You don't have to worry about fitting in or getting along with classmates, mine were amazing and supportive. The ones you should be worried about is the faculty. Most of the instructors at ECPI are nurse practitioners, or have some form of higher education and let me tell you they make sure you don't forget that they are better than YOU and will certainly put in your place which is on the floor with their foot on your neck. ECPI is poorly run by incompetent faculty and the leadership is a complete joke ( LPN program director of nursing and her goon squad) is even worse, A JOKE! These people are don't care about students they are NOT there for you, they aren't there to teach you, they are there for their paychecks NOTHING MORE. My first week there I was taking an exam and the assistant director of nursing proctoring. He was chatting with an other instructor in my presence and other students were not in the classroom I could NOT believe my ears he was bashing another student and thought it was funny. Just When I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did! I cringed after he said "We always talk sh*t about students like this!" Then he moved on to bash another faculty member that wasn't present either. I was in complete disbelief, it was beyond unprofessional and nauseating. If I had problem the last person I'd go to was my DON, she allows it. It was common for her to change rules when she felt like it and if there was an issue with students it didn't matter if you were right, she favors the instructors every single time, it was pointless since she's buddy buddy with her staff. I can't count the number of times I heard the Assistant Director of Nursing drop the F bomb while giving lectures/teaching SMH. When I failed a class, he treated me like POS, It was disheartening to say the least. To be fair I'm only mentioning instructors I had for my courses and I am NOT mentioning faculty names. The point of this review is to save others from making the mistake I made along with many others . They are rude and dumber than they think LPN students are, they wouldn't be able to find their rear end if they had both hands in their back pockets. During my acute care course while the instructor was teaching (countless times throughout the course) students had to correct the instructor because she was teaching the wrong information or the right information with the wrong answers. How does a nurse with a NP degree teaching wrong info? She was always as confused as a fart in a fan factory. That brings me to unfair grading practices. Most instructors create their own exams... she was teaching the WRONG information/material and that only meant 1 thing, she was marking correct answers wrong on exams. Total BS, She was unapproachable! The times I did reach out to her she was rude and nasty, I saved every single email, this instructor isn't meant to teach PERIOD. She spent more time in the faculty lounge doing god knows what during class-time that I paid for! It got to the point that I repeatedly asked myself if I made a mistake going to nursing school. They are there teaching because they couldn't cut it in a hospital and that's the truth. I had a burning desire to care for others, I wanted to become a nurse, but that all changed at ECPI. ECPI is no different than elementary school , instructors pick their pets and glorify them, reward them with passing grades no matter what. Giving undeserving credit for answers that are clearly Wrong. It's hurtful unfair, said instructor always made it easy for her favorites to approach her. It was repulsive and crappy not to mention how she humiliated me and looked at me like I was an insect when I went to her for help. She looked at me like I disgusted her and I don't know why. I never got out of line with her or any faculty member or students I was pretty quiet. I always demonstrated professionalism, too bad she couldn't reciprocate. As I stated above... incompetent, unfit to teach, and unprofessional after I failed a course, I was offered the opportunity to retake it. However I asked the gentlemen in financial aid how much the class retake was going to be and HE DIDN'T KNOW! How does Financial aid NOT know? That blew my mind! I wouldn't step foot in this less than mediocre dump of a school if they handing me my nursing degree on a silver platter. During my final week at ECPI I sat with my LPN director of nursing and her assistant to discuss my future (after I failed my class) I felt like a parasite, they both looked at me like I was a diseased nuisance. It was such a demeaning and painful experience. She shooed me out of their office like I was bothering and inconveniencing her. I felt so low, they made me feel worthless and dumb, like I didn't have what it takes to be a nurse and like I didn't belong there. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I constantly cried. I couldn't enjoy my family, I was distraught, and felt lost. Don't waste your time or money! Enroll in a real school read more
