From the ease of the booking to the exit, everything was seamless. I booked the Shatter Room last minute as an experience for my niece on her birthday. She had a blast, and the owners made sure we were safe and had the best time. She was all smiles after leaving and on the return home. Her favorites were the music playing and the small bottles that she was able to break easily. Although the way she was going to town on the filing cabinet she could have fooled me.

    18th birthday celebration!

The site itself is quite nice and very large. Apparently renovations were done recently so it has an updated feel to it. When you walk in you sign up to race at the counter area, and you also take your picture and pick a racing name. The majority of our group was guys, with the exception of three ladies. Us ladies didn't race and instead ended up getting drinks from the bar, playing a few of the arcade games, and cheering on our guy friends who raced. The bar area has a pretty good selection of drinks and food, and for it being an "amusement" type center, I'd say the quality was pretty decent! There were a solid amount of things you could do besides the racing. They had axe throwing, a rock climbing wall, arcade games, and an interactive game arena. The racing did look fun and our friends had a good time doing it. Those karts go up to around 40mph so they're no joke. I do feel like they do a good job with their safety measures. They give you solid racing helmets, and if you spin out they'll make sure to help safely get you straightened back out. They'll also enforce some set track rules to make sure you're racing safely. My two friends and I watched our other friends race from a large viewing platform near the top of the track. The only negative thing I'd say about our experience is that it's loud (I'm sensitive to high pitched squealing sounds, so I shoved some bits of napkin in my ears and that helped lol), heavily smells of gas (they do have ventilation in place but it's still very noticeable), and it's also pretty hot in there. The area with the arcade, bar, and other entertainment is separate from the racing track, which is good because you can get some relief in between races in there. Overall, it was a fun experience! We all had a good time and would go back again. This time I'd bring ear plugs lol.

I asked an employee how do they deal with it because we stopped racing after our second time and went inside. The place needs to update the video games or make sure they are working with we didn't see anything to play some of the non-arcade games.

Motley Clue Adventures are the perfect solution to bonding and growing over solving a DaVinci Code style puzzle! I've completed two adventures so far with colleagues - one at NC Museum of Art and one at NC Museum of Life and Science. It is perfect for large groups, as you have an icebreaker in the beginning, and then they randomly assign you to groups. It took about a half day (9am to 12:30pm) -- so it ended just in time for lunch. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes! Your team will be racing against the clock solving numerous puzzles to get clues that are embedded in exhibits within the museum. You'll also get a prop box that contains items to help solve puzzles. You're given a deadline to solve your case and turn in your documents. Winners are determined by the amount of points from various correct puzzles and by time. There's also a giant treasure chest that will contain "treasure" of some sort that you will have to solve a final puzzle to unlock! :)

When it was my turn, the screen printing pro and I chatted about team building events. I grabbed a card and reached out the very next day. After explaining what I had in mind (a workshop for my running group so that we could print some t-shirts), I was handed over to Lenny at Hey Monkey! Lenny was so easy to work with. He understood that organizing these things is akin to herding cats, so he set everything up to be as smooth and painless as possible. And then there was the actual event. It was so much fun! Woo-woo warning: I don't know exactly what was going on, but my group brought some really negative energy into Lenny's studio. Fortunately, Lenny just carried on, kept his upbeat attitude, and (most) everyone had an amazing time! It's been less than a week and I'm pretty sure everyone has worn their shirts at least once. I'm hoping to do it again for the folks I work with!

Not nearly enough hands-on work for the student (Suggestion: Give people the option to cook as a twosome for a higher fee). : ( Upon entering the kitchen we found our name tags and introduced ourselves to the instructor. While at first the prices may seem high, the items they are selling are high quality and prices are in fact fairly typical for what they have in store. Now one thing that was surprising, typically when stores sell their own branded items, they are cheaper, however here it seemed to be the opposite with many items. The staff were friendly, but not the most knowledgeable. They were definitely trying to help, but at the same time they appeared to be incredibly busy, even though the store was mostly empty, running back and forth from the back grabbing items and helping customers pickup items before being able to help out others.
