Took some friends to Pins and Ales for dinner before bingo night, and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant and bar! I went home that night and tried to submit a "contact us" form online, but it only errored out, so I called and left a message for the manager to call me back. I never received a call from him. We ordered wings to start. I asked for 12 piece. My brother showed up right after I'd ordered, so I went to our server as she was typing it in to ask her to change it to an 18 piece. "Is it too late?" I asked. She said it wasn't. Shortly after, she came to our table to get the rest of our order. I had also given a card as requested to hold the tab. We ordered 2 reubens and a cheeseburger with fries. The reubens were to come with salad instead of fries. Later the wings came out, but we had no napkins, so I asked for some. It wouldn't be until we also had our meals before we would get napkins after asking a second time for some. When she came back we had to ask for silverware too. Then catsup for our fries. We had to ask and wait for literally everything. The reubens were not what we were expecting at all either! It was chunks of meat rather than sliced, and most of it was grizzle. I feel like I got to eat a little bit of sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on bread. Finally, I ordered dessert after our meal and when the gentleman brought it out, my brother asked to please bring some whipped cream as well. We eventually just gave up on the whipped cream because dessert was getting cold and no one had come back to check on us. Finally, I asked for our bill. I didn't get a bill, I got a credit card slip showing how much had been charged to the card. I asked for an itemized statement as well as if I could use a $5 gift card I had on me. She said the card had already been charged, so I wouldn't be able to use the gift card this time. I said, I asked for the bill, not to close out my tab. She just said there was nothing they could do at that point. So, I got the itemized statement which showed 1 order for a 12 piece wings and 1 order for a 6 piece. I asked her why that was? She said "Well, it's the same price as the 18 piece anyway". "No it's not, it's 2-3 dollars more." She said she had already put in the order for the 12 piece when I'd asked to change it. I asked her why she didn't tell me? I would have just kept it at 12.
In short, I'm a single mother of 7 children, so I don't get out much. I was looking forward to this time, but there was very little about the dinner that made it an enjoyable experience for us, and with an $84 tab, that's super frustrating! I did give the server a 15% tip because I didn't want to stiff her entirely, but I was not happy at all walking out the door. I, for one, will not be eating there again, nor recommending it to anyone else. My expectation was to have a relaxing night out, get some dinner, and play bingo.
