I can see the big improvement that she made in sketch, acrylic painting, and colored pencil drawing. She submitted one of her colored pencil drawings for an art contest for the first time this summer. Her art has been selected to be published. We are so lucky to have Ms. Catherine as the art teacher.

My 8 year old daughter & I are huge fans of Sociable Art Kids! She's attended two art classes and…read moreis scheduled for a third next week while tracked out. The classes are taught at the owner/instructor's home with a few different themes offered during each track out (birdhouses, mermaids, flower collage, Fashion Face Fridays, how to draw dogs/cats, and others). She also does kids' birthday parties where the kids paint something fun to take home with them, and she just added some summer camps to the calendar that we're looking forward to! Karen, the owner/instructor is patient and offers a relaxing, fun environment and Abby really likes the tweeny pop music playing quietly in the background! The prices for classes are very reasonable & I love that she comes home with her very own piece of art we can hang proudly on the wall!

Great fun for track out camps/classes when you want to fill your child's schedule with something different, and reasonably priced.

I first heard about this studio from a parent of another kiddo in one of my daughter's track out…read morecamps. My interest was instantly piqued because I had been searching for art opportunities that didn't seem so basic for my young artist. Every other option (except one that pushed for full day when I wanted a half day opportunity) I had found offered for her age group before KidzArt had "cute themes" and was basically just drawing or painting on paper, nothing seemed special or specialized for that matter - I couldn't even find a class that offered basic sculpture with clay for my kindergarten kid! When I saw the course/camp offerings here, I was actually excited that this might be something that would work for my kid! There are TONS of different options for camps (both during the summer and for track out) for ages starting at 6 - the Town of Cary classes that seemed like they may draw in my child weren't available until she is 8 years old (the ones offered for her age group just seemed too basic for her abilities). I was thrilled to see that just after the studio opened and on my kiddo's track out there was an illustration and cartooning camp offered - perfect! So far, she has created a lot of great art: some in a sort of "wine an design" but for kids (without wine of course) style following the instruction of the teacher, and some free art of her own cartooning and illustration. There are many materials for the kids to experiment with here and an opportunity for free art time too. The owner and instructors are very knowledgeable about art and also work very well with the children of varying ages - they seem to genuinely care about the kids and get to know them. We also signed up for some classes here outside of the track out camp she is taking. The variety is great and my kiddo seems to find inspiration from the lessons as well as from the other kids in the class. I really wanted an opportunity for her to experiment with more materials and to learn some techniques she could apply to her own art - this studio provides exactly that! She's already learned some strategies with watercolor and shadow that have popped up in her other work (just like how after reading a specific book she will mimic the art style in her new art), and has requested time to work with clay which she hasn't ever really had a desire to do until now. She is really enjoying her experience at camp and definitely seems to be inspired by it! The studio itself is clean, open, and bright. The materials are well maintained, and it is overall a great place for young artists to grow! I'm excited to find more classes to continue to inspire my kiddo - she is also very excited to check out other themes here too!

Hello there Yelp users! I am pleased to inform you that AoPS is definitely five-star worthy! Being…read morea former student of AoPS, I know just about all that students go through: from a welcome greeting at the front desk to a joyous farewell by their teacher, AoPS is truly all that any student could ask for. All classes are packed with plenty of humor to satisfy one while still learning useful skills. I just have to say that Mr. Matthew Smith and Ms. Katie Doles are two very great teachers that I would recommend. Simply put, AoPS does not believe in the philosophy that a student can learn just by having a textbook placed in front of them. No, a student must learn through appropriate engagement and interaction. For example, a 5th-grade language arts student can expect to relive the Titanic sinking in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean (and also learn more about the White Star Line) while also flying high into the air to discover the tragic death of Amelia Earhart. And there is no right or wrong answer, as students can form their own assumptions! Simply put, AoPS is super fun and I hope readers will be propelled into the AoPS family by this review!

The test they let us take home to learn further was well done. In fact, all the curriculum we have seen from Art of Problem solving, the math publisher, including the Beast Academy math curriculum for grades 2-5 is top notch. We homeschool so ended up embracing the curriculum ourselves rather than signing up for a year at Art of Problem Solving, but I have never been so impressed with math curriculum as we were with Beast Academy 2 to 5 - the guide books (a.k.a. comic book style text books my kids loved to role play), the practice books (a.k.a. workbooks for each chapter with increasingly challenging math problems that make you think and really get math logically, not just bang out calculations), and then the Beast Academy online portion. My kids range in age from 22 (a college grad computer science major from a highly selective university) to a 20 year old intended math major on full merit scholarship at another highly selective university, on down to 8 years old. My 8 and 10 year old are doing this curriculum and adore it. I considered being a math major but have learned new ways to think about math and numbers. We are picky consumers, but loved this so much, we think every family should try it - your kids will learn to love math if they don't already, and we should be spokespeople for this awesome company and curriculum.
