We're so fortunate to have such a place in our city. What an amazing find. The teachers are very engaging, and keep the students excited about learning. And they really seem to care about the students. They teach from the very young, novice students (my son is 7), to advanced programming (high school AP computer science), with students designing games and apps and showcasing their work at special events organized by the school. They offer group classes, individualized coaching (1 instructor for 2 students), as well as track out, summer camps and kids nights out. In addition to the fun, my son is actually learning a valuable skill that will serve him well in life. I wish something like this existed when I was a kids...but then, there WAS no Internet when I was a kid!

Our son was only supposed to go there for 1 year but we loved it so much and it was SO good for him, that we delayed him starting kindergarten by a year. In total, he spent 2 yrs there. He started knowing no Spanish (my husband and I don't speak Spanish) and he ended with a really solid understanding of the language. So much so, that when we went to Spain this summer, locals were impressed with his accent and his ability to speak the language. We actually had no particular interest in him learning a Language, but we really wanted to get him into a Montessori school. This school was amazing for his confidence. He started off as a shy, difficult boy who hated his previous preschool. He blossomed beyond our expectations there. He was more than ready (& not only willing, but excited) to go to kindergarten. He loved his time at Maracas. The staff are amazing and caring and it is such a sweet school that I will always hold very dear. I cannot recommend Maracas Montessori enough. Any child that goes there is a very lucky child.

Chasta and Willis are very invested in developing a quality and nurturing environment for all the students and it showed on all levels of my daughters' participation in the studio. Yes, I had a 90 in all courses for the current semester ( you need an 80 to pass), zero absences or lates, and my gpa was 3.5. Read that again, I was dropped from RN program over drawing up ONE unit of insulin too much. As I was dropped, the school was trying to reentry me into the class behind me. Received reentry docs also the following day in an email. Give me a break. The wind was taken from the sails of this ship. It's not about you the student, it's about their ego and their profit!!!' I'd say, please pick another program. This one is all about money, making money, and their retention rate is at about 3 out of 10. If you have a 30% chance of swimming across a lake, will you try it? Of course not. Passing boards rate is great. But ask their retention rate. I guarantee in a class of 30, only ten originals if that will graduate. I'm not bitter, just factual and an eyewitness.

She doesn't care about your child at all compared to the good dancers or her favorites! This dance center isn't worth crap! Waste of time and definitely a waste of money! Unfortunately Covid hit, however the school remained dedicated to staying open for the children. No fault of the school, but for our son, he was struggling outdoors due to a medical condition. My husband, the year ended was worried over a permanent location being established in time and missing other deadlines. The hardest decision I ever made was to leave this lovely school and community, for an "indoor school" I wanted to hear my child's request, yet I knew in my heart what they had built is one of a kind. He and our family have since regretted this decision. Well, the school did it as i knew they would. They found a permanent building. They are also growing continuously year after year as I knew they would. But we could not get out of our contract. If you want your child truly loved, educated, and cared for: mind, body and spirit THIS is your school. The teachers are VERY well educated with post bachelor degrees. , most importantly, dedicated to your child individually. The school is ran by one of the most caring, highly educated and compassionate individuals as well. Love, education, individuality, and family are so important to this school. It has taken my husband 3 years and 2 Different schools of watching our son suffer immensely through bullying, cruelty from teachers, and schoolwork not being developmentally appropriate from so called other top private schools. He now has "seen the light" so to speak and knows he allowed his lack of understanding Waldorf education and the growing of the school. It was during a major life crisis in our family and admittedly I should have fought harder for our son to stay. . And we left the most perfect school there is around this city. Was my husband educated on the Waldorf way? No and it worried him. Now he understands that our child was loved and happy while receiving an amazing, one of a kind, Waldorf education. His conservative views of what "school" should be like, was crushed as we were enrolled in one of the "typical" sought after private schools. Then came one of highly recommended private Christian schools. Neither of which can compare at ALL to enriching and educating..most of all, truly loving our son. We were undeserving of the love and support extended to our family from the head of this school and teachers. Although we were no longer enrolled, they still extended love to our family! Parents..PLEASE trust you're gut! And come with an open mind If new to the Waldorf experience. Partners, support the parent of your child please if they know this is the right school. It is! This is by far the most well rounded private school there is in and around Raleigh where you can rest assured your child is being educated in a loving way and protected. We receive a recap of the week with pictures at the end of the week, which is so nice. The kids get plenty of outdoor time and opportunities to move. My first grader comes home excited about what she's learned and eager to return. As a parent of a child with food allergies the school has been great with that as well.
