I took an acrylic pour class here one night and it was so much fun! My instructor was engaging, creative patient and kind. They do everything in their capacity to make your experience Fun and educational! You're allowed to go here with food as well as beer/wine. All kinds of people who come here this is a place where your creative juices can flow and you can just have a good time. Clearly, the owners emphasize and distressing and unplugging from the daily distractions in life. I highly recommend this business if you want to have some time for yourself or if you're genuinely want to go to learn paint or create something beautiful. The Cary Wine & Design is a fun place to spend the afternoon or the evening. The staff is very friendly when you arrive and they even send an email reminding you of class that day and with other useful information about the class. The studio has two rooms for painting, a larger one in the back and a smaller space up front. When you arrive, there will be an apron, brushes, a cup of water to rinse the brushes, at least two napkins and a plate of paint. Classes run around $35 for a class. There are specialty classes that are more but that will be clear when you register. They do run specials from time to time as well. Class starts with an introduction about what to expect for the night, how to clean the brushes, how to hold the brushes to achieve certain results etc. The introduction varies on the instructor as they each have their own way to explain. During classes music is played and the artist demonstrates what we are to do. The artists will help if we get stuck or missed a step. The atmosphere is fun and I enjoy creating my own artwork. The time goes by quickly and it is great to see the painting come together at the end. I've taken classes in Cary with Bethany, Ryan and Richard. But I am confident that all the instructors are fantastic and I look forward to taking classes with more of the artists.. read more

If I could give them more than 5 star, I totally would! Okayyyy so, when it comes to art, I am a hot mess: I have no patience, I can't really draw or paint and I am not that creative like a lot of people. But wait, if you agree with me about your painting/art skills, you are in luck! Wine and Design provides you a pre-traced canvas and you know, everything else is ready when you get there too! I love the fact that everything is all organized and prepared, ready to go. Again, having a pre-traced canvas? Ah man, what a lifesaver! Just having that canvas makes me feel so confident and you know, I feel like I can paint anything! I took Apex Wine and Design's paint your pet class few weeks ago and I definitely fell in love. I got a lot of compliments from my friends and I came back to paint my other dog this time. Bethany(the best art instructor I've ever seen) and Craig, the owner of Cary studio, were there for this class and they both were so amazing. Bethany walked us thru and taught us how to paint step by step. It was easy to follow and I just loved her energy, her class was so fun! They always want to make sure you leave the class with your happy face & awesome painting. They tell us to come back if you think you need more touch up later! They just want us to have fun and enjoy the class and just knowing that they are not rushing me, that's so great and I can focus on my painting. I ended up staying a little bit late but Bethany and Craig didn't mind at all and they were being so understanding. I absolutely loved my second class just like my first one. I left the class with my happy face on and yes, my painting was so freaking awesome. This is my 2nd paint and sip experience but the first time at this studio. I had a blast along with some other ladies during an afternoon class for the painting of "Bae", which is a portrait of a beautiful black woman with an afro. I love big hair, so when I heard of this class, I had to be there! This studio may appear small from the outside but is huge on the inside. I walked past a party in the front to get to the class in the back. Check in was organized and I was advised where my group would be seating. Waiting for me was an apron, three paint brushes and canvas ready for me to paint. I was pleasantly surprised to see the canvas was not blank but was lightly outlined with what we were going to paint. My party host had a nice set up on a side table of snacks (mini sandwiches,hummus, chips, crackers cheese, fresh grapes/strawberries) to go with wine that we all bought to the studio. At Wine and Design it's BYOB..bring your own bottle of wine..to enjoy while painting. I loved the atmosphere of this studio. The pre-selected music playing had us all singing along while we sipped and painted. Faves from Maxwell, Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, some oldie but goodies RnB were in rotation. Our instructor was very easy to follow and the flow of the class went well. No matter what was needed: more paint, extra paper towels, clean water..you name it and a staff member was there to get it for you. It appeared to be a sold out class with 3 tables and ten to each table. I guessing aproximately 30 ladies were painting. Class lasted for 3 hours. A bit longer than I expected but hey....time flies when you are having fun! Wine and Design's motto is sign up, show up, sip up and Paint! That's exactly what me and some girlfriends did on a Saturday for a girls night out and we had a whole lot of fun! I would recommend this business as a fun thing to do in Cary. There are also other locations thruout the Triangle. They book private parties too and this would be a great idea for a date for two, a moms night out, celebrating a birthday or just anytime you want to express yourself and release your creative juices! read more

