PDC…read moremanages the rare feat of doing two things incredibly well; it is both a very warm, welcoming, friendly, well run and well organized studio and also an incredible teaching facility for dance. Kay and the faculty are very supportive and attentive to all the kids, regardless of their level. They keep a careful eye on who needs what kind of work and suggest classes accordingly. It's remarkable how well they know each kid, and everything they are dealing with both in and out of dance. They also enforce a policy of all the kids being nice to each other. Everyone applauds for everyone else, everyone thanks the teacher at the end of each class, everyone works hard and is supportive of each other. The studio is growing along with my daughters, so that there are always challenging classes to take and interesting things to learn. They have been given wonderful opportunities not just to perform and to compete, but also to do things like dance at local cultural festivals and for seniors in a care facility. The studio is also very respectful of family time and homework time, and many of their dancers are also honors students in school. My daughters have learned not just how to dance, but how to manage their time, how to be responsible, and how to support and nurture others. No connection with the parent....no staff present, or so it seems. Do you even care when you open the door at the end of the class if my child is picked up? You don't even make a connection with a parent to make sure the children are safe... And if there is a problem, there's no one there to speak to, for the child or the parent. No place I want my child going. Need to learn some manners, at the very least....or do you just care about the tuition??? Glad to be out of that place.

She loved it, the teacher was super involved, and it made us feel very welcomed. Soon after, we enrolled her in a summer camp. Another big win! The activities, teachers, and administration were all great and delivered on everything they promised. Then came time for preschool. As fellow Apex residents can attest to, there aren't many schools in the area (Apex is growing fast) and the ones that are here tend to fill up immediately. Well, APA was no different, but thanks to their size and community demand, they actually opened another class to accommodate the volume. We're very excited to continue school and classes here and are grateful for what they do. Highly recommend!

My son loves his Tappin Dudes class with Miss Krista. He is so happy going there and loves the…read moremusic. I think that bringing him to classes weekly has really helped him learn to follow directions well. He has been desperately trying to do a cartwheel after they practiced this in class a few times. He is a super star at tumbling and my "mom heart" sings when his favorite teacher says "He is doing so well!" It's absolutely adorable, all of it.

I just love watching her in this class…read more- her instructor plays fun princess music, they dance with little props that go along with the seasons/holidays - pumpkins, "falling" leaves, etc. One class they all got to put on a princess dress. It's a great combination of age appropriate ballet activities mixed with ballet terminology and moves. It's a busy studio, lots of dancers of all ages coming and going - and they all look very happy and excited to be there, which is a great sign! Already looking forward to the recital in June!

Miss April is so creative with providing extra opportunities to dance like fundraisers, summer camps, the Cary Christmas parade, teas, a daddy-daughter dance, etc... Many GE dancers have earned parts in the NC Ballet's Nutcracker productions. Another thing that we really appreciate about Miss April is her noticeable attention to keeping the girls young ladies by not dressing them like tramps when performing. (Just go to the Cary Christmas parade to see!) In addition to a small, quiet waiting room with closed circuit TV to show the children dancing in the main studio, there is a back room in which you can take young children to watch movies or play, and a nice seating area outside. Located in downtown Cary, it is close to parks and the Cary Public Library. Graceful Expressions is a blessing to my family.

One staff member said billing is based on the number of classes for a partial trimester. The other staff member, the manager, an extremely arrogant individual, gave the run around on billing and finally said that the partial trimester billing is based on a full month of the three month trimester. The billing policy should be clearly stated on their web site and paperwork. Since it is not, and given the multiple answers to billing a partial trimester, it seems the correct billing amount is the maximum that Cary Ballet can squeeze out of the parent. So, one star for lack of clarity and extreme arrogance. On the positive side, my daughter lovers her class and instructor. She is always excited to attend the next session. The school outside the administration is favorable. So, 5 stars for instruction and the facility.

When I told the video person they needed to at least move over a seat to remove it from my line of sight, I was told that would not be possible, even -- AMAZINGLY -- though there were TWO vacant seats to the right. I was told my comments were unkind. This, too, is amazing since compromising my experience to satisfy their desire to be center-row is the very epitomy of "unkind." This posture is, however, consistent with comments below that pertain to their arrogance. These guys need to do better and improve their attitude.

I was invited out to the Cary Arts Center this weekend to attend a special screening of Barry…read moreGordy's The Last Dragon. As a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and Black History Month, this was a unique event. There were 2 guest DJ's who spun old school hip hop throughout the event and a DJ who spun a live score throughout the entirety of the film. It was refreshing to see so many people of color come out to this side of town to gather. There was merchandise being sold in the lobby and food trucks such as Presto and Go Yaki in the parking lot. It was convenient for those attending this 3 hour long event. The staff kept things organized and they were kind and welcoming. The facility itself is in need of some renovations and updating. I get that this is a old historical building. I will definitely return for further programming of interest.
