I was glad to see there's a Texas Roadhouse here in the Salt Lake area. This location was easy to find and plenty of parking. We get there and a friendly host seats us, no too much of a line here. Tiy can call ahead and that puts you in line basically, so when you arrive, there's not much of a wait even if there's a big line! We go by the steaks all on display. Sometimes I pick out my steak I want right there, but this time I just went in. Seated, we get those wonderful soft fluffy buns with that butter. Everybody grabs one. We've all been to Texas Roadhouse before so we all know how it works here. We get a couple of orders of those loaded potato skins for starters. One guy gets the full rack of ribs, I get the rib eye as do a couple of others. We all go for the Caesar salad option. The potato skins are so tasty! no skimping on the bacon! My steak arrived cooked as ordered, med rare, the that full rack of ribs looked good too. My steak was juicy and tender, maybe not prime grade $35/lb kind steak, but for the money it was well worth it. I like Texas Roadhouse, cause it's consistent over all the locations and I travel a lot with this crew, so we al get what we like.

Unfortunately, this location is the exception--and probably one of the worst I've been to. I went twice during the two weeks I was in town, and both visits were extremely disappointing. Service was painfully slow, and if you sit at the bar, it's almost nonexistent. On my second visit, the bartender "Luckie B" was there, and service still didn't improve--she even wanted to argue with me about the quality of the steak instead of addressing the issue. On my first visit, the French onion soup--which is normally pretty good at LongHorn--was cold and basically inedible. I gave them another shot and ordered the Flo's Filet. By far the worst steak I've ever had at a LongHorn. The bartender disappeared for long stretches, and getting any kind of service was a challenge. I've lost count of how many LongHorn locations I've eaten at around the country, and this one easily ranks at the bottom. It takes some effort to make a normally consistent chain this bad. Well done