I got to spend the morning and the afternoon here with 3 of my girlfriends celebrating my birthday. Such a fun idea! We got to paint, relax and catch up. My husband took me here for my 31st birthday! We had a great time. This studio was clean and bright. I art work was amazing that decorated the studio. The artists were so friendly and when we arrived our couples canvases were ready for us. A few last minute people came in and the staff was able to accommodate them, which was awesome because it was a date night session. One thing I particularly liked was that the instructor wore a head set and there was surround sound instruction that was crystal clear and very easy to follow. The instructor had a great sense of humor and provided great assistance to anyone who got a little too tipsy and got off track. Tried one of their classes for the first time last night at Fullsteam Brewery in Durham. So here is how it works. You can view what paintings they are doing and when on their website calendar. You pay in advance( I paid through pay pal) and just show up! There were two ladies last night at the event, I wish I could remember their names, sweethearts they were. All the supplies are there for you along with an apron so you don't have to worry about getting paint on your clothes. The painting we did cost $35, tax included. They gave step by step instructions and even "helped" you when you mess up! They played some fun music during the class and asked you if you need anything, more paint, questions, ideas etc.... I didn't feel rushed and had a blast with my girlfriends. I can't wait to do another one. *Fullsteam does not serve food but there was a food truck on site and when you signed in they gave you a coupon for a couple bucks off. My first painting with wine & design was couple of years back at a corporate event. I had thoroughly enjoyed it and have been wanting to do this activity with my husband. How have I not reviewed wine and design yet? I adore this place. They have such a great variety of paintings - there is something for everyone. Craig and Marianne are really the nicest people. And i think not everyone who can paint - can teach...THEY CAN DO BOTH. They take it slow and are fun and personable. All of their artists are very helpful. Dont think you have to have ANY painting experience at all to come out with a great painting. They take you through step by step. And if you mess up - no problem...they help you get it looking right. Just go to one class and you'll start learning the technique and need less and less help. I've been to other locations and they just dont compare to Cary. They have two big studios so they can offer two classes at once. I have had multiple private parties and they are very accomodating - and the prices are very very reasonable. They also offer a frequent painter card. Pay for 6 classes and your 7th is free. They will provide you with everything - paint, canvas, brushes, ice, cups, wine opener...the only thing you bring is your wine. So convenient and so much fun. I visited Wine and Design when I went to visit a friend in North Carolina. I had been to similar places in Jersey and this was just as fun. The instructors were so patient as I got drunk with my friend and tried to pain Monet's bridge. The room is spacious and they let you bring anything from wine to food. One group almost had a real party full of drinks and apps! Upon arrival, our canvas was outlined so you knew what and where to start your painting, though you still had free range to create as you pleased. There are tons of options for paintings and a full wall of artwork you can purchase as well. Such a fun place for a girls night out or even a date night. This place can be addictive. It's basically paint therapy. I had a lovely time as I was invited to come along by fellow yelper Leslie. The instructor was very welcoming. When I first looked at what we were painting, I thought oh no, this is going to be a mess for me. As I started painting, I became more relaxed. I stopped a few times, sipped some wine and kept painting. Most of the ladies at our table brought snacks and wine and we all shared. The music played were a lot of 80's and 90's R&B which was the best. It was a great experience and I know I wil be back soon. Fantastic date night, especially if your date is your spouse and you take 2 bottles of wine and share them with your fellow painters. The last time I had painted or done anything artistic prior to this experience was back in elementary school when we did finger painting and any and all artistic work was ooh-ed and ah-ed by teachers and parents alike. Thus, I was highly suspicious as to whether I could create a work of art that was worthy to display to others. My anxiety further increased when I walked into and was presented with a piece of canvas with only the outline of the bird - no outline of the moon, branches, or flowers that we were to paint. Our instructor was absolutely fantastic - she guided us every step of the way, explaining the basics of how to mix paint colors and stroke styles and let us experiment with our personal preferences how light/dark we wanted certain things. She nurtured the hidden artistic side of me and encouraged that side to spread its wings and fly. Though I was a initially hesitant to free form the branches and flowers onto that piece of canvas, by the time we got around to that part, I was much more comfortable with the free-form-ness of painting. I felt that our instructor was very supportive of artists of all skill levels, whether they be noobs (me) or artistic spirits. I had fellow class-goers who created paintings that strayed from the color scheme or design. At the end of the painting session, I had created a work of art that I'm proud to display! read more

I had so much fun at this place! The last time I painted was in grade school so I was very hesitant to go but I'm so glad I did.
