Our wonderful daughter gave my wife a birthday gift of having all of us do a Stained Glass class! Since it was on May 4th it was Star Wars themed! May the Force be With You ! Each one of our group of 5 picked out ahead of time which Star Wars character we wanted to create. Your choices were a Light Saber, Darth Vader, Grogu (Baby Yoda), or Boba Fett. Then when we arrived at class the pieces for each character were beautifully pre-cut by Sarah and ready to assemble. The assembly process involved several steps including cleaning the glass first, then applying metal tape, then soldering, cleaning, etc. Lila was our wonderful and very patient instructor and she was awesome ! She provided safety gloves and explained everything to all of us first timers doing this and answered any and all questions. When needed she provided hands on assistance to make sure everyone's piece came out great ! There was no rushing, great music playing in the background, lots of fun and overall a really great time! We definitely plan on returning for future arts and crafts classes at this great place and people! read more

I enjoy wine & design on any night. Painting is very relaxing and calming. The painting evokes an even happier mood. I enjoyed this paint night. The assistant, Amanda, was extremely helpful and often came around to compliment our progress on our painting. I have visited this location before. The only downside is one dryer station for two crowded classes. This is where the mark was missed in obtaining a 5 star rating. read more

They gave great instruction and took their time. The only downfall about this location is the parking is complicated. I had such a fun night at wine and design!! This was my first time doing a wine and design, so I really can't compare this location and class to others. The class was very well organized and everything was set up for you as soon as you walked in. There were wine openers and cups for your wine, water and brushes and paint at each seat, a wall of aprons to choose from, a coat hanger to keep your coat and bags away from the paint, and canvases at each seat already outlined of the design in sharpie. The instructor was great and there was just enough instruction mixed with letting us all do our own thing. The design we painted was very detailed, so it left a lot of room for our own choosing of colors. The instructor taught us how to mix the colors and talked through what she was doing with her painting. This location has a lot of Durham themed options to paint, and I'm excited to have a piece that will always remind me of Durham! We listened to music, painted, and drank wine. What an awesome Friday night activity. If you're looking for an activity other than the usual dinner or drinks out, I'd highly suggest doing a wine and design for your next outing. read more

I went to one of their #onwheels events where it's hosted off-site, so I can't speak to their facility. The one I went to was at Fullsteam. We ordered our beers and crowded around tables near the stage, where our instructor, the hilarious and helpful Lizzie (Izzy?) tried her best to use the microphone while showing us what to do. With the set up, I thought the experience and end result would be disastrous, but I'm actually really pleased with how my painting turned out! We did these colorful pig portraits, and I had a great time doing it! It was great that Wine & Design provided everything we needed, including a relaxed instructor. My fine swine will hang in the guest room with pride. read more

Tonight I took my friend from Australia, my son's mother-in-law, to Wine and Design to paint abstract flowers. It was such a delightful time! My friend loved it and she will be taking both canvases back to Australia to remember our epic day we had together that ended at Wine and Design! Our instructor, Amanda, was so accommodating, talented, and a perfect instructor for us! This place is SO fun. It's the perfect activity for a girl's night out. You bring as much wine as you want, plus any snacks you might fancy, they supply everything you need to become Picasso for two hours. The employees are super energetic and come around to help you whenever you need help fixing your mistakes, so everyone always leaves with an awesome painting to hang on their wall. This was my first time at one of these wine and paint classes, and I attended with a friend with some optimism. Generally, I found it to be a pretty fun experience for a reasonable price. $35 got you into the class, an artist to talk you through painting your replica of the selected piece of the night, and all the supplies you needed. It was BYO beer/wine/etc., though the bar next door seemed used to people stopping over to get drinks to go. We had one artist and one helper and were painting a picture of Durham with the water tower and smokestack. While I generally thought this was a really fun experience, I was less convinced about their handling of the painting itself. We got no basics at all, just leaping right into putting paint on the canvas - something I think would have benefited myself and a number of people around me. Our artist repeatedly told us that we had gotten ourselves into the hardest painting class they offered - something they certainly don't even mention on the website - and that we'd be painting a less complicated piece than they had done in the past. In fact, they had found the original painting so difficult that they had to make it easier several times now, really resulting in a pretty different picture than the original. While the picture we painted was quite nice, it paled in comparison to the original and an intermediate, also hanging on the wall. Overall it was a fun night and I'd be up for trying it again - hopefully on a night where the planned painting isn't quite so difficult. read more

Finally got to try out this studio with a couple of girlfriends this past weekend and was very pleased with my experience. Go to their website and scout out which painting you want to complete and when. You pay online before class and while it's convenient I wish you could pay through pay pal. Everything is included in this price ($35); paint, canvas, brushes, apron etc. They even provided wine glasses and a bottle opener. Parking is a complete nightmare at this location so save yourself the headache and park in the Woodcroft shopping center across 751/Hope Valley Rd. Our group brought wine and snacks but I saw several people with beer from Growler Grlz and pizza slices from Randy's. As for the class itself it was super fun, relaxing, and just an all-around good time. We spent about 3 hours painting and talking about our work week. If you've never taken one of these classes have no fear if you aren't artistic. They draw you a general outline and walk you step by step through the process. Trust me, if I can paint something so can you. If you are in the SoDu area and looking for something fun to do you should try them out. They also have locations in Chapel Hill, Apex, Cary, and Wake Forest. read more

These guys are dumbasses. Short and to the point, I booked a Thursday night, they changed my reservation to a Wednesday night without getting in touch with me. When I showed up, they turned me away without a refund because "I should've checked my e-mail." I have higher standards for my own business and believe that if you don't speak to a customer directly then it doesn't count. So... I didn't get a refund. In the long run, I hope this company lets the dumb cunt working behind the counter drive their company into the ground. That's what they deserve at this point. read more

My friends and I have a great time every time we go here. It's super fun and the instructors are very laid back. I'm not an artist by any means, but the paintings always end up looking great! You bring your own wine and beer but they have bottle openers and plastic cups there. I do wish they actually sold the alcohol, but obviously that would be more expensive. Classes are $35 a person. Great place to go for bachelorette or birthday parties. read more
