Enjoyed some painting and champagne this evening. They had a fun event where you could paint a picture of your pet. It was a 3 hour block. They have a bar to purchase beverages - alcoholic and non. Their instructors were very helpful throughout the process giving tips on how to improve (especially for those of us who are not artistically inclined :)). This was my first "paint and sip" experience, and it was so much fun. Perfect for the first stop of our bachelorette party. Covid precautions were decent--I feel like we were a little close together, but they still required masks, which made me feel better. The theme for the wedding is Beauty and the Beast, so the Enchanted Rose painting we did was perfect. Reagan was a great instructor; she was thorough, kind, reassuring, and kept a great pace for the class. For this "not crafty," very novice painter, it was a little outside of my comfort zone, but a fun challenge for sure, and I was impressed with myself (if I do say so myself) with the end result--which is, again, a testament to Reagan. Drinks were good too, reservations were easy, and the price was super reasonable. I would definitely return! read more

My family and I have painted here twice before and will be returning this month. This place is fantastic. It's relaxing, the music is great, the teachers are friendly and helpful and for those of us who have no talent at all we can still produce a lovely piece of artwork. I looked into other places but still return here because I prefer the paintings that they offer in their classes. We are decorating for Christmas and took out the painting I did last year. When I saw it I thought wow, that's much better than anything I can paint (even though it's mine ;) It's so reasonably priced for two hours of studio time, teacher's time, with everything provided. Our kids are grown now but looking back, I wish I had looked into the studio to see if they offered summer camps for kids. We have a few items our children created with a local private artist using chalk, not paint. I deeply regret that we did not do more of them. Their artwork is still adorable and surprisingly very good. I wish I had known about the studio back then and enrolled them in classes. I think this would be a great idea for couples as well, both those who are newly dating and those who have been married for decades. Went with a group of friends over the holidays for a Paint & Sip and we had a great time. I love that you can purchase drinks inside of the venue and that we created our paintings freehand. The instructor was great and the instruction was clear and concise. I'm not creative at all and had no idea my picture would come out pretty decent. I love going to this place! It's especially convenient because it's right near my apartment, but it's also a very laidback feel and in an inviting atmosphere. The owner is very accommodating and personable, as well as the artists. The artists are talented and make sure to give one-on-one attention, when needed. The pace of the class is perfect, even for those that are a little more OCD about details (like me LOL). I like that they offer a bar with a large array of different drinks. Mimosas were included in my class Saturday, which was a nice surprise. The take-home kits have also been a nice way to escape from Covid land. We alternated between receiving instructions, listening to a musical selection, then receiving the next step. So orderly and organized. Veteran "paint and drink" attendee here. I'm a snob first and foremost for unique paintings and most studios don't cut the bill. I was drawn in by the great painting selection online. This was my first trip to Pinot's Palette and mostly it was a positive experience. The staff were friendly and well prepared. They helped with ample water changes, which was nice. The bar: I don't often drink, so I didn't like the no outside drink rule. All their non-alcoholic options are very sugary and not things I'd have chosen. I picked a sparking grape juice, but the bottle was old and flat and so so sweet. Overall drink prices were very reasonable! Just a few things that would improve the studio: 1) The instructor needs a stage because you can't see them well without twisting your neck weird. 2) Very instructor dependent classes. I think the huge selection of painting make it hard for the instructors to know how to teach each one perfectly. For example, more warnings should have been given about mixing orange and blue paint. I've done a similar painting elsewhere before and it was covered well. Overall, the class was a little fast paced. 3) a bell or something would be great so we know when to listen 4) the paint was more watery than what I'm used to, so use lots! We went to a paint your pet event on Sunday! It was so much fun. Painting your pet was particularly challenging than other "wine and paint" events because it's a loved one. The artists print a proof on your canvas and have the paint colors ready and waiting for you! They also have the picture printed in color so you can use it as a reference. Our pup is white and brown so j need a lot of help with capturing shading in the white areas. All the staff was really helpful! As an art enthusiast, I approve! I went with Paint and Sip because their competitors didn't offer any paintings that I liked at the time. It was really important to me to choose a painting that I loved, because I needed something to hang in my bathroom, and what better than to hang something you painted! (as opposed to something you bought) I waited about a month for this particular painting called "Firefly Lake" to come around in rotation. Didn't want to go alone (but certainly would have if required - that's how much I just had to have this one) so I convinced my coworker to come along with me and we made plans. Got there a few minutes before it started but I recommend getting there a bit earlier, to 1) ensure you're not late, because once they start without you, it's not easy to catch up. 2) you have an apron to put on, your purses to put away, maybe a bathroom to use and most importantly some beverages to purchase at the bar. 3) also, it's assigned seating so don't worry about competitions for first come, first serve seating. I've only been to one other "paint nite" (in Washington DC) so I don't have a whole lot to compare to but none the less, Molly did an awesome job walking us through her techniques. I'm quite artistically gifted so I didn't have much problem following along, but a lot of my peers were struggling and it meant a lot to them when Molly told us that anytime we needed guidance, to just raise our hand and her or Phil would come to us. Painting can be intimidating so that simple offering put a lot of folks at ease. I loved seeing everyone's variation and I liked how they encouraged everyone to not try to replicate the original. They had an assortment of other colors to choose from and let us get as much or little paint we wanted. I had a blast. Paint and Sip makes creating art fun, whimsical and achievable. Well we went there and unfortunately the class started 20 minutes after the start time. The one artist who was I think Asian, I don't recall her name, I just recall being told she was an actual professional, had the most elitist and worst attitude ever. She was pained to help people and overall the tips she gave made some of the paintings worse. One other guest, who was there for the event was really good. I started watching her because she was giving her friends tips and helping them with their paintings and her tips were so helpful. The brushes were horrible. I'm not sure how anyone's painting could have turned out nice. This place prides itself off having better paintings to paint, but service and supplies were much worse! The teachers didn't want anyone's painting to be better than their own and it was reflected in their attitude. They seemed annoyed at a guest who was helping her friends. But honestly I think if I wasn't watching that other person I would have just had a really bad piece of work. It is a very elitist studio. We came here because the art work to paint is much nicer than other places but the elitism has to go. They won't tell someone who has a good painting that they are doing a good job. I went on Facebook to see the pics of the night and they literally only took pics of selective people. I've never felt so excluded to be honesty and I've done a lot of wine and designs and paint nites. My girlfriends were also a little disheartened bc while the painting was great the elitism and snobby attitudes really took the fun out of it all. Also it was super cramped! No space for your paint at all! Couldn't even move the easels back a little to access the paint plate. Meh I love the paintings they offer better than other places but the service is a no go. read more

