Unlike many dance studios, it's a place that fosters CONFIDENCE, DEDICATION, and PASSION-- which are amazing, lifelong qualities to instill in kids and especially teens. Kirstie, the director, is such a joy to be around and has created a truly unique and special place. Note only Kirstie, but all of the teachers too are committed to the students and create a very positive learning environment. Finally, the students are wonderful providing positive support to one another and put in a great deal of hard work. As I said before, the studio is truly a gem. Send your children or take class yourself as NCDI. It's a great find -- helped me remember why I love dancing again.

I'm incredibly disappointed and honestly disgusted with how AKT Brier Creek treated my mom,…read moreespecially considering how much support she had previously shown this location. My mom attended workouts here, but she also went out of her way to support this business professionally. Through her marketing work within the shopping district, she helped them with marketing videos, events, and other promotional efforts. Unfortunately, she later lost her job and shortly afterward had to undergo emergency surgery. During an already incredibly difficult time, she called AKT Brier Creek to cancel her membership and explained her circumstances. She was told that she HAD to physically come into the studio to cancel and that they would not allow her to do it over the phone. My mom lives an HOUR away from this location and, after emergency surgery, was in no position to make a two-hour round trip just to cancel a gym membership. She also wasn't going to be physically able to make that drive anytime soon. Instead of offering her a reasonable alternative or showing even a little compassion, they continued attempting to charge her card and ultimately sent the account to collections. When I contacted the studio myself and asked about their cancellation policy, I couldn't even get a clear answer. Instead of transparency or accountability, I was met with defensiveness. This is exactly the kind of business practice people deserve to know about before signing a contract. If someone loses their job, undergoes emergency surgery, lives an hour away, and CALLS to explain that they physically cannot come in, there should be some reasonable way to cancel a membership without eventually being sent to collections. Policies are one thing. Refusing to work with someone facing legitimate extenuating circumstances is another. My mom supported this business when she was in a position to do so. When she needed basic understanding in return, this is how she was treated. If you're considering joining AKT Brier Creek, I strongly recommend getting every detail of their cancellation policy in writing before signing anything. At the end of the day, this experience made it feel like collecting $$$ mattered more than treating a person with basic decency.

Get ready to sweat!…read more My friends and I stopped in for a class on a Saturday Morning as part of my bachelorette festivities. The dance studio is clean and inviting. The music was on point. So in my mind, I envisoned myself twirling around a pole gracefully ala Jesse Spano (Elizabeth Berkley- but she'll always be Jesse from Saved By the Bell to me) from Showgirls. However, I am apparently not graceful, limber or fit! Seriously- this class was a real workout, and the "pole play" is not as easy as it looks. Even the "floor work" was challenging, but sexy! My friends and I were all sore the next day. I could feel the burn in my quads, biceps, abs and rump. Although, I will admit it was one of the funnest workouts I've ever done. Amanda was our instructor and was ultra talented and full or personality. I'd love to return for their beginner's classes. *Insert body roll*

They even provide diapers and a changing table in the bathrooms for the younger students. They sell tutus and leotards and other adorable clothes. They also have tons of ballet themed books on shelves as well as toys to keep kids busy before or after class starts/for siblings who are waiting. Also, the instructors seem to always provide a 5 minute grace period to allow for parents to make it to class a few minutes late. They don't start immediately which is very considerate for parents of young children. I highly recommend tutu school to anyone who is unsure or on the fence. They were absolutely above and beyond/ exceeded my expectations. For reference, my daughter has also tried daisy dance and twinkle tots (different ballet schools) and tutu school was hands down the best option by far.
