohol and they have all been pretty good. Only downside is they don't serve any food but you're allowed to bring outside food. Regardless still a great time to be had and lots to do. Just scope out restaurants or pizza in the area to bring inside with you in case you get hungry. read more

What a great place for adults to bring their kids but still get drunk! Great atmosphere, lots of pinball machines, and duckpin lanes, perfect for little ones. It would be a decent place to have a birthday as well. My only concern is their lack of food, no kitchen whatsoever. It makes the surrounding restaurants up charge for their food, but I think people generally would be willing to spend money on food especially when they're drinking.