Having been here a few times and having had to suddenly move our painting class tonight, I can personally vouch for the quality of people that run this place. It was completely our fault for not calling in advance to move our class due to a medical emergency, and they still took care of us. It was beyond kind and for that I must profusely thank them and sing their praises. This resulted in them hiring an extra painter and wasted paint, but they were so understanding. Took a UNC grad "Paint the Old Well" class recently that was given by Pinot's Palette. They had EVERYTHING set up from the paints to the canvas, aprons and a teacher who played fabulous music in between instructions. It was given at the AC Hotel in Chapel Hill who provided an upscale appetizer table and had a rotating bartender who took and delivered drinks from the hotel bar...Most of the students seemed to not have had experience in painting, so it was a little like painting with numbers and a good way to teach beginners. I was an art Edu major at UNC and Martha Stewart's stylist and doing this for years, BUT still found value and enjoyed this. read more

My husband and I went to Pinot's Palette while on vacation. We absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. The instructors were super helpful, the studio was clean, and the wine was absolutely wonderful! My younger sister invited me to Pinot's and got me a slot as a Mother's Day gift. (Yes, she rocks) Normally everyone paints the same thing and there are step by step instructions. I was not really interested in doing that so she signed us up for Pet Portrait day. This one supported Poodle rescue and her late beloved pet was a poodle so we sent in our photos and off we went. The classroom is big and bright and the professional art people "helpers" were super nice. I could have used a tad more elbow room. I felt a little cramped but I'm claustrophobic like that. Next time I will ask to be put on the end of the table. =) I got to try a new wine drink. Nicki Minaj has some called Myx and it was super yummy. I painted my kitty who is alive and well. I felt really proud of what the end result was but it was HARD! LOL I have newfound appreciation for painters for sure. It was a Saturday night and every seat was almost full and in another room there was a PARTY going on. They sounded like they were having a ball. Pinot's Palette in Brier Creek is the absolutely BEST. I can't rave enough about this place because the experience was more than I or my team expected. I needed to book time for a team building activity and this place made the booking super easy. There weren't any confusing fine print, extra fees for anything...it was simple simple simple. The location was so nice, painting everywhere, a bar in the room, music, we were even able to have catering of our choice come in. All this for such an amazing price for a corporate team builder was ideal. Our paint instructor Sarah was patient with us (we were just all so excited), we were able to take a break several times to check out each other's work and laugh and take pictures. This place is so much fun! I've been to some evening classes and a weekend morning class which offered mimosas (a nice treat!). My son became interested after seeing the paintings and wanted to join me one day, so we took an afternoon class together. He loved it! Now he wants to go to open studio and has a list of paintings he likes. The staff is awesome and very accommodating. If there's a painting you would like to see on the calendar, be sure to talk to them about it (lots of examples on their walls and then the complete listing is shown on their website).
