I wanted to convert a vintage bag chain into a necklace, but was struggling to find proper hardware…read morethat would look good with the chain. (Ex. Size, color, plating) I had checked craft shops and stores, but couldn't find anything that was a good match. Earlier during a quick trip to Chapel Hill, I remembered this shop was in the same mall as Mulberry Silks and we decided to stop in during our next visit. It's kind of across from Mulberry Silks and is near a ladies boutique and the CBD cafe. The shop offers jewelry making tools, beads, closures, and some pre-made items as well. There is a small workspace where you can make jewelry there and I suspect that they may hold workshops or classes from time to time. (There are signs saying that the staff could also try to design/help create custom jewelry pieces for customers if they are interested.) I believe we've run into the owner both times I've gone in and she's usually working on something but will look up and greet customers. If they have questions, she is happy to help. I like that there are closures and jewelry parts available that are 18 KT plated gold, and in addition, there are some gold filled ones as well. We did ask the owner to take a look at our chain to see what size of the 18 KT plated closures would fit or suit the chain we brought best. She pointed out two sizes and felt we could go either way. We didn't have the proper tools at home to install the hardware onto the chain, so the owner was gracious to let us use the workspace and tools to attach the hardware to the chain. Prices for the hardware were reasonable. Also I appreciated that she had the workspace available for us to utilize when we needed the correct tools to add them to the chain. With regard to parking, it can be a toss up. There are a few surface lots you can park in, but one of them is shared with Harris Teeter and can get full.

And then there's the owner, Melanie ---- so helpful, accomplished, and personable. Melanie creates some wonderful pieces of jewelry. Anyone having ideas for creating something from beads will have a hard time deciding which ones to use; however Melanie is there to help in any way. If I could give more than five stars, I certainly would.

I scheduled Michelle to host the cheese and butter class for a bachelorette weekend and it was such a hit. She arrived with an assistant to set up the kitchen and even prepared a tray of delicious snacks for us to enjoy during her lesson. We had so much fun making cheeses and butters and snacking on crudites we were so stuffed we skipped our scheduled lunch. Another bonus was that Michelle even cleaned up the kitchen afterwards (my least favorite thing to do after cooking). I cannot say enough good things about her cooking lessons. This is such an amazing service and everyone that participated loved the event, I only wish she was closer to LA and I could have her host more cooking lessons. Thank you so much Michelle for being the highlight of our weekend activities!! If you're looking for a fun unique activity to try and are in the SB area I highly recommend Farmbelly Cooking School!

She brought everything we needed and transformed one of our conference rooms into a fully stocked kitchen. Although we did not have access to a stove/sink/etc., Michelle made the class worthwhile by teaching about knife skills, how to select produce, working with herbs, etc. After the workshop, she split us up into two teams for an "Iron Chef"-style competition. It was so much fun! At the end, we got to enjoy our Superpower Salad creations, as well as some extras that Michelle brought for us. I highly recommend working with Michelle and Farmbelly Cooking School!

Frequented…read moreprimarily by UNC students based on its proximity to the school, this place has a fun vibe and also tons of spots to sit and work. They offer matcha (with boba and jellies to add) and shaved ice. I didn't know about the shaved ice but someone ordered while I was there and I am intrigued. It looked delicious so I may have to come back to try. I got a large strawberry matcha with boba. It was $8.33 after tax, which I feel like is reasonable for the size and quality of the drink. This is definitely one of the better matcha spots I have enjoyed. I sat outside since the weather was nice and sipped on my drink. Not a spot I'll likely visit often based on proximity but definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Nice decor and vibe. I'd give the Pork chop rice plate a 3.8 and classic black milk tea with boba…read moreand pudding a 3. Rounding up to 4 stars because the rice plate was a good value at $12.95. For the rice plate, the pork was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Not a huge deal but the crispy part fell off from the meat so it took more effort to eat the whole thing. The broccoli wasn't too salty and balanced out fried pork. The broccoli was room temperature though likely intentional for this Taiwanese dish. Tea egg could've been stewed longer for better flavor. Overall, I'll come back again if I have a hankering for Taiwanese food. Milk tea had good flavor but boba was overcooked and soggy. Pudding was good. I also forgot to adjust the sugar and ice level so make sure you do that!
